Yea he was kinda sorta a little bit funny for the first 5 minutes he came on the scene, but pretty quickly just became....eh....ok I guess, but I wouldn't pay money or pass up something better to use my time listening to him. I wouldn't say his comedy is completely horrible, but eh...its not really that great either, pretty bland. I don't understand why he's as popular as he is.

As a business owner or breadwinner, you cannot risk as much liability as you could when you were a solo act. You can try, but when it's more than your individual livelihood at stake or it gets towards the millions in monies... not really worthwhile. It does require proper adaptation tho, of which YMH Studios is failing and why it deserves criticism. However, as long as there's honesty, the slight edits and casual omissions to dodge liabilities in general is fine. Two basic examples: - Bleeping a rando's or celeb's name? I'd likely never know who tf it is and kinda don't care if I do, but I still find their childlike giddiness over it entertaining; and - Consistently honest about their lifestyles, in full or part? Unless their entire act/podcast/career is 100% made-up, there's gotta be some TMI moments even if the style requires some exaggerations or they need to protect their others' privacy. But just like rockstars and other celebs, comedians just aren't dying relatively young anymore - their lifestyles are changing too.

The challenge Tom faces is that he switched up and really showed his true character and how much better he thinks he is than just about everyone. It was also not an isolated incident, so he can’t just chalk it up to being stressed or anything. Now that he’s been trying to fix his image, it just comes off as fake. It would be one thing if he was his own catalyst for change and just truly wanted to be a better person. But, he’s only doing it to keep the cash rolling in. I don’t think he’s going to be able to redeem himself in the blink of an eye. He really was always a great guy who’s done a lot for the fans and traditionally tried to make a space for his fans wherever he goes. Even back in the 90’s he was always known for this. It doesn’t surprise me he tried to keep it open for his fans and have faith this guy would know when to end the joke and stop joking about it with his podcast, but it just becomes too much. The fact they eventually had to is really telling about how bad it was.

I'm not a comedy slob but nothing disappoints me more than finding out Tom Segura became super successful with stunning podcast views, stunning money and shows and deals. Oh, no, I don't mean I'm sad for *him*. Good for him, personally, good. What really hurts is knowing that way wayyyyy too many people love dumbfukc comedy, have easily-satisfied standards, love mediocrity and its not even that, in itself, but they REWARD that. Way too many people are rewarding that comedy :(

I think these channels are bad for standup comedy, personally. It just feels like I’m watching people over analyze every word and move any said comedian says or does. Comedy is an art and I think it’s unrealistic to expect every painting a painter makes to be spectacular. Then when you add the podcast aspect you have comedians with way too much airtime for people like yourself to go through and nitpick every moment that isn’t funny or isn’t appealing to their character, them as human beings. Every comic is different. Everyone has a different sense of humor, but channels like this seem to speak in such definitive terms when it comes to what is or isn’t funny and tries to convince anybody who does enjoy those comics to stop. I just find it weird. Nothing in this video about Tom is egregious. Also around the 23-24 minute mark you said he just shows up for the paycheck and leaves. These comics are there to tell jokes. They show up, tell jokes, leave. That’s normally it for them haha. He also had a huge documentary about his tour and showed like the 200th stop on the tour or something where he spent a shit ton of money on the production for the crowd with fireworks and all. Idk, seems to be a market for this content though. So more power to ya.

Garth Brooks played a concert in Central Park in front of a million f****** people. Not on television. Live in person. Tom does arenas in front of 20000 people. Garth Brooks does football stadiums in front of 75000 to 100000 people. Now explain why he needs to go on a dinky little podcast?
