7:07 I like how Seth cares about whether he is pronouncing seppuku right, but not harakiri, which he pronounced totally, utterly wrong. Herikeri is not a thing. Though if it was a thing, it would mean something like "helicopter kick." Also, fun fact: "seppuku" is basically "harakiri" backwards. harakiri = 腹切 (though commonly written as 腹切り), seppuku = 切腹. For harakiri you use the Japanese reading of the kanji (kun-yomi) and for seppuku you use the Chinese reading of the kanji (on-yomi); that's why it doesn't simply become kirihara and is seppuku instead. Both mean the same thing, though. 腹 = abdomen, stomach; 切 = to cut.

Here's an unusual anecdote I thought all of the other Corrections watchers might enjoy of the imagined pain Seth caused with this weird, wonderful little world he's created for us. I've watched every Corrections since day one and, although never commenting myself, I've delighted in the back and forth between Seth and the jackals. For the past week I've had a major salmonella infection, causing excruciating stomach pain and delusions from a high fever. For the past few days, I've been delusional that Seth had a segment on his show featuring the 12 Days of Christmas, but I noticed their count was off in the graphics. (Obviously the graphics department looking for a Christmas chiding.) I typed up my jackaly comment, and was notified by Seth's team that they were going to build real versions of the graphics as part of a year end Corrections finale (something like 12 Mac Tonight's, 11 veiny eyeballs...). For some reason, I could feel when they were building the props and it was causing my intense stomach pain. I felt relief when they were done, but, everytime another jackal pointed the miscount, they build another set wanting to multiply the comic effect. For three days, I've begged Seth and his team to stop building the props, but they keep saying, "Just one more." While my body wanted them them to stop, my mind has appreciated his dedication to the bit and looked forward to seeing it. In this moment of clarity, I realize that I'm never going to see the bit that caused all my suffering. I feel disappointed that my suffering at Seth's hands have been for not, but I accept it as my penance for the joy Corrections has brought me. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's to Seth, Wally, Mikey the Shoe, and everyone at Late Night. Stay away from canteloup!

Thank you, Seth, for including Animal Flubs for the last CORRECTIONS of the year. My husband and I fist bumped each other, we’re old. I squealed. You are most definitely our favorite. We hope that you and John Oliver have a fantastic time at your upcoming show. Happy, safe, healthy and wonderful new year to you, your family, staff and anyone reading this post, even if you claim to not be a fan🙄😹. God bless

I still love animal flubs so, so much. I also want to compliment whichever writer cobbled the syllables of "gobo bajampas" together. It made me do a spit take and it's an objectively better title than Baba O'Riley.

I've loved Corrections since Episode 1, but never left a comment before (I'm only a Jackal in the privacy of my living room). But I really want to thank Seth for these last few weeks when his angst about his impending 50th birthday coincided with my own and helped me through it. I lift my negroni to you (mine has an orange peel). Today was my 50th birthday and, one day in, the dread has evaporated and been replaced by a sense of freedom and gratitude. I wish the same for you, Seth, and all good things in the year ahead. Thank you to everyone who makes Corrections happen - it's wonderful, funny, and very special.

Penelope bought the dress at Saks but kept the receipt and after the party she delicately unraveled the stitching on the tulle underskirt and returned to the store complaining the dress was flawed; but the sales associate sent her to customer complaints, where a supercilious older woman told Penelope this was a special occasion dress and since Thanksgiving had just passed, that counted as a special occasion, and the store was not accepting returns or refunds on special occasion dresses. At which point Penelope became very upset stating she had purchased the dress for New Year’s Eve, and only in inspecting it carefully had she noticed the unraveled hem. At which point the older customer service representative suggested Penelope have the flaw mended (at her own expense) as it wasn’t really irreparable, at which point Penelope became very exercised and loud and insistent, demanding to see the general manager, but the manager was purportedly not in and after Penelope refused to take a business card with the number of the main office, the older woman became quite stern , stating she was about to call Security to escort Penelope off the premises. Penelope then burst into tears, screamed “ Forget it! Do you think I need your lousy dress or your money? My father is an attorney and you will be hearing from him!” Then she threw the dress down, stormed out of the building, got into her 2020 Kia, lay her head down on her steering wheel and wept, because the $800 she had paid for the dress on sale represented her last month’s rent money for the room in the apartment in Encino she shares with 3 other girls, she’s already late paying, and she bought the dress on her dad’s Visa in the first place.
