I use blended low fat cottage cheese to replace mayo. Adds more protein and tastes great to me. I use it in potato salad, egg salad, etc. I also use it with mashed or baked potato instead of butter.

Another trick, if you really need your KD fix, is to replace both the butter & milk with 1C of 2% cottage cheese. Blend the cottage cheese, cheese powder, 1-2TB water & some spices (S&P, garlic powder, etc.). You may need to scrape down the sides, but within a minute you have a very creamy cheese sauce, with ~200 less calories, per half box and with higher protein. 😋

So true Mama Tenny 🤗 I'm lucky that I dislike mayo so I usually just use lemon or lime juice and mustard to flavour sandwich spreads. Specialty coffees can really add up too. A lot of the young folks I work with are addicted to these fancy coffees and don't realize that they are so high in calories. I have trained myself to enjoy black coffee. I have eliminated the use of oil in almost all of my cooking now and I don't miss it one bit. I also don't eat nuts because we have a fatal food allergy here at our house. To be honest I don't miss these one bit! I still get plenty of healthy fats by eating 1/4 to 1/2 an avocado a day and also by adding ground flax to my oatmeal and salads. You can save 100's of calories a day by eliminating oil. I love you in this pink blouse Nancy this colour really suits you 🥰

You make it all sound super easy! And it actually is easy, you just need to eat more consciously or shop consciously beforehand. I love bread... in Austria there are so many good varieties, but bread has a lot of calories. A dark, freshly baked black bread with butter and a soft-boiled egg and maybe some crispy bacon is sooo delicious, but not for every day! You have already eaten the calories for a whole day with this breakfast 🤣I had to google "KD"... it doesn't look very appetizing, so I can't be tempted. I prefer hummus as spread, avocado or curd cheese. I especially like these types of videos 👍

Hi Ines! Of course that happens, that’s life!! We can’t be crazy strict with unrealistic diets! If you’ve been able to develop healthy habits that you adhere to and enjoy regularly, then just go back to normal the next day. Don’t try to cut back to overcompensate, just carry on! The good daily habits are vital to maintain a consistent weight. ❤️ Happy New Year!

Well your definitely right on the condiments (btw i drink black coffee lol) would have to agree to disagree, i would ditch the mac n cheese, potatoes, and toast (or atleast lo-carb the toast) and load up on the butter and bacon, but at the end of the day its all about CICO (i have found though ditching carbs down to fruits and vege and upping fat really improved my health in basically everyway) btw have a great 2024, hope your channel hits the next level

great tips!!!! - we don't realize how extra calories creep in - for me - i really cut back on smoothies - i thought i was making a healthy drink - but when i break it down - it was healthy - but also over 400 calories for what is essentially- a drink!!!!

Also there is another channel that always does unboxing of VCA and she called out another youtuber that is actually based in Toronto (I think) for having a fake VCA bracelet - she pointed out how she knew it was not authentic and then the other youtuber had her husband going crazy looking for receipts as they bought it from a well know jewelry reseller in Toronto - if you want more info I can direct you to the video's...

I can easily turn down cake and chips at parties.. People at work ask me if I ever feel like eating it and ask how my WILL power is so good. To be completely honest. The only things I really craved and missed while dieting down was egg yolks in a good sunny side up or soft boiled egg and grilled/airfried red meats .. But now I'm maintaining while having better athletic capabilities to use the extra calories. So they fit in my diet in moderation now.

Great video. Butter is indeed tasty bit adds so many calories and is very easy to overeat. This is like a lot of other things as you point out. Also the saturated fat is not ideal. Way better sources of fat for heart health. Also in moderation of course. You hit the nail on the head with all calorie dense food mindfulness is key.

Also , love the comment about the difference between Alfredo and tomato sauces! And if you can find the oil-free ones, so much the better! I prefer adding fat for flavor on my own terms. 😊
