8:25 instead of sweating with big tools like mr. Dala there did, you could just rest the wire onto your cutting blade and gently roll it with your finger a bit on the blade, to cut through the insulation and then pull it off. And hint for Dala, when you do use the tool - add additional pressure on the tool top clamping bit, so the insulation doesnt slide off the tool easily ;) And if you are a beginner, dont use cutters for stripping :D This is just asking for trouble :D

A real good enjoyable vid. You know it is good when you watch the whole thing and you do not even own a Leaf. Instead of cutting into the OBD 2 wiring , what about running the wire to the fuse box and using a fuse tap? The owner must love the new range. Could you make it a business upgrading old Leafs? Looks promising.

@@DalasEVRepair We get a lot of these first generation Leafs being imported to Canada from California ,etc and although they have very little mileage on them the combination of the heat and fast charging damages the battery. I also like to ask if the 3D file for the case can be find for free or if it is your design, will consider sharing it?

I will do a separate guide video for the newer AZE0 model. You can check my previous video where I show a completed CAN-bridge install on an AZE0. My software autodetects the orientation of CAN1/2, it doesn't really matter :) The 3d-case is specific to my latest own version of the CAN-bridge (bit thicker than Muxsans design), but I can upload it to github soon. Won't be useful if you haven't purchased a bridge from me though!

Aside from the battery pairing what other functions can be achieved? I'd really like some way to manually switch on the battery cooling rather than having to wait for the van to be charging, is this possible?

Yes it is possible to force cooling on, but it will cool the cabin at the same time. Get in touch with Muxsan and ask, I can't offer any firmware solutions for you, they would overwrite the muxsan range-extender bits 😅

My ZE0 30kWh battery is currently leaking (DTC error >P0AA6-00 0B EV/HEV Hybrid Batt Volt Sys Isolation EVC-157) which prevents it to start and to charge. Considering its SOH (62%), I envision to replace it by a 40kWh. Thanks to Dala (the great!) I can envision this upgrade. Question : I have acquired the 2-port CAN bridge and I would like to load the software on it. I don't have a ST-Link V2 but I have access to J-Link debuggers. Can I load the software using it (I guess so) ? Which file(s) should I load, which order?.. I'm an electrical engineer but a complete dummy in (embedded) software. I just understand and can follow instructions in this field... Thanks.

Hi Dala. I finally found a ST-Link V2 and managed to flash the 2-port CAN bridge. I went through most of your well done videos about battery upgrade. As mentionned above, I plan to upgrade a 30kWh ZE0 from 2016 with a recent ZE1 40kWh battery. Apart from the instructions on how to safely secure the batteries before the operation and do the mechanical swap, If I understand well, I only need to insert the 2-port CAN bridge loaded with your magic firmware in the battery CAN bus, right? (no problem, I completely master this part). Is there any operation I need to do once everything is assembled and connected back ? Any video I may have missed? Thanks a lot.

The only things that I would have done differently are, heat shrinks like to be heated from both sides for a proper seal, also I like glue lined ones. And I would used some conduit or cloth tape on new wiring loom just for extra protection. But that's only my preferences and I can't see anything wrong done by Dala.
