The canal by Worsley really is picturesque with the style of houses and trees roundabout I used to pass by there twice a day on my way to school and back.. That was the early seventies. In America, Fred and his lady would be have been thrown out to the street. A fully grown man and his wife??? Pathetic. There are plenty of jobs and places they could have moved to and start a new life. Very juvenile and entitled. And Vera Duckworth would be fired for her attitude and demands.
@londonlady227 Жыл бұрын
Pretty clueless rent you about the state of the UK back then. High unemployment and many lived one paystub to another. I would say that Fred should've had savings to give them options as well as Eunice, as she had a full time job too. Personally I think Mrs Walker was too hard considering how long Fred worked there.
@larkatmic Жыл бұрын
@@londonlady227 Thanks for responding, Maybe so. But any man no matter what time or era, should never allow his lady to roost over him. When you do you will suffer. He should have, like you said, saved while working and made clear to his wife that she must follow his lead to leave Annie’s nest, not to use a situation conceived by her to stay. Now he is just playing like his wife in victimhood, that he helped in creating. And everyone can see how pathetic he has become. Mrs. Walker has always been a shrew and uncaring for her long term employees. Fred knew this about her for years as he wise crackingly talked behind her back on many episodes lol. I just love this show!

Very rare for Deirdre to put any effort into making Tracey feel ok about being left. She is mostly far too busy putting herself (and whichever man is in favour that particular week) first. Rita is such a cow. That Maurice could be a perv, and she's encouraging him to paint Mavis nude Love Elsie Tanner. I cannot stand, Poison Ivy, Fred or Eunice. Annie Walker is being unreasonable though. And Billy cannot be coming to stay, because according to the Corrie Wiki Fandom site, the last time he appeared in 1979, was the last time he worked with Doris Speed I just love the way they all walk in and out of each others houses on Coronation Street. There is no way that was happening in the 1970s and 1980s. I've asked older members of my family about that. It's definitely artistic licence These episodes are new to me, as they were made before my time, just. So, Thanks for the upload
