I just made this for lunch. I added 2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast and 1 tsp of Sriracha. I also used homemade cashew milk. This is the best sauce I have made since starting this lifestyle. I have tried a few different red pepper sauce recipes and they were not that great. Everyone should try this. I am addicted! Thank you Joey and I hope you are feeling well.

Just tried it here in Scotland! Absolutely gorgeous! I am vegetarian not vegan but this is something I will make regularly! Delicious! Love your channel!

I realize this is an old video, but I just wanted to chime in that the best noodles for soaking up sauce are either shells or spiralized noodles like rotini. I learned that from watching Alton Brown's episode on pasta. He also has a great shortcut of cooking pasta in cold water, which has the added benefit of extra pasta water to thicken up sauces!

Wow, that sauce really thickened up! It looks tasty, and can't wait to make this.

Julie, I felt like I was eating something really bad for me because it was sooooo good. For the 1/2 cup cashews you get 3-4 servings out of it so its really low in whole food fats. If you are making it for lunches during the week, its even a smaller portion because I eat a lot of fruit with lunches so I don't need as big as a serving.

I ate this for like two weeks straight and then I see this! Makes me want it again! So so good. I'll try your version this time! ❤️

Which is very close to how I make mine. I add 2 roasted peppers instead of 1.5, 1/4c nutritional yeast and 1/2tsp dried basil in addition to what you use and blend!

There was another viewer who had told me her husband wouldn't eat vegan food because it was too wimpy. So I made the pasta video just for him. His name was Keith too. I mean, this pasta is anything but wimpy, right? So I thought it would be a good. options for her to make for him to change his mind. Thanks so much for watching. Tell Keith I said hello!

For those of us with multiple nut allergies... I have hemp and sunflower seeds in my refrigerator. I wonder if one of these could substitute for the cashews. Your dish looks delicious! Linda D.

@PlantBasedDads2 жыл бұрын
Yes!! Baby steps is what its all about. He doesn't have to be a vegan or even plant based, but eating more veggies will make a huge different at this point. We can work on the rest later. Right?

I made this today, but was skeptical about it ever thickening up. It did! I added crushed red pepper, but then I always need more spice.
@PlantBasedDads2 жыл бұрын
Once you throw the pasta in there, the starch from the pasta speeds up the thickening process. Did you like it?

Can't do nuts, here. Pine nuts are a 'creamy' type of seed, and adding other seeds will help make a replacement flavour. Not the same taste as cashew, but if one can't eat nuts, it does pretty good. This looks very good but how can that be enough for y'all? My kid would eat that whole pan, their self!

I can't find cashews that are processed without milk particulate on it. Where do you get your cashews? Thanks for sharing.
@PlantBasedDads2 жыл бұрын
Coscto. They have a container that is just raw cashews, nothing else in the container. They also have one that has oil in the container so make sure to read the label. I made that mistake once.

This is unbelievable, but I live in a small city in west Texas and about all they have is a Walmart. No way I can get the ingredients for this recipe. I’m know, right?! I will need to travel to big city to find red roasted peppers.
@PlantBasedDads2 жыл бұрын
You can just get red peppers and throw them on your burner on your gas stove and char them. You can also just toss them in the oven and roast them. Don't go to a store to get special ingredients to make one of my meals. I would had to think you had to do that. Use ingredients from your home. I would much rather you keep it simple. Seriously, just roast a pepper at home and you will accomplish the same thing. When you make this, let me know how it goes, ok? Good luck!
