In August 2019 I learned that on my mom's side, we have Scottish ancestors that go back to the 1200' s. My mom's family never knew that. They thought we were strictly Finnish. Now I know why I have always been so fascinated with Scotland. My ancestors were from the western Highlands. When some left Scotland, they left for Sweden, Ireland, Austrailia and New Zealand. Years later some moved on and ended up in Finland. When I was a kid, I saw the movie Brigadoon. I loved the bagpipes and kilts. Still do. Aye. I moved to North Carolina from Florida ( I am moving back to Florida ). I discovered the city I live in was founded by the Scots. 💖 I was meant to be a little Scottish.

@Kirkee77 жыл бұрын
I know what mean been there myself. I wonder why they could not have placed drummer in the centre to beat time?
@alvindurochermtl4 жыл бұрын
Henry Jurkiewicz Because traditionally the band always marches in the very front. And if you place the bass drum between the guard and the band the musicians will fuck up when it’s their turn to not hear the beat clearly so the bass drummer needs to be always with the band. The band was in fact playing nothing but regimental duty tunes so regardless of the drum beat the troops should in theory be able to recognize the tunes and march to the beat. The simple solution or trick is not to place the guard so far behind the band as in the case of this video so those in the guard can at least see the pace of the band.

In the US, Regular Army units are recruited from everywhere, and their home bases usually have ceremonies. The Guard and Reserve units, though, that ARE tied to specific States and areas, are on their own, and in the age of "Forever-war" there are few parades anymore. Cadet Bonespurs doesn't seem to realize it, but the country is tired of fighting wars that only seem to help Russia and China, while our veterans get less and less care, and the suicide rates continue to rise. 8-(
