I'm having deep thoughts as I move through the quiet, peaceful dirt roads of Santa Ynez.
Walk with me as I open up about my fear of death and recall a certain childhood memory that still haunts me to this day.
I've found that listening to my body and listening to the Holy Spirit actually go hand in hand 🖐️ 🙏
My life is finally starting to make sense again. I'm feeling inspired, peaceful and ready to slow my life down in a way that I have been unwilling to for decades.

I was always greatly influenced by a depiction of your mother's in her autobiography. She seemed accepting of the loss of her father, even unaffected. But her characterization of her overwhelming devastation at seeing the Mamas & Papas leaving with her replacement, has always been a touchstone for me. It demonstrates how status, hierarchical position, is so consumingly important to us....more so than anything else of the flesh. I think we do well to recognize it...however successful we may be objectifying it.

We are to believe in GOD! Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life; no-one comes to God except through Me (John 14:6). Jesus wants you to to cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Only by repenting of sin and trusting in Jesus to guide your life are you spiritually safe for all eternity. You believed in me and because of you I was able to audition in Hollywood and land leading roles as an actress. Josh Brolin was able to do the same, BIG TIME! Wait Until Dark was such an important school play for me to be in. You were (and probably still are) a tremendous acting teacher Hillary. Those years were difficult and my mother was distracted. Remember when we did the urban survival class and you ended up on make-belive welfare? And you ended up being make-believe better off than the kids working for minimum wage! You really are an inspired and gifted performing artist Chynna--equally as good in your own way as Josh. He's just gotten some great scripts. There are always more of those for men. But you have the same multi-level instincts; you know how to use the actor's instrument. Do you remember the 3 elements? I loved teaching at Newbridge but came to not love LA so much. Eventually started a Montessori School way up in Humboldt County on the coast. Old and Grey and retired now! Fat and sassy...

My husband used to ask me why I was afraid to die because we were both Christians. I told him that I was afraid of the unknown. He said Heaven isn’t an “unknown,” the Bible describes it in great detail. He went to Heaven ahead of me in August, 2021. It was kind of like he jumped in the deep end of the pool first and now I’m not afraid at all. I can’t wait to see him again!

I was always petrified of death. Then my husband died at only 45 yrs old, followed by my mother and my best friend right after him. Grief changed me a lot. The first few years I wanted to die to be with my husband, but we had 5 kids who needed me to raise them. Now I figure when I die I will be joining the man who always protected me so it feels far less scary.

Hi Chynna, I can relate to so much of what you're saying. At around age 40, I really became aware that death was probably right around the corner. I think I'm not so much afraid of death as I am a long, drawn out illness. I fear suffering, and the anxiety that goes along with it, more than anything. I think it's because I remember my mom's long battle with cancer. She fought hard for almost 10 years, and it was just brutal. The endless doctor's appointments, scans, etc. She'd get scans done and everything was fine until 3 months later when more scans were done. Then chemo would be started again. Chemo is so hard on the body. It disturbs me that even in 2024, chemo is still being used and people are still suffering through it. Why isn't there something better? But in any event, it was a roller coaster ride and it taught me that life can turn on a dime. It taught me that everything was temporary...and that has scared the hell out of me. It has caused me a lot of anxiety. There is nothing I fear more than a life of constant doctor's appointments. That is a special kind of hell. But Chynna, give it all to Jesus. Ask Him to take that burden from you and help you to be at peace. Love you ♥♥♥

The worst thing is to be declining in one's health, spiraling towards death and not even questioning what's on the other side...that's my father...no matter how many times I share my faith with him. Without acknowledging Jesus as Lord, we cannot enter heaven...he is the key to those gates.

I am the same way, but even more since my recent breast cancer diagnosis. I'm 48 and have also been having nightmares about dying or something trying to take my life. I have noticed in many of your videos that there's a lot of angst as well as obsession with our physical demise ie: death. We usually create a pattern of behavior that can be very difficult to break away from and all it does is stress us out and weighs us down leaving us exhausted. The truth is that our own will power is very limited, and it is dependent on good and bad influences as well as the will power of others. So, in other words, there isn't much we can do in many circumstances. One thing we can and should do as Christians is to constantly live for the Kingdom while we are here in this fallen world. Set our sights constantly on the Kingdom by forgoing the physical attachments of this world. Rid ourselves of attempting to create a paradise in this fallen world. There's no such thing as long-lasting idyllic circumstances while we are in this temporal flesh. As Christians we must be realistic and find true contentment and peace in the most basic needs in this fallen world. I hope these words are encouraging and helpful! Blessings and peace to you🙏✝!

Chynna sometimes those dreams are about other things we fear, that is frightening us. I just want you know that you have love out here. The dog can be a symbol of aggression (something from outside you fear), and airplane can symbolize a worry about your spiritual journey and where you are headed. But we /I pray for you out here and God's love for you is real. Also re family members and distance, some of us have been there too and I would like to give you confidence because you are such a loving person. Have faith in that

I think about it every day too. The older I get the more accepting I am about it; just as you said, but now that my parents and grandparents have passed I’m haunted by wondering what’s happened to them? Where are they? You should consider taking Horse riding lessons from a highly reputable horse trainer. Then buy a horse. I was raised around horses and they are very therapeutic beyond anything you could imagine. My favorite area of the valley is Alamo Pintato Rd. Love that area. So peaceful and beautiful. Peace of Christ. : )

Horses Are very therapeutic. A cousin of mine had cancer. They were having a fund raiser for cancer patients.... I tho't, No. I'll give it to someone I Know who has cancer. My cousin didn't use the $ for herself. She said she was ok financially,etc. ... But she used the $ I sent her, for the place she worked at. This place taught horseback riding to special needs kids, or physical therapy for kids... Whatever. She said they only could ride outdoors, & they were saving $, so they could make a building so that the kids could ride indoors if it was rainy or snowy outdoors. I never rode a horse in my life!!! But if it's That helpful & therapeutic for even children, I'm glad I was able to help them out somehow. 💙💗🕊️💗💙

You are so inspirational.....Grief is hard tho...and so is life.....Sometimes, we have the image of how we would like to pass away when our time comes..,.Someone, told me, "his ways are not our ways....' A good friend of mine passed away with her family all around her....it was incredibly sad but so beautiful....to be surrounded by those you love with prayers and hugs..............Then, my father passed away during Covid restrictions at the hospital...and I had to say Good -Bye over FaceTime....They were supposed to move him too a room where family could gather and say Goodbye.. And he passed away before we could get there..There were times I was haunted thinking he died alone and scared...My father hated hospitals...I have to trust that God sent the right people to him....🪽 His ways are not our ways.... I know my father would not want to see me or my daughters crying over him....we loved him so much...he was our sun on a rainy day and the joy of our lives. Isaiah 55:8-9

I can honestly say that I do resent death. And the thought of earth being destroyed upsets me too. We aren't supposed to love this world and our lives here. However, we were born here, and it's what we know. It is hard to imagine the other side from this vantage point.

Just my opinon !!!! Its the fear of the process of dying, not so much after , i hope & pray to be with our Lord and savior 🙏 🙌 . Re: vivid dreams. When i was being given a too high dose, double dose 20mg instead of 10mg, of my antidepressant Lexapro,( in the hospital for an infection), i had the most vivid, grotesque, terrifying dreams. Have you had a dose adjustmant of antidepressant? It could be the cause. ❤

Remember in the New Testament that we will be ressurected...the perfected body and our spirits will be joined together never to separated again. Christ was the first person to be truly ressurected ( Lazarus was raised from "dead" but it wasn't fully his"time" so Christ brought him back).

I just went back to Alanon. You go girl. My child sex abuse, and subsequent DV was horrible. Diddy's video sent me over one edge, the next week the loss of a childhood friend of 50 years passed. I saw that video and processed, or realized what my kids saw, my kids grief. Did they think I was dead so many times? They woke me up from the floor. Age, and getting closer to heaven is the blessing of peace above all understanding. The foregiveness is real. The knowing that all is well, with Jesus holding my hand is why. I also head back to theraapy on June 5th to workout CPTSD from so many things. For me, I am the wall builder ❤. It used to be easier to move on, than to acknowledge the shame for being unable to get out. No more shame, but I still much to process? self regulate, then reprocess. I am blessed and well loved now. But it was work. Keep going back, I will too!🎉

The fear of death is universal with everyone. Obsessing over it only hurts you though. Every minute your spending think about it, is one minute less your living, the good and the bad. For someone who was laying in a hospital bed for 5 days in very bad shape, I envied everyone who were working and walking around going about their day. It took me 6 weeks after I got out just to get my energy back to do that. This is what I always try to remember if I'm having a rough day. Appreciate a boring day, a stressful day, a heartbreaking day, etc. Your alive, and good days will always break up the bad days. The area you shot this looked like a good place to sit down on a beach chair and relax a little bit.

I live in La Jolla California and go figure I am from upstate New York, right where your mother-in-law went to Wegmans.!!! I pray that you will come to the Catholic religion on we live, because not all Christians are the same on we have the gift of receiving the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ every time we go to mass . I have a challenge I am on that’s next May open up your heart, and going to Medjugorje! I have been binge watching KZbin on this daily for the last two years, and I need to up my game. I stepped aside from my Catholic religion for many years after going to college and such and about my salvation, when I was 60 and alone and said I better figure something out because I said I do believe in what I was brought up with that I want to get to know my Lord Jesus Christ, much closer and deeper, and I also want to know my religion and I have found out that it is completely flawed, but that is through the works of Satan my religion itself has the most amazing graces and sacraments Eucharist adoration. I can’t even begin to go on and on, but let’s just think about that one first step of just passing out to the wind taking a couple hikes, and just open up our arms so blessed virgin Mary Who hopefully will bring us closer to the Sun Jesus Christ and going to Medjugorje next May with father John So much tomorrow to share with you and I know you don’t even know me, but I will continue to be in touch and hopefully we will connect . I apologize for any typos it’s late I’ve been taking care of my elderly neighbor all day and I am beat but I’m sure that given the dictation on hand may have a little bit of a shat show here God, be with him in peace, saying the rosary daily, divine mercy chaplet by the monks Bible in here are novena always say in one of those things as he is the best . I fell on so many levels, and I’m just trying. Thank you for listening and good

I have been afraid of death my entire life, I'm really not sure why, I don't think I had anything traumatic happen to me and I had a wonderful life. I didn't dwell on it; it would pop into my thoughts and stay then leave but when I turned 69 it came and would not leave. I was just consumed with death because now it was a reality that I could die at any moment. I suffered mentally for almost a year then when I turned 70, I told myself I had to stop this and get on with life, which I have been doing. I have always been a believer in Jesus so go figure.

@@ChynnaPhillipsBaldwin As a fellow Christian myself I would like to give you some advice and please take it as something constructive and edifying and not a critical reproach. I have noticed in many of your videos that there's a lot of angst as well as obsession with our physical demise ie: death. We usually create a pattern of behavior that can be very difficult to break away from and all it does is stress us out and weighs us down leaving us exhausted. The truth is that our own will power is very limited, and it is dependent on good and bad influences as well as the will power of others. So, in other words, there isn't much we can do in many circumstances. One thing we can and should do as Christians is to constantly live for the Kingdom while we are here in this fallen world. Set our sights constantly on the Kingdom by forgoing the physical attachments of this world. Rid ourselves of attempting to create a paradise in this fallen world. There's no such thing as long-lasting idyllic circumstances while we are in this temporal flesh. As Christians we must be realistic and find true contentment and peace in the most basic needs in this fallen world. I hope these words are encouraging and helpful! Blessings and peace to you🙏✝!
