As a Chinese from Malaysia, i will pick Uncle Roger's version because that's how we cook fried rice here BUT i would say Gordon Ramsay's version are more flavourful. The sambal all ready has msg and strong taste. Then the rendang paste consists a lot of spices and aromatics. It's funny 3 of them didn't mention anything about the flavour. That guy in the middle who like Jamie's version. His tongue is either spoiled or he just hate flavour.

Cz their tounge was weak for spiciness of chili. So all they can taste was hot. Unlike us, Malaysia and Indonesia we can handle spicy so we can taste the strong flavour from the spices from rendang paste

Lol uncle roger overrated. Saying this as malaysians. That was just a common fried rice in our place. Ask him to cook something harder and wouldnt know. Food critics /youtuber dont make you a good chef. Met him back in a cafe where hes doing promo videos for the shop. And he took like 3-4 NG just for a dish. Please dont treat him like a rea chef he just a comedian.

Yes that's right, Gordon won his uncle title for his fried rice, but lost it because of his ramen, was about to regain his uncle title for his steak + egg, but fumbled it at the last minute for using metal spoon on non-stick pans, no uncle title for Gordon's Sum Tum (papaya salad) either

@@rapiakbar13 lol, it's called magelangan in my area. My mother cook like Gordon Ramsay while my sister cook like uncle Roger. I do both style, but if I want Indonesian style nasi goreng, I need to make sambal first. Proper instant nasi goreng seasoning will give you the paste version, like adabi ones or kokita and bamboe in Indonesia. Nasi goreng for me is like leftover sandwich for US citizen or poutine for Canadian. Leftover from dinner will turned into fried rice for breakfast lol, even the soup.

@@untadagang6172 I had the same idea as I read that post. Uncle Roger's version is a Chinese style fried rice, like the girl said what you would order/expect in a restaurant. The one from Gordon is more like oma made it and the main thing she taught me was that there is no strict list of ingredients, you use what you have and that includes the other leftovers. Cultural difference, we have nasi goreng as a one pot diner so it usually contains some type of protein which may or may not include egg and if it does it goes on top, not scrambled.

In fairness, halos basic recipe yung kay Uncle Roger kaya familiar yung lasa sa kanya. Pero good job Abi for recreating ng mga fried rice kahit medyo na-distract ako sa ganda ng buhok mo, bagay kasi sayo. ✌😁

I just subscribed because I enjoy watching an adorable kid demonstrate cooking. I’m just disappointed that there is no Cantonese version, where there is NO spices, and the eggs are embedded into the rice, coating it slightly yellow.

I cook fried rice all the time for friends during my travel in the Philippines, both, the more chinese version* like uncle roger's or more indonesian like ramsay'. Filipino tastebuds are interesting. Normie Manilenyos really doesn't like flavours like the middle guy but Kapampangan, Maranaos, even Ilocanos they love both versions. Anywho, where to buy galangal and lesser galangal, fresh or paste, in the PH? The last time i found it was in Baler in 2018-9, in friend' garden. *Chinese not malaysian because it doesn't have blacan/trasi. U can substitute it with 4x of bagoong alamang ofc.
