How he turned a fallen tree into a MTB jump!

I turned a dead tree into this epic mountain bike jump with my chainsaw and it has a secret built-in that makes this jump perfect for beginners or advanced riders.
Using my Granberg Alaskan Mill I sliced up a fallen tree, then cut the lumber to the correct size and began constructing this mega backyard kicker. It was so big that I had to add wheelbarrow wheels to it so I could roll it around the property.
It was a really fun mountain bike trail build and I learnt a lot in the process.

What do you think of the landing? I think I'm going to make it a couple of feet taller so that it's more of a step up. Maybe even throw some mulch on it. That should help build some more confidence to start going bigger.

The landing is good as is! The crisp top of the landing looks so good, but rounded might make it safer to come up short with the nose. (I might be traumatized from broken an OTB broken nose experience from being just short fully commuted.) I agree that step ups are easier and technically you can send them deep and land where a long flat table would be. When you get the extra dirt you could slightly lower beyond the landing in all directions making the landing slightly longer in the process (in a way that drains).

The first is that the quality of your videos has improved so much with the new music and for example the design of the kicker. You didn't need to do it but you did and that really shows how much you value the quality of these videos. Secondly, you've inspired me to build my own bike trails and I just recently bought some land in Kangaroo Valley, just west of Woollongong to build my trails on. Thank you so much for choosing to do this, you make my day so much better whenever I watch your videos.

Landing so good and the take off is my favourite it’s so nice without eucalyptus. The chicken bridge is a really nice feature. Just keep it up. Your work is amazing. I wish I was as good as you at jump building.

Thanks mate! Yeah the raw eucalyptus looks so nice. It will fade pretty quickly in the sun. I'm pretty happy with this build.

Hey, I think making the landing a couple feet taller is a great idea, I'd love to hit that jump ! Can't wait to watch your next video, usually takes a longer time that I like to come out but always great quality !

Yeah I think a taller landing would be good. Just need a lot more dirt lol. I have a friend coming to help me build in the middle of January. So hopefully that makes the next video a little quicker.

Hows the riding in Ireland? I'll try to upload more over summer. I have a friend coming to help speed up the process but some of these builds take so long. For example milling the log only took about 1 minute of video but really I was out there for 4 days doing it. I had a few issues that ended up being a bit boring to include in the video.
