Just done the same to mine, much easier than faffing about trying to repair the corners, so much time saved with a full half panel. Good progress !!

Half panel might half been expensive but was a smart move leaving only two short welds and the rest spot. Nice work👍

Great work DB. Really wish I had had a spot welder from the start of my build, saves so much time. What's next on your list? 👍👍

Tell me about it, the thought of all that extra drilling, plug welding and dressing didnt sound apealing. I've done the rear valance and I'm torn between the rear quarter panels and starting the floor, with my main issue having access to weld in the new companion bins
@danhardy57524 жыл бұрын
@@DBMiniDIY if the old quarter panels & bins are still in place, I'd do the floor next. That way you can use the bins and quarters to line up the floor and retain strength in shell. Once in, remove the quarter panels one at a time , do the companion bin and closing panels inside the sill area. Then finish off fitting new quarter panel 👍 Yeah I hate grinding welds back, think I've spent at least 50% of my time drilling & grinding back 😑😑 Would be way further along than I am. Stonechip and suspension next for me to try and get it to a rolling shell before bodywork / filler 😁

@@danhardy5752 yeah thats the way i was thinking but then the door steps and part a/b pillar need done to line and attach the floor and so on
@danhardy57524 жыл бұрын
@@DBMiniDIY well if that's the case I'd do the door steps then the floor. As you say, you need the door step to weld the floor to, and you need the original floor to line up the door steps in terms of height so when the new floor goes in, it doesn't end up sitting too low. Door steps next if it was me 👍

@@danhardy5752 yeah thats the plan mate, and a pricey plan it is

What spot welder would you recommend ?

The clark csw13t or csw6t, deoending on your budget. I use the 13t, its expensive but a good bit of kit
