Did you decide to use the migration assistant?
@majkoo3 ай бұрын
@@baniarora6312hey, i’m a different person but i’ve just switched to an m1 max from a maxed 2019 i9 build and i’ve used migration assistant, some apps i’ve redownloaded as the native silicon version, but others are either not supported (so they are run with rosetta by default), or already silicon compatible. I would say if you have 200+ apps and 1000+ plugins for certain of your apps like me it’s definitely worth using migration assistant, even at the cost of some storage getting filled up by useless files. If you don’t need that many apps and/or have all of the installers (in my case i had lost some installers for old legacy plugins) then I’d recommend you do a clean install. Hope this helped!

Wow! Who are you? I am currently contemplating a switch to Mac from Windows. This is the first self-education post I visited with many questions about deployment, migration, look, and clarity of the device. I rarely comment on KZbin unless this is warranted. I commend you highly for the structure and quality of your video tutorial. Well done!

Easy setup tutorial. Another personal favourite setup I like to do for the trackpad is the three-finger drag lock. It’s quite a hidden trick on the mac setting, but man it makes dragging items on the computer so much better! I’ve been using this trick since my first MacBook in 2010! To set it up, open system settings, choose accessibility on the left hand menu, scroll down to pointer control, click trackpad options, enable dragging with three fingers, and let it change your life!
@ReceiveMusic8 ай бұрын
Now that's an actual useful tip. I wonder if it also works with the separate track pad slab that Apple sells.

If you save everything to iCloud or an external TB4 drive it's quite easy just to ignore migration and just copy things back over. Excellent and very through setup guide, especially for first time Mac users! I should have had my wife watch this but guess the bonding time setting up her new MacBook was worth it :)

The mouse wheel I actually prefer the way it comes. The reason is I am used to a mouse wheel. And with a mouse wheel if you spin the wheel 1 direction like forward so the wheel moves back to front... then if there were anything below that wheel the wheel would grip it and slide it down. Since a wheel inverts the direction the other side would move. I do not get why they do not call that natural because it 100% is natural according to physics itself. Like get a pencile with rubber on it.. hold the pencil steady and spin it.. the paper moves the opposite direction.. because thats how rotational force works. Furthermore take your finger and put it on the mouse wheel.. scroll it forward and keep your finger pointing that direction.. which way is it pointing? Up... pull it towards you and your now pointing down. So not only is it more natural in physics, but it's more natural to the direction your hand is pointing. I think calling it not narutal is not natural lol.

Yes you can create a new Apple ID. Do note that none of the data that's stored on the old account will transfer to your new account. So if you bought any apps, games, movies, music, subscriptions, etc, those will not transfer nor are they transferable to a new account.
