I work out at my home gym as well and the only thing that I'd recommend man is some adjustable tie down straps. If you lose balance backwards, they will catch you!
@cols-muscle-power2 ай бұрын
Yeah it's a possibility, although I think if the weight was falling backwards that far away from the rack, safety straps might tip the rack. Might be better just to let it fall. Cheers anyway 👍🏻 💪🏻

Very good form. I'm not sure that when training alone I would want to do sets at my maximum weight ? Injuries take so much longer to heal as we get older.
@cols-muscle-power2 ай бұрын
I've got no problem training with max weight to be honest. I'm very conscious about safety and always use correctly positioned spotter bars. But sometimes injuries can happen at any time ,even with light weights 💪🏻

Exactly. When I'm training, for that hour or 2, all my troubles are gone 💪🏻

As a 57 year old myself, I cannot go as deep as I did when I was much younger. I try to get to the 90 degree on a low bar. I like my knees too much and I have injured them going ATG in my late 40s. Starting see 20-25 year olds putting 3 and a half to 4 plates that have to recover from back a knee injuries. At 57 not worth the risk, and the weight I use is not huge ( like maybe the mid 200s after progressively loading after a 135 warmup set) Everybody’s ROM decreases as they get older, even the haters. I’d rather make it to the gym than sit around and pick up 12 oz all day because I feel I have to go ATG or not do it at all. Great lifts and set up. Like the rusty plates too.
