My friends and myself LOVED him. I’ll never forget that day. Me and 2 friends walked into this grocery store in Pa. and we heard it almost immediately over whatever radio station was playing on the speakers. I was 26, and it was one of the only times I full on cried as an adult. Very weird, I kinda ran into a corner because I didn’t want anyone to witness me crying. Then years went by, and I started having dreams of my dad quite often for a year where he wasn’t sick. It wasn’t like memories, it felt like new interactions. The dreams are fuzzy, but he eventually was like, I’m off. And I didn’t have anymore dreams about him after that. I don’t need to over analyze it. It might have been my brain doing this, or it could have been my dad talking to me. Regardless, it felt nice, and like closure.

In my opinion, I think they should have explained to you what happened, allowed you to go to the funeral, held your hand, and gave you as many hugs as possible.
