Console Vs PC LAZY? & Nostalgia is NONSENSE?

We have a pc each set up in games room. I also have multiple consoles attached. I go to pc because I have an ultrawide screen but I cannot denie the simplicity of console turn it on and it works. Pc sometimes changes things or stops working because it has an update? Never understood that one. Ruins your mood too when you have to trouble shoot when you just wanted to hop on and game after work. Many an evening ruined. So there’s my answer, I play of and console. Admire console and wouldn’t recommend Pc to anyone unless you have lots of free time 😅

I went to see the Yu Gi Oh Movie at the cinema. They gave you a pack with a copy of each of the big bad guys sphinx cards with your ticket. Was super cool!

I’m 48 and have been playing on consoles since the SEGA Master System, either on my bed or sofa. PC for me is to much faff and money to always making sure it’s up to date. Oh! Nothing wrong with nostalgia. It can be like wearing a comfy warm jumper 😊

I struggle to play first person games on console any more. I can just about get away with call of duty because it feels fantastic to play, but Oblivion, Fallout, Cyberpunk, etc? Has to be at a desk, with keyboard and mouse.

I’m the same, any fps or shooter games is a lock on PC for me. Just about anything else I’d prefer a physical on PS5 though.

I work as a programmer and I spent around 8 hours every day at work behind a desk behind 3 monitors. The last thing I want to do when I am home is sit behind another monitors and play with a keyboard and mouse...... I play in consoles all time and PC is for work 😅😅😅😅

Am I the only person in the world that realises PC has wireless controllers and can be connected to tvs as well? I can play my PC from the sofa or desk depending on how I am feeling, its such a weird thing to praise consoles for when PC gives you both options.

I think there always has been some visual improvements each generation, but I do agree that 2 - 3 level of visuals won't happen like that again. 4 looks like a higher resolution 3, so just sharper images, but I wouldn't say the quality has taken a massive leap. I remember seeing on the 360 Need For Speed Pro Street and just thinking OMG, I was genuinely shocked at the level of how much better that looked compared to 2. I haven't had that happen yet between 4 and 5. I'm so underwhelmed by my 5, the best they've done is backwards compatibility and games benefitting from higher frames. If 5 never had backwards compatibility I probably would've never kept it to this day. I barely touch 5 games.

Up until a few months ago I was exclusively on pc outside of PlayStation exclusives. I’ve started collecting physical games for ps5 again, and like you said something about the nostalgia has just got me hooked again. Will most likely only play fps/shooter games on pc everything else ps5.

I have both and I think there are pros and cons to both. I have a 4090 PC so its obviously easier to see the benefits of PC gaming, but I find myself typically using PC for general gaming and consoles for retro gaming/modern exclusives. I really love both sides of it tbh, Im glad I get to do both. The consoles are so impressive now though like you point out - used to be that a top end PC was WAY better than what a console can manage, where as the gap is functionally a lot smaller now for most use cases. I still enjoy mod/3rd party support for PC as well as using KB+M for certain games, but find console exclusives tend to be games Im more interested in than PC ones, and the plug and play element is great. There is more than enough room for both imo

Completely agree cayle, why can't people do what they want regarding playing games. I do both/more. Old pc with batocera and wireless controllers in living room with sofa for retro gaming Xbox in living room on a sofa with normal tv Pc in my office, where I play more 'serious' games/ games where I prefer to play on PC.

I have a PC with a 4090 and a i9 13900K. I still prefer playing on console but it depends on the performance. If it can have consistent 60 FPS or very close to it I'll play on console

I am 60 and I have been a console gamer since the 70’s and have had all the consoles over the years but I am a trophy hunter and I have a gaming KZbin channel aswell I have never use a pc for gaming and don’t think I ever will the only think I use my pc for is doing my upload to eBay

Most PC games have achievements tbf, Steam has built in Achievements and so do most other platforms. Even with emulators now, stuff like Retroarch has built in achievement support for games that never even had them in the first place

2024 and console all day everyday. I'm not into trouble shoot gaming I just wanna buy the system plug it up and play after a long day of work... plus I love physical media and consoles are cheaper.

you can play majority of games on pc, games are much much cheaper on pc, 144hz gaming without having buy an oled tv plus building a pc for £1k will be more beneficial for you than paying 500-700 for a console that limits you from playing most games as well as having to pay for online a 1k pc is much better than a ps5

Played on console all of my childhood till after I finished uni then I got my first gaming pc and it’s been class, definitely think consoles are more convenient. But your point on console improvements graphically counteracts your main argument, if consoles don’t iterate much between generations nowadays then why get one, just get a pc? Yes you still need to upgrade every few years but the use case for a PC is higher overall.

Cost is relative since you arent paying PSN subscription and games are much less expensive on PC store fronts in general. And your PC can also be used for other things than games and will easily outlast two console generations and their midpoint upgrades. Your digital games are also much more secure, I have games that I purchased 19 years ago on steam I can still download and play now, cant say the same for my Xbox 360 library. So you can add rebuying all your old digital games again every 5-10 years to the cost when the console servers inevitably shutdown

I'm with you on the nostalgia front. I used to love watching the Garfield cartoons as a kid and I still do now as an adult. I prefer pc gaming, but I don't get why it's such a polarising topic. We game how we want to game. Ps. I won't lie. Most of my hours logged into pc gaming is me messing with graphics settings 😂

I recently bought a £400 RTX 3080 that took me days to troubleshoot so that any games running DX12 wouldnt crash after 5 minutes,. Big agree that consoles are the most convenient way to go. I prefer to play at a desk on PC. I've never understood fanboys arguing about if either console/PC is better. Always goes down to "My metal box is better than your metal box" lol. There's upsides and downsides to both consoles/pc however you look at it. At the end of the day who cares, people should play what they want to play You said it best in a previous video "Some people can't fathom that other people have their own opinions"
