Dale, the sound of machinery running and making chips is music to my ears.
@Falconguygaming7 жыл бұрын
I like it, maybe not a total change from your normal videos but for smaller parts or production runs of multiple parts it would be cool. Maybe a few less zooms but the cuts to the dials and such is interesting.

AnchorLube seems like a very interesting choice to me for parting because I wouldn't think it would flow into the joint much. Can you comment on this? Is this your typical go-to lube for parting? I requested a sample of this stuff and have used it here and there. Seems like an excellent lubricant. I just wouldn't have thought about it for a parting job- particularly not a deep parting job. Would love to hear your thoughts- as this might be a more versatile lubricant than I realized.

Very good.. I like the music.. You need to get some insert tooling.. I've not had any luck with straight high speed cutoff tools when going deep.. The insert blades can part 2 inch 1018 and 1 1/2 inch 416 ss without problems on that lathe (I own one).. The only way I can keep from snapping off a high speed steel blade is by working back and forth to cut a wider slot. The problem I seem to have is the chip eventually gets caught, friction welds itself to the slot and snaps the blade. Insert stuff has a cup / chip breaker that rolls the chip making it narrower than the slot. Another thing to note is that a bxa sized quick change setup will only take a 1/2 inch tool in the standard holder on that lathe.. You can buy tool holders that have a narrower bottom to allow 5/8 inch tooling.

Could be worse ! He could just sit in front of the camera and drone on about stuff I'm not interested in or have seen a gazillion times before! If i watch another video on how they turned the outside and bored a hole through it then broached a key slot i will go mad ! Same goes for thread cutting - seen it and done it a million times and there is already a thousand videos on youtube about it we don't need another . Thanks for mixing it up and trying something different Dale ! P.S. Is that press hydraulic ?

Different. Fast paced. Better choice of music than some other vids. Since it had a thru hole, I would have rough drilled it before parting off, to make parting it off a bit easier.
@weshowe517 жыл бұрын
This was entertaining. Hard to follow with the fast pace. As an idea, maybe you could make close-caption/subtitles, adding one text overlay saying so at the front. I already saw some negative comments... but then anything new gets some resistance initially.

I can dig this, alot if work went in, catch brat that is not too loud.. To be honest I love learning and the audio vocal commentary is a huge part of why I have stayed for so long. I have no formal education in machining, but I love learning. Cool idea however

That was fun, thanks. It takes a lot of energy to narrate EVERY SINGLE VIDEO, so I bet it's nice to take a break and just hit record and get some work done. Suggestion: next time, less editing and speed up the video less so we can absorb what's happening in each shot - we still get to learn and you don't have to talk! Also..... Metallica!
@WeirdHarold497 жыл бұрын
I could listen to the music with the page minimized, or I could watch the machining with the music muted. Try to watch and listen at the same time was nauseating.

I really don't understand all the negative comments below, he clearly states that this video is more like an experiment, not an usual thing, if you guys came here for the "tips and tricks" just watch the other videos, the two before this are like chapters of this subject, mabeye the next one will be another part of it. I've liked it like a trailer on what he's working on, yes a bit overedited but damn, stop complaining!

Hey Cheers for trying something new, but i didn't like it. the music was ok just not what I subscribed for and to tell the truth I'll probably unsub if this is the direction you plan on heading. To be clear though I appreciate trying new things and encourage you to do that. Just this new thing doesn't work.

nutin2new same for me too this IS something that i did not subscribe for !!!
@georgelewisray7 жыл бұрын
(1) appreciate and like that you are inspired to try new things (2) this particular new thing did NOT work for me. (2a) at beginning your face so close to the camera it made me pull back away from my screen in shock . . my space was invaded , it was a quirky/weird camera angle/shot , (2bi) the music/rhythm was jangly/discordant and there was never any flow to the work progression so I had little or no sense of the machining . . . . if in fact you were to work to music like that you would end up losing a finger or having a part fly in your face. (2bii) it is interesting to think about how to make a music machining video ????? there should be a flow to it, a recognizable sequence and a pace that does not leave one dizzy. (3) please keep trying new things, even music things, but please don't repeat this particular style of music with such rapid disjointed images. (4) keep being creative.

I made it half way through and stopped the video. I am new to machining, an airline pilot by "trade" and I used to really enjoy your video's. You used to have such great content but when you became sponsored the video's became much less frequent and they now amount to this example. To be honest I am kind of embarrassed for you Dale. I am a sponge looking to learn from you and the other KZbin machinists. Hoping your next video is more in keeping with your past. Regards.
@larryblount33587 жыл бұрын
Dale, I am a fan of your channel. But I do not like this video style. Too many quick flashes and zooms. It makes my old eyes hurt. Our strength is the technical reasons for picking the process used. This video did not show that.
