Ray.. I suggest you look into R11 flush kits. Easy use and disposal. To flush evaporator with on grenades and burn outs of compressors. Use them on my daily of HVACR. also as times change a micron guage is always a good tool for a vacuum. I'd never steer ya wrong.. like the evaporator cleaner that time on the live feed..lol😂😂😂

Nice work, and good to see you have the discipline to run a final checklist thru your noggin to catch things like new parts still on the tray and any unfastened fasteners. A mechanic who loves their job is the kind of mechanic we'd drive those extra miles to use.

Regarding the Subaru, Make a drill bushing so you get a centered hole in the broken stud when you drill it, Use left handed drills, They often work to pull the stud out as the hole size approaches the thread minor diameter. Don't use easy outs they break off and then there will be no hope at all. Use heat to help release the stud. heat the aluminum , not the stud. Install a heli coil being extremely careful when tapping. Use the next closest oversize Heli coil whether it be metric or sae. This engine is totally not a lost cause. Bring it to a machinist if necessary.

About the Subaru... been thinking about it. Since you're pulling the engine, get a steel plate, drill the bolt pattern into the steel plate, bolt the steel plate to the engine, then get one of those mag drills to drill out the broken bolt. It'd give you a lot more control over a hand held drill. Not sure if it'd work because I'm not a mechanic, but it's what I was thinking.

You know what would be a cool thing for your specific use case: a 360 camera! There would be a couple of advantages - you would have more leeway in setting up shots. You could just shove the camera somewhere and figure out the framing later - if you ended up uploading some videos in 360 view, the it would be an easy way for someone to get a look at how the components around the work area are laid out Of course that would be a whole new editing workflow, but it might be interesting regardless. Oh, and thank you very much. I enjoy your videos immensely!

I was curious if the orifice had been reinstalled. I literally went back to see if I had missed it, then not even a minute later you caught it. Lol. Great work Ray!

I'm wondering why he is calling that small screen that sits in the line an orifice when an orifice is a hole. Methinks he has confused the name of it.

One day, I will have my own garage with a lift and a project car. Right now, I just sit here waiting and hoping my wifes car breaks more so I can get parts and tools and have a wonderful time fixing it.
