Nice. I used to do mobile wheel repair. Did 12-15 wheels a day for dealerships all over Phoenix. You really only need to go 120-320-500 on the discs. If you deflate the tire you can get in there better. Also, when you deflate it, you can use playing cards to mask the tire. Then roll a card up and tape it. Then slide the rolled up card over the valve stem to mask it. I could refinish and paint 4 wheels in 45 minutes.

I used your video to do my 2010 c300 my wife can’t park 🤣 it took me longer than 15 per wheel however they came out great and I did have them professionally powered coated then rebalanced before mounting them back on the car. My car has gunmetal gray wheels. The scratches are all only at the very edge nothing in the middle. I’m going to go to a high-end paint store and get some automotive grade paint to touch up after sanding down. Looking for a good video on repainting next. I wonder if I need to use clearcoat even with automotive grade paint? I’m guessing probably so. I’m also wondering if I can just paint a little bit of it with a foam brush or if I need to mask everything that I’m not painting and use my sprayer. also, I know some stores will put automotive grade paint in aerosol cans. I’ll probably just go that route.

BALANCE YOUR WHEEL before installing again on vehicle. Knocking material off unevenly as was done will knock your wheel balance off. Will wear out your tire unevenly and will not be as steady on the road, if alignment is off any bit at all.

While I have only watched 2 or 3 videos on wheel repair so far, this was far and away the best one yet. The narrative was clearly understandable, and you went step by step showing and explaining the whole process quite well. Unfortunately, I am not sure, I will have to look, but I think the damage done to the wheels on my car by the previous owner may not be repairable, as the " lip " on the wheels is a bit more pronounced.

Just did mine, had some roloc's, 120, 220 and 320. I used my die grinder, and a drill like yours along with some cotton polishing tips and tripoli compound. The only problems is clear coated Aluminum and painted wheel combo's. It's doable, just a lot more work polishing the sanded aluminum up to the original clear coated sections. Once I had the aluminum polished a little above satin I used some rattle can 2K clear to recoat the aluminum.

If you have a small curb rush, do not repaint. Follow the instructions to remove the damage, and basically polish that small area with a polisher until it's shiny. You won't be able to tell the difference from a distance.

Probably would be better to remove the tyre first so that you can radius the edge nicely and then paint it. Also avoids ripping into the tyre with the edge of the disk.

or let all the air out. I did that a while ago and it made masking the tyre a LOT easier, then I just put air back in it when it was done. But good video all the same!
