Check out the Cooler Master MF120 Prismatic case fans with included RGB controller install.
Very nice looking fans with a few negatives when you take into consideration their price. Very bright fans with no way to control that brightness with Cooler Masters included controller and very limited lighting settings. Build quality could also be improved.

True there are little to no rgb patterns in the built in controller but u can use these fans in Asus aura software, msi mystic light software and others to fully customise rgb, patterns, fan curve and more. The fans true potential isn't in the built in controller but in the reliability to other rgb softwares. Edit: in my eyes totally worth the money

I didn't know you could daisy chain the argb cables like that! I always just got a argb splitter and connected them all individually

You're welcome. You should check out some of the online reviews, It looks like heaps of people have had random issues more so than other current fans. I also had issues with their Halo model in a 3 pack

Quick question - instead of connecting the RGB header connection to the included cooler master remote, could you instead connect that to the ARGB connector on the motherboard? In other words, leave out the controller and take that last cable to be plugged into the motherboard. Would this work for something like ASUS AuraSync?
@Grajjio
@Grajjio Жыл бұрын
I got the same question, and how to route it. I noticed that my MB ASUS x570 -pro has rgb_header1 in schematic diagram order of +12V G R B, while a 4 pin PMW connector is in G +12V G R B. Or is it possible to use the five pin that is connected to the remote to the rgb_header1?

So, this will not be connected to the motherboard? only a sata power cable? I need to know this before I buy.
@dartharagon9129
@dartharagon9129 Жыл бұрын
You obviously can connect it to the Motherboard, but you will have to buy an ARGB Splitter so that you can connect all your fans to the Motherboard (normally a motherboard only has one or two ARGB connectors).

how many can you connect to one controller? i have 7 fans and the only colors i have are red and green
@tycho1129

the controller has three ports. But you can connect the fans to each other and only need one port of the controller. Same is for the 7 fans.

I didn't understand the review. At what point will someone bend the frame while it's attached to the case, why is that an issue, secondly most of the review deals with the controller as if the fan colors will not be controlled by Aura, iCue or something else, and for those that don't use that software R,B, or G will probably be used OR possibly white.. /shrug. Just seemed that the review hit all the wrong marks

connect the argb header of the fan to argb slot in the mobo then u can control it directly through software don't use the controller that's it

You're right once they are installed into a case the fan frame won't be bent and it no longer matters but for their higher price I would of liked to see them have a bit more solid build quality. After I installed them I could also hear the motor noise of that one particular fan I pointed out that was much louder compared with the other two fans that come in the 3 pack. I was thinking it could be from the thinner plastics being used that caused the fan itself to sit slightly off centre but I can't be sure. It could of also been a bad bearing. The more rigid and well built a fan is it seems to help reduce fan noise and produce a more pleasant tone from what I have noticed. As for the RGB controller it was just the overall pricing that made me form my opinion. I'm happy to see there's a new gen 2 controller and it looks like they have reduced the price which makes them a much better purchase now. At the time of making this video they were $99 AUD in Australia and there were many better options available at that price with much better RGB controllers for those that don't have motherboard RGB control. Overall I still really like the design they are different compared to many other fans on the market but they could definitely be improved a bit.

@iHooligan
@iHooligan Жыл бұрын
If your mobo has a 3pin rgb control then you can use them without the controller, as of compatibility. If it doesn't that's why it comes with the controller, more than likely will work. But they are on the "noisy" side when on turbo or full-speed. Quiet on standard

Hahaha I know what you mean. From the side view I liked them because you get good lighting front and back of the fan. But looking at them front on I didn't really like them. I thought the outer ring was really thin and made of very cheap looking plastic. Being clear you could also easily see where the LEDs were sitting which I don't like. I reckon they could of done a better job with these especially for the price
