I agree Dani, Staying Alive is absolutely relatable. The song is about coping with life's struggles, and not letting it pull you down with the knowing you will come out at the other end better and stronger. Nice reaction.........

Even though they are singing much of this song in falsetto, they harmonize wonderfully. This song was recorded long before auto tune or pro tools. It’s their singing talent alone.

The subject matter of 'Stayin' Alive' is indeed about survival in the streets of a very criminal New York end of the seventies inspired by the Nic Cohn paperback Tribal Rites of the Saturday Night who was the plot for the classic Saturday Night Fever Movie. It is claimed from in a survey of all radiostations around the globe as most airplayed song of all time in 2017- every 20 seconds - this plays everywhere around the world and for sure it is the most iconic song of the 70´s decade. 🍾 It’s a part of our shared cultural heritage now - one of those pop miracles that just never gets old, never wears off, never loses its charge. It remains alive. And indeed one of the most covered pop songs in history This epic video was filmed on MGM Studios in Culver City in Hollywood California in the filmset ruins of That’s Entertainment starring Fred Astaire from 1974 during the same time when the BeeGees filming the Beatles movie, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band 1978 on the lot at the same time.

The beat of this song matches Barry's heartbeat. 103 beats per minute. When giving CPR you need to do 100 chest compressions a minute so you can sing this song and save a life. Pretty amazing. Also, none of them ever learned to read music. I think that just takes their talent to another level.
@hongfang25083 жыл бұрын
You Should Be Dancing was the BeeGees first disco hit at #1 in 1976. Stayin' Alive cemented the BeeGees as kings of disco when it went #1 in 1977.

Dani Thanks for reacting to my request. It was a great way to start the Day. Stayin Alive is one of the songs used by the Red Cross to teach CPR. The beat matches the compression rates. So this song can literally help keep someone alive.

So cool, Dani!!! Jumping back to the late 1977, in just a moment... The Brothers Gibb at the top of their game. I can say that almost any human bean who lived that era, including my self, had in the hands the Best selling original Movie Soundtrack of all times, ever. That`s sure. Barry`s falsetto singing, so impressive. Recorded in France, by the way as written in technical data in album`s sleeve.

Hello Dani! You're channel just appeared on my radar and with a lot of good memories I watched this video. Back in the days I had a lot of photo's of the Bee Gees on my bedroom walls, together with the Beatles and the Moody Blues. Ooh..those happy days haha. But I wondered, as you have studied and writing music yourself, have you ever heard of the Finnish symfonic metalband Nightwish with Dutch frontlady Floor Jansen? She has an incredible voice and is probably one of...if not the best... singer of this moment. At the word metal you probably think of loud screaming and aggresive music. Nightwish has some songs in that style but most of their songs are very melodic and there are some beautiful ballads in their repetoire (some with Celtic vibes). Last May they gave 2 virtuel Live concerts which were watched in 108!! countries (out of 196) and had 150.000 viewers (ticket based, but even more) each concert. No artist or band had ever done this. It was awesome! The song I would like to suggest to react to is Nightwish "Ghost Love Score" Live at Wacken 2013 kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIrNenx-jKd0jNE. And if you do so I must warn you...there will be a huge NW Army invading your channel haha! Greetings from the Netherlands

I was just earlier today thinking exactly the same things you're saying. About how things still seem subdued, and people are having a difficult time getting back to 'normal', after Covid. Not that it's really over. The economy is recovering, but the mental scars are harder. Like this song. Everyone should watch the ELO video of 'All Over the World', with the flash mob dancers, and bring it back. We create our reality.

Hi Dani, I always enjoy your reaction videos to The Bee Gees!! My fav band! Also, I want you to know that when you sing Somewhere Over the Rainbow, at the beginning of your reaction videos, your beautiful voice makes me smile. I am a Wizard of Oz fan, and that song has special meaning to me as a child. My son held his 2 month old child to this song, as she passed away in his arms, from a congenital heart defect, 8 years ago. I feel I just needed to share with you, as it just helps my sadness. Your version is beautiful! Keep up the great work, Dani! Thank you for listening!

Relevant for today and actually 9/11. New York is a focal point in this world (New York Times Effect of Man). That was filmed on a MGM backlot and the train you saw was used in the Butch Cassidy movie. Their first hit single was ironically "New York Mining Disaster".

Actually, this song has a "Direct" tie to NYC. When Barry was being interviewed about writing the song when the movie came out, he said the consistent background beat of the song came to him when he and his brothers had flown in NYC and in the car ride to their Hotel, they crossed a long bridge and the consistent beat of the wheels going over the bridge grates immediately stuck in his head ... and that night, in their hotel room they started writing 'Staying Alive"
@Zlata13133 жыл бұрын
Nope, the ride across a bridge from Criteria studios in Miami became the beat for Jive Talkin.
