Can you post a video on how to install a solenoid on that tractor.

I wish I had a sleeve hitch like that for mine. I think it’s cool how it hooks into the deck lift.

How did you adjust the break???

Wow $40.00 initial investment for a utilitarian farm machine is a steal, looks like a twin cylinder too, good job Erik, certainly beats pushing a wheel barrow around all day that would cost twice as much. Thanks for sharing!.

This is certainly one of my better investments. It's a beast and really cuts down on my "shovel time".

Those are great tractors , I worked many years at a New Holland /John Deere dealer , the Craftsmans even now are as good and some a lot better than the Deere products made now .

How's it doing in 2023?
@FarpointFarms7 ай бұрын
Still working away down the road from me. I sold it 2 years back to a friend and he uses it for his small farm.

Thanks for the videos! I've been watching all of your garden tractor videos, great work, thanks. I would like to ask your opinion. I'm about to buy a used GT, a 93 craftsman gt6000 or an 85 John Deere 212. Which, in your opinion would be the tougher, more capable machine? Both are in about the same used/fair condition. I plan to do some grading, plowing, etc. I live on 16 acres, garden, heat with wood, and I'm a good mechanic. Thanks for any input you may offer.

where did you pick up the tires from?
@homesteadspirit92097 жыл бұрын
i followed your example and got a 1994 White GT-185 to use as my new Mower but ended up deciding it is better suited for the garden and my John Deere X500 will be my new mower lol

I'm loving my setup so far, Hope yours works just as good!

That things looking mean any pulley mods?
@FarpointFarms7 жыл бұрын
No no speed mods, the Hi/Lo trans seems to fit my needs at the speeds it works at. This is a working tractor, so top speed is less of a concern than pulling power.

Been buying from Sears as well, and the taxes they put on you along with the shipping cost make a man wonder WTF!!
@paradoxdea6 жыл бұрын
Did you say ag tires? Us that short for agricultural tires? Just wondering.
@FarpointFarms6 жыл бұрын
Yes. Ag, Lug, Chevron are all words used to describe Agricultural tires on these things. 99% of these come with "Turf tires" That sport a almost street tread. They work great on flat dry grass, and terrible on just about all other surfaces. Its an expensive upgrade, but in my opinion totally worth it if you intend to use your tractor for things other than mowing.
@jhitt796 жыл бұрын
Farpoint Farms "bar tires" is another term for the ag. tires.

Hey where did you get those wheel weights at? Did you pay $80 a piece or $80 for the set?
@FarpointFarms5 жыл бұрын
$80 for the set brand new at Sears. Keep an eye on the sales as they come up this time of year for that price.

I'm in the mountains of North Carolina. I live at about 3800 feet, So even though NC is usually a pretty hot place, My area is more like northern PA in the climate department. Cold, and usually very snowy winters, mild rainy summers. How about you?
@homesteadspirit92097 жыл бұрын
im in south PA right near the Mason Dixon Line actually. our summers are super hot and our winters are freaking cold. you just always talk about the conditions and i feel like they are very much like mine

Man I would bet that's a 5000 not a 6000. But to tell the truth I can 't tell much difference 5's and 6s of the year range.
@FarpointFarms7 жыл бұрын
The Stickers on the hood and front say "Craftsman II GT6000" so I have to imagine its a 6000 unless someone put new stickers on it early in life.
@fracturedhearts37347 жыл бұрын
Well maybe my two older ones are the 6000's? But any who I got a 91,99 and a 2003 the 03 is a GT5000 and as far as I can tell they are the same tractor .
