Interesting paper, will have to give it a read. When we ran are knee OA class around the template of ESCAPE pain and gave a massive array of exercises including a much higher dose, we also got good results. It's brilliant to see such a small dose can have good effects, and I also echo "if you don't recover optimally then how can you perform optimally"

Physiotherapists should always explain to their patients what their exercises are trying to achieve. This helps patients to understand the purpose of their treatment and to stay motivated.

Would be great to cover muscle strain injuries in young and adults who engage in sports 👍🏻 Unless you already covered that in another video?

no functional exercises ?
@ClinicalPhysio2 жыл бұрын
In time absolutely! These are just some of the most simple starter exercises I use - key thing with this video was frequency and reps!
@MemeGang4202 жыл бұрын
How is any exercise not a “functional exercise” What criteria does an exercise need to meet to be considered “functional” ??
@cartmansuperstar2 жыл бұрын
@@MemeGang420 (in my understanding) it needs to mimic the way, the joint is used in everyday-life, i.e. you use the knee to climb stairs etc, so a squat-movement would be more "functional".

a knee OA exercise video and ZERO mention of glutes?!?! seems like a pretty outdated approach
@ClinicalPhysio Жыл бұрын
Why?! Most recent Cochrane suggests that ANY exercise for OA knee is a good option! What do you feel that Gluts would add so significantly? P.s. I’m not debating you are not allowed to use Glutes, but the way you have suggested makes it sound like gluts is absolutely vital?
@smoothmovenyc7992 Жыл бұрын
@@ClinicalPhysio what?? OF COURSE glutes are VITAL to knee function...one of the main reasons people develop OA in the knees is due to weak glute muscles that don't do their job properly, for example the knee caves in as you walk and over the years it wears away your cartilage
@johnli9810 Жыл бұрын
@@smoothmovenyc7992 agree. Glute activation is absolutely vital to knee/hip function, especially in patients with glute amnesia and dominant anterior chain. An irresponsible and outdated approaach to only prescribe anterior chain exercises ie quad strengthening and not include a single glute exercise. This will only increase the imbalance in the anterior/posterior kinetic chain and lead to increased knee pain.

why do you want add Gluteal exs? assume that it's early OA.
