the “Scarlet Witch” is basically a mythical being so they’re saying that Wanda has had powers forever and the mind stone amplified them, rather than just giving them to her. So she’s basically a prophecy being fulfilled. Also, at the end, she was astral projecting like Dr. Strange, except she was doing it while her body was awake

Then she made a conscious choice to selfishly flee and practice black magic in a cave instead of amending what she did to 8,000 people and facing repercussions based on US laws and the Sokovia Accords. But hey, they arrested the guy who was trying to stop her from mind-raping 8,000 innocent people (including children) so she's the hero, right?

@@yodieyuh Being human is not a crime. There is literally no fault of hers. She had a nervous breakdown. And that's all. I don't know if you can understand sub-con-sci-ou-sly. Her memory was erased. She doesn't understand her own powers, what was happening and how did it happen, how many times has this been emphasized? So she flies away, accepting everything and abandoning her main dream forever, having lost everything in life, she wants to understand her powers because that's literally all she has now. Completely devastated, she just wants to study herself, man, and THE BOOK BEGINS TO CORRUPT HER. In fact, she deserves all the happiness in life. And she feels how unfairly this universe treats her, she always did. The whole world is turned against her, for no reason, just because fans need a canon. And she still knows she's right. Because she's so strong. Because she didn't do anything. Just dreamed of an amazing life that she fully deserved. And neither you all nor the producers will convince her otherwise. All her life, she only lost everything and sacrificed her happiness for the sake of others, without receiving anything in reward, the only one of all them. She doesn't even have to feel sorry, but she does. So year, she is the greatest hero of this whole universe. I won't even talk about the SWORD chief...

@@yodieyuh she’s not “practicing black magic in a cave.” She’s in a cabin, not a cave. And she has no idea what the Darkhold really is, how could she? And how do YOU propose she be punished for what she’s done? She’s literally one of the most powerful beings in existence. Prisons and power dampening collars (does the MCU even have those?) arent going to work if she gets angry or sad or stressed now that her powers are coming into full effect. What she did, by isolating herself, and trying to deal with her emotions and fully understand her powers is literally the safest option. It’s probably why she’s studying the Darkhold. For some knowledge & understanding. It’s not her fault she doesn’t know what it is, or what it’s probably doing to her. So, please, tell me. How would you punish her? How could she possibly make amends at that precise moment in time?

When Agatha says 'Your power exceeds the sorcerer supreme' she is referring to the head of Magic on Earth, which is Dr Strange. If you remember in End Game Wanda starts beating down on Thanos so hard that he orders his ship to 'rain fire' on his position. At this point she doesn't know her strength but its alluded to that she is one of the strongest beings in the entire universe and potentially all its different Threads (Multiverse). The post credit scene is up for debate but I like to think her children still exist in the Universe, maybe in the spirit realm, maybe in an alternative reality within the multiverse. This 'Superhero' show had some super 'human' emotions and conflict and I love it. Thanks for watching it Mary. I always look forward to your reactions! ;)

Wanda had to watch Vision die twice and once by her own hand then immediately got snapped away so that she didn't have time to grieve. The show is all about Wanda going through the stages of grief from denial creating the town like the sitcoms she longed for to live with Vision in to anger with Monica and Fietro for threatening it to depression that she can't get Vision to stop questioning it to bargaining with the people to stay and finally acceptance of the need to let go and say goodbye to Vision and the kids that she didn't get the chance to do before.

I sat down & figured it out after the series started. She only had a few months to grieve over Pietro until Infinity War. Then She killed Vision, saw him resurrected & killed again, then snapped out of existence. The she came back in Endgame, but from her point of view Vision's death was just a few minutes ago. Recall when Monica came back? That's when Bruce snapped his fingers, so when Wanda visited the SWORD facility it was just a few days later. She had gotten _NO_ time to grieve for Vision. When you consider how little time had passed for her since Vision died, is it any surprise she snapped?

This show has a forever spot in my heart. I started watching it right after both of my parents passed away. The way it portrays the stages of grief is beautifully done. How we hurt those around us without even realizing it, because we are hurting so much that we lose ourselves in our own fantasy. Because if we are lost in our own world, we can't be hurt by the real one. We would rather forget the truth and try so desperately to cling on to what was. But we come to the realization that they will never return. We will never see them again, hold them again, love them again. Not the same way we once did. The little moments we used to take for granted, we now hold like a seed in our hearts, yearning to grow again.

Yay! I've been looking forward to your reaction to the finale, and I was not disappointed! Some notes to fill in your blanks: (1) You keep criticizing Wanda for doing XYZ, but the fact is that she wasn't consciously doing it. As we see when she visits the town for the first time, she is so overwhelmed by grief that her powers go haywire and create the fantasy world. It's her trauma manifesting and trying to heal itself in physical form, because that's what her powers do. Just like if a very strong man had a seizure, he would have no control over whether his flailing muscular arms injured somebody, Wanda isn't in control here. When someone is deeply traumatized, their brain's ability to function is affected, and the affects are even worse for a superpowered person. On some level she has an inkling that this is not real, but it's her unconscious that's creating and powering the world -- and as psychiatrists will tell you, the unconscious is not an easy thing for the conscious self to overrule. Plus, Agatha was mucking around in there, making things infinitely more difficult. That Wanda was able to fight both Agatha and her traumatized unconscious once she realized what was happening is incredibly impressive. (2) In the X-Men universe Wanda Maximoff is the Scarlet Witch and Pietro is Quicksilver. Until Disney bought Fox, who owned the rights to the X-Men franchise, Marvel could not call them by those names. They are instituting that in the story now by making "The Scarlet Witch" a specific title. We'll learn a lot more about it in an upcoming movie (which Wanda will appear in). (3) As you've seen here, Wanda grew up with a love of family-centered sitcoms, and that's how her fantasy world was populated. But what I haven't seen you mention, so I'm assuming nobody explained, is that each episode draws on a different era of sitcoms, starting in 1955 (exactly 60 years before Age Of Ultron, when Wanda was first introduced). That's why each episode features different styles, clothes, houses, and theme songs -- they change according to the era and the shows it encompasses. 1955-1965 is shows like I Love Lucy and Dick Van Dyke; 1965-1975 is Bewitched and I Dream Of Jeannie; 1975-1985 is Brady Bunch and Mary Tyler Moore, 1985-1995 is Family Ties, Growing Pains, and Full House; 1995-2005 is Roseanne and Malcolm In The Middle; and 2005-2015 is the talk-to-the-camera style of Modern Family. I know this was a lot, but I hope it helps you understand! I can't wait to see you react to Falcon And The Winter Soldier!!!

One thing you allude to that is totally true is that the episodes are short, because unlike in network broadcast television where episodes must fit a certain time slot, streaming content can be as short or as long as it needs to be. No fluff if it's too short and no editing out good stuff if it's too long. This is one of the areas where streaming is much better than regular television. Anyway, great series. I almost gave up after the first two episodes of watching it because it just wasn't my cup of tea, but I'm glad I stuck with it. This and Loki have been two of my favorite MCU projects since Avengers Endgame.

10:11 Altogether now...."It was Agatha all alooooong..." (So many sighs from everyone who knew this all alooong). Agatha is a character from the comics but she's an old woman in those, that's why this even fooled people who knew the comics. 17:07 That line ripped many hearts out. 18:39 The thing is...he ISN'T THEIRS EITHER, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner made him. He belonged to them and I'm sure they would let Wanda do whatever she wanted with him. This series and Loki are really important for bringing other things apart from the superpowers people know into the MCU, Loki is especially important for the forthcoming movies, obviously I won't say why. I think you'll love Loki, the Falcon and The Winter Soldier is the weakest of the 4 series but the African American part of the story is pretty gutsy. "What If?..." is excellent as well with many of the MCU actors actually voicing their parts, including Chadwick Boseman before he passed.

re: "He isn't yours." "He isn't yours either!" I had the same thought watching this. "Wouldn't he be Tony's?" But then I remembered that while the original Ultron body was just a spare Iron Man suit/Iron Legion drone... It's not like the vibranium belonged to Tony and Bruce. I think Ultron took the vibranium from Klaue/Wakanda to make himself a better body, which then became Vision instead, right? So the vibranium he was made of is in an ambiguous international state of ownership, but it definitely doesn't belong to Tony.

Such a beautiful show that really takes on "grief" in such interesting ways. I've seen ppl say she's using her powers to avoid grief but everything in here is step for step in the grieving process. Sometimes grief takes a zigzag path instead of a straight line, and sometimes our grief hurts others, before we learn to accept and fully move on. Yeah, we don't have the capabilities to create a full on reality and trap other people, but... we kind of do. hahaha I think you'll like the other Marvel shows. "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" had some issues (as did WandaVision) re: filming during a pandemic. But while "WandaVision" was able to navigate those waters pretty deftly, you can see a lot more of the seams on "FATWS." It's still pretty high quality, but not as fully immersive as "WandaVision." "Loki," on the other hand, is freaking incredible. It's one of my favorite things Marvel has ever done and is so so so so smart in so many interesting and unexpected ways. What "WandaVision" did for Wanda's heart via her grief, "Loki" does for Loki via his narcissism and his need to control. If you decide to watch those, I think you'll enjoy them, reaction videos or not.

She has the power to help the 8,000 people she just mentally broke, but instead she flies to a cave to practice Black Magic. Is that what you are framing as "accept and fully move on"? Part of Wanda's character building was her relationship with the Sokovia Accords. In WandaVision she expresses zero concern for the Accords and zero concern for Laws in general. It's a really big step backwards for her character progression.

So what's awesome about this is that "Scarlett Witch" is who Wanda is in the comics, but a lot of us didn't even realize that she wasn't even referred to by that name once in the movies. So we basucally got Wanda's origin story in Age of Ultron and over the last 6 years she's become a massive fan favorite that people love...but this show gave us the origin of Scarlett Witch. A unique approach to an origin story for sure. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is next. This story with Wanda is continuing in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness (coming in May 2022), and Marvel recently announced a "Agatha: House of Harkness" show coming to Disney+.

Agatha's (Agnes) mother's brooch is actually an Energy Gem. A power reserve totem. This energy is converted to the energy needed for the conjurations. These gems are created with magic. In practice, The Eye of Agamoto (which contains the time jewel) is also a totem that contains a lot of energy from the Time dimension.

I was in severe emotional pain when I watched this episode, just for distraction you know. This single line broke me into tiny bits. It's painfully beautiful and well, the acting is on point. It's one of the most beautiful, bittersweet marvel scenes ever for me.

Shows like Modern Family, The Office, Parks and Rec have that interview style Well, witches have a reputation of eating children 😉 The interviewer’s voice is actually Agatha’s toned down Nexus could refer to two or three things. Apparently there was something in Thor Dark World but I don’t recall. There’s the Nexus, a cross-dimensional gateway which provides a pathway to any and all possible realities. And Wanda is a Nexus being, _rare individual entities with the ability to affect probability and thus the future, thereby altering the flow of the Universal Time Stream. These beings, each referred to as a nexus, act as the keystones of the Multiverse and are crucial to its ultimate coherence and stability._ Agatha Harkness in the comics was Wanda’s magic teacher. She was also…not quite a villain but also not quite a hero. Like she fought the avengers once or twice I think Game? I hope you mean there’s modern day games because the Salem Witch Trials were very much not a game Agatha said “I’m gonna snack on Yo Magic” Yes, she was quiet because her thoughts were never open to them, but also she didn’t have her real personality suppressed like everyone else in the town. Wanda’s superhero name was always Scarlet Witch, but it was never established in the MCU until this show Apparently the commercials were gonna be revealed to be Doctor Strange’s doing, trying to reach her

Wanda and Pietro Maximoff are The Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Those are their superhero names. The Scarlet Witch is a power and title passed down. Wanda and Pietro's mother, Natalya Maximoff, was the previous Scarlet Witch. The powers of the Scarlet Witches are Chaos Magic, drawn from a demonic pact with the dark god/demon lord Chthon, who lives in/is imprisoned under Mt. Wundagore - the mountain in Transia/Sokovia that they grew up on/near. The Darkhold itself (the spellbook) is the book of evil written by Chthon. Technically, the Darkhold is merely a small excerpt of the writings on the walls of the sunken city of R'lyeh - the city where the ancient star god Cthulhu sleeps, dreaming madness into the world.

We still have the white vision to deal with. Has he now recieved the visions feelings along with his thought processes? In comics, when Thor, Giant Man and the Wasp, along with Iron Man left the Avengers., Captain America kept the group going. His lineup was Hawkeye, Quicksilver and the Scarlet witch. In comics, Wanda was always known as the Scarlet witch.

I really loved this show and your reaction to it (all your reaction videos actually). I think it has been verified that Dr. Strange was supposed to appear in the show and that he was trying to contact Wanda via the "commercials". Marvel decided that they didn't want to draw focus away from Wanda's story. Of the shows released so far, I think this one is 2nd best or maybe tied for 1rst. Looking forward to Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

I don't know everything about what Agatha really wanted, but I don't view her as a villain, she killed her coven and her mother because they tried to kill her, when she begged them not to she didn't beg for herself, she begged for them to not make her kill them. She came to Westview to figure out what was going on, her reasoning for wanting to take Wanda's powers was mostly about not trusting Wanda with the power which is justified considering what she did to all the people in the town, of course she wanted the power for herself too which is why I wouldn't call her a hero either, we don't know enough about her yet.

Just in case that you didn't understand. The Pale Vision is the original vision that we know and were being taken apart. Hayward was lying to his team that Wanda stole Vision so she looks bad. But in the end we see that Hayward brought him back as merely a weapon. As you have seen, the new Vision was made purely from the infinity stone energy, magic and Wanda's memory. So when the two visions were talking about the Theseus Ship, the new vision gave Pale Vision the memory it lost. But now, pale vision is like a hardware drive. He has all the file memories, but not the emotion of actually feeling like he experienced it himself And yea, we wanna marry Vision too lol

The Darkhold is a very dangerous dark magic book. The more you read and study it, the more it can corrupt. The fact that Wanda has her magical side projected away from her body to study it, awake, means that as powerful as she is, that Darkhold can make her an even more dangerous problem if she becomes corrupted by it. That book was a major story arc in one of the seasons for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. tv show. May I suggest you watch that, too? Agnes said that there was a whole chapter about the Scarlet Witch in the book, which means that Wanda will be even more of an op than she already is. Especially now that she's heard her kids calling to her from another dimension. She will probably keep digging for a way to find them. Although, she may be getting tricked by a new villain that hasn't been introduced into the MCU. He may not be, because he is like the MCU's version of the devil...in a way. Mephisto is his name. There are some countries who will not allow such programs because of their religious beliefs. From what we know, Wanda will be featured in Dr. Strange's Multiverse of Madness movie. Idk if that will be to help him fix some problems, or cause them, but she will definitely be back. The person that Skrull was referring to as the old friend of Monica's mother, is Nick Fury. At the end of the last Spiderman movie, Talos was imitating Nick, while he was on a Skrull space station...which is probably the space headquarters for S.W.O.R.D that he and Maria Rambeau built together. Nick is always thinking one step ahead. S.H.I.E.L.D mostly dealt with any earth threats. But most of S.H.I.E.L.D is still trying to rebuild its reputation and get back to the reason why it was built to begin with. I believe S.W.O.R.D is for the protection of the Galaxy or universe. Hopefully, The Guardians and Thor will make an appearance on the space station.

WandaVision was such a fantastic start to the MCU TV series. Elizabeth Olson really got to stretch out the character of Wanda, as did Paul Bettany with Vision. Not enough praise can be given to Kathryn Hahn as well, she was amazing as Agatha/Agnes. I have to imagine that we're getting an Agatha Harkness series based solely on the strength and popularity of her performance
