Thank you so much for posting my suggestion. I actually suggested some games of Larsen from sozen tournament of 1967. If possible please cover those. Thanks.
@bloxorzwizard79312 ай бұрын
That was Sousse, Tunisia in 1967. Larsen and Fischer were both in that tourney. Fischer, who was leading the tourney, left after a Tourney after a dispute with the organizers over playing games on his religious sabbath. See his game with Miagmarsuren, a Kings Indian atrack. It's a classic. In 1981 at Lone Pine, I played the same variation in a 5 minute game against Joe Bradford, who had won The US Open and US Open Speed Championship. I lost on time but was tripled up with Q and Rs on the G file and most of my minors on the Kside and his K was trapped on h8 and my pawn chain was smothering his pieces and keeping them mostly on the queenside. So I asked him: well what slow you think of the position, and he said: Are you kidding? You're killing me!

I had no idea Howell is rated that high. Is he in the top 50? He just always acts so self deprecating and deferential to super GMs in videos, I would never have guessed he was that close.
@VibhasPatil2 ай бұрын
He killed it in the last Olympiad. His performance rating was either 2800 or very close to that (I don't remember exactly). He also won gold on one of the boards I think. David is a monster of a player.

@VibhasPatil his peak rating was a hair over 2700

Question for KID experts - When playing Mishra in Biel recently, Pragg moved his knight from f6 to e7 on move 6, then followed up with c5 and b5, sorta like a Benko. Mishra played a Sarmisch with f3 and Nge2 d4 Nf6 c4 g6 Nc3 Bg7 e4 d6 f3 O-O Nge2 Nfd7 My question is - is this use of Benko ideas common in the KID? Does Nfe7 work against other setups? Thx!
