After months of requests for it, the first installment of the multi-part series on Airbrushing has arrived! This video is meant to give the very basics of airbrushing by first going over the components that you'll need to get started and what to look for when shopping for equipment.
The following videos will get much more in depth and will eventually lead up to a full build/paint along video!
Other videos I have uploaded related to this video are below:

Anyone else wishing the Ninja Jet came with a pressure gauge so they could know what pressure their air was set to? Maybe somebody has a link to an aftermarket pressure gauge that will fit on this compressor?

I have a compressor with a relatively large tank, so I don't have to keep it on all the time. The downsides are the weight and size... has wheels tho! Please tech us the paint preparation and mixing to create new colors. Great video as always! ❤

Thank you for sharing. I do have a couple of questions if you can kindly help me with. I am thinking to start to go into airbrushing and I am looking to get a compressor, I am eyeing on Iwata Ninja or Silver Jet because I will have to do it on the balcony, hence I will be carrying the compressor in and out of the house whenever I am going to do airbrushing. 1. Some folks in the forum said it is best to get something with an air storage tank so that the pressure is steady. Since you are using Iwata Ninja, I would wanna know if the air flow is steady always? 2. The working psi for Iwata Ninja is 1-15, and required PSI for some paint type is around 20-30 ish, will Iwata Ninja be sufficient? 3. Which brand and model would recommend other than Iwata Ninja?
@Steve-dr7rr

Good video are you going to cover compressors with a air tank which are even quieter as it stores air. Not sure if you other airbrush goes in tip first so it protects the end

I just purchased a used Iwata ninja same top fed one you are used. I’m a tattoo artist and I want to do art on automotive products. I’m a beginner so first off thanks for your videos. For doing metal what is the best airbrush and what’s the best paint for somebody on a budget. I’m starting with doing my brothers race truck that he will kill me if I mess up. Well I need help! I’m a complete beginner. Thanks. I didn’t get instructions with my used iwata compressor
@Curioventura
@Curioventura 3 жыл бұрын
Ok so first off, thanks for the questions! Second, Tamiya is fantastic, relatively cheap paint thats easy to clean with alcohol. Second, check out the Candy finish video i did. I'm sure it'll help you quite a bit as I use metallics in that. Take your time and practice your airbrush control on a sheet of paper first. You'll get it. Just take it slow

I live in a condo as well so my biggest concern and the reason i haven't started airbrushing is the area I'm in. If you could talk about how to airbrush in a condo/apartment and the setup involved i would greatly appreciate it. I'm just concerned about my surroundings, i dont want to get paint on them(how likely with a spray booth?) or make too much vibration for my neighbor below(is there anything i can put below the compressor to help with that?). Fantastic videos, i will definitely be keeping my eye out for more!
@Curioventura

I have my compressors resting on a folded up towel and they're on my table, not the floor. In may years ive never had 1 single complaint. I have a spray booth that i made that works great in keeping the paint contained. Check out ebay and amazon for small portable spray booths with ventilators and filters on them. Those work pretty good and are inexpensive and easy to set up. Thanks for the input and support!!

I used to airbrush in my apartment, would have to set up everything near my patio door. A little tarp and setting my compressor on a towel just for extra measure. Got a spray booth and bought a dryer tube taped to the back of the vent leading outside the door of my patio
