Essentially this is what I'm getting from the judge: although Gunna is presumed innocent and the state is still yet to actually prove the claims made in its proffers, these claims are so compelling as to legitimize denying him bond, especially because there have been no significant changes which foster an effective counter narrative enough to justify bond.

What would happen if someone refuses to testify due to mental illness? Say they're paranoid or delusional and think that their testifying can cause some disaster to occur. Would they still be found in contempt for refusing testimony, be subjected to forced mental health treatment, or would they be allowed to not testify at all without punishment in light of circumstance?

Sufficient probable cause to effectively warrant making an arrest and the proof beyond reasonable doubt required to secure a conviction of the criminal charges that person faces are two very distinctly different things. What you're saying skips over leagues and bounds of logic and reason. If ironclad 100% proof was required for someone to be arrested then what purpose could a trial possibly serve?
