Thanks for another great video. As a switch owner, I’m really looking forward to your dedicated video, particularly how you adjust %percolation vs. %immersion of the overall brew as well as the number of pours during percolation to adjust the final cup. Good luck today!!

Wow. I’ve owned a Switch for a few years now and I’ve used it as a full immersion brewer and for straight pour over, but it never occurred to me to make a hybrid of the two methods. It seems so obvious now I’ve seen you do it. I’ll look forward to your longer Switch video.

Thanks for the comment. Yeah there are more than 2 ways to use switch and it’s so interesting how versatile this dripper is

Thanks for an amazing video! Really nice concise recipe with good explanation, really waiting for a longer video with other recipes and how different brewing methods can control the taste in the cup. Best of luck for the training and the finals soon :)

Love your videos...when I use my Switch, my usual method is like yours except I've never tried doing the bloom as immersion - it makes a lot of sense. I will try this technique next time. Ciao!

Immersion blooming makes brew more consistent. I like the switch for this. Let me know how you find it

I happen to be working with some Colombian beans myself (Guadalupe, fully washed) with the Hario Switch, so this piqued my interest more than all the previous days! I found it particularly instructive regarding the part about changing the duration of the immersion for a hybrid brew to control mouthfeel, that's something I've never tried before.

There are different way to brew with Hario Switch. Thanks so much for your comment and feedback. If you try let me know how is going with that

I’m looking forward to trying this recipe but could you give us a more specific range of times that you’d use for waiting before opening the valve on the last pour? I rewatched this video but it seems you left how long you were actually waiting. It looked like it was about a minute and a half, but the scale’s display is too light to read accurately.

Yeah unfortunately that happens with white scales. I usually do 1 minute and half

Nice to see you brew with the Switch. Started with it as my first dripper and still the one I use. And the recipe is basically the same as I use. I noticed that you ground very coarse this time. I've also noticed that I need to grind comparatively coarse. Is that your general experience with this recipe or is it specific to this coffee?
@MohnishPawar-wc4ct9 күн бұрын
I think he waited for 1min 30 seconds roughly before he started draining, so that could be a good starting point 😊

I usually always grind coarse because then I can control the extraction better with immersion and drainage
