@carlmarks81702 жыл бұрын
@@tapanbhattacharjee9180 Their careers of Marshall and Andy Roberts only overlapped for 9 test matches played over 3 or 4 different series. Never against Australia. That famous quartet played 2 consecutive tests on the 1980 tour of England, and they were together for the 1983 home series vs India. Roberts was nearing the end of his career. Marshall, Holding and Garner were the 3 mainstays during Marshall's first 50 test matches from 1979-1986; with a revolving door of bowlers in the 4th slot... Roberts (9 matches), Colin Croft (7), Sylvester Clarke (6), Wayne Daniel (5), Winston Davis (10), Eldine Baptiste (7), Roger Harper (16), Patrick Patterson (6) and Courtney Walsh (9), plus few others for 1 or 2 tests. (These all add up to more than 50 matches because the Windies often played 5 bowlers; and Holding & Garner missed a few tests here and there with injuries.) Imran Khan should not be grouped with Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. His best days as a bowler were well behind him in the 13 test matches he played with those other two from 1989-1992.. He took just 21 wickets at average of 35.00. Wasim & Waqar took 70 wickets apiece at an average of 21.00 and 19.00 in that time period. It was a formidable duo. Not a trio. Why am I not surprised you didn't mention the Aussie bowling attack of Warne, McGrath, Gillespie, Lee (and MacGill) ? They dominated. They probably took more wickets and won more test matches for their country than any other bowling combo.
