That 360 cam got a workout this time. The new highway bars look good, they fit the shape of the bike well.

Yeah I love the taper at the bottom, its different from what I usually see. And YES that 360 camera is AWESOME for videos like this when you are trying to show something like an engine guard with footpegs. Editing it takes significantly longer but I think its worth it.

Thanks. Have the same bike and I am looking for guards

The Cobra-V is certainly a cool look with the taper in at the bottom.

Yeah, I installed the H-D engine guard (not the Mustache) on my '20 Heritage 114 and I'm still figuring out which highway peg mounts to use. I've read that the H-D mounts, because they're powder-coated and the engine guard is powder-coated, that there are fitment issues because of the thickness of the power-coating. I'll take a look at the Ciro3D products. Thanks for the video, Dan.

The Ciro foot pegs are really good and also powder coated. I would recommend them. Come back and let me know which way you went and how it works out either way if you can.

IDK about washers. Maybe make a plate out of 1/4" steel with the footprint of the mounting surface (I wrote this out before the aluminum add.) Steel and aluminum will have an electrolytic reaction that will cause corrosion. With fasters, studs or bolts into aluminum, unless the threads are sealed with loctite or the bolts are cad plated, they will fuse together and it's bad.
@GearsGadgets4 жыл бұрын
I will likely get a custom steel spacer made up at some point. I am not too worried about galvanic corrosion with the frame being powder coated and the aluminum spacer coated in plasti-dip creating a break in material BUT, it will certainly be something I think about constantly and the thought will force me into something else but similar.
@nokoolaid4 жыл бұрын
@@GearsGadgets I don''t expect there to be corrosion either. It's just the quasi unexpected shite that happens.

The traditional engine guard bars keep with the traditional look of the Heritage. Couldn’t you have moved the oil cooler slightly to accommodate the bars?
@GearsGadgets4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the short answer is no, I spent quite a bit of time off camera trying every scenario possible.

Did you buy the shoes to match the bike or the bike to match the shoes? Nice addition to an already great bike! I'll be putting a guard on my softail next week.

The guard is absolutely an awesome addition with the highway pegs.

EDIT I didnt watch all of the video, mybad. I still think you should get a plate fabbed at a local shop or something to cover the whole frame plate. I really do not think those washers are a good idea. That's going to twist and torque the frameplate on the bike if it ever goes down, and if it goes down at some speed, you're going to snap the frame's crashbar plate, and you're gonna end up with a totaled bike because of a damaged frame. I would look for a local fabricator or something like that and get a solid steel block made to go under it if you want to make space. stacked washers are a bad idea.
@GearsGadgets4 жыл бұрын
I probably will end up getting a custom fabricated spacer at some point.

I see that you put some weight, is it because of the poor handling of the softail frame 😎

@@GearsGadgets sorry my friend, my bad. It was only a joke. You seem to gain some weight since you bought the heritage. Is it because you are trying to improve the poor road handling of the heritage by your weight? Its no more a joke now.
