My mama is from Wrightsville Georgia and she made this cake Frosting. She would start icing the cake before it hardened and poke holes in the Layers so the icing would drip down. She also used the same recipe but used Brown sugar instead of white sugar and made a caramel icing. They are absolutely delicious

Tammy, you have outdone yourself with this cake. I watch you all the time and I have seen you make beautiful cakes before. But when you were icing that cake it was something to watch. I could actually taste the icing. And 4 layers made it really dramatic. You should be proud. Few people would even attempt icing 4 layers. WOW!
