A lot of people do it (pick apart plot holes and lapses in logic) that it has become really hard to feel confident about an original screenplay these days. Fiction and film relies on the willing suspension of disbelief- or, at least they used to. But then the amount of research and fact checking you need to do to write a true story has become equally difficult, it's pretty much killing my passion for my work.
@Alknix8 жыл бұрын
Cyril They still do, of course, but WSD is supposed to reconcile the viewer with the fantastical setting, make us let slide the fact that a man can fly, or do magic, or clone dinosaurs. It is not and should not be an excuse for moronic or nonsensical behavior, unless it's some kind of plot point like in "Idiocracy" or "Demolition Man". But those movies WORKED to make character stupidity an integral part of their plot and message. What reason do people in this movie (and many others) have for being such dumb cunts, other than it's easier for the screen writers?
@tylerskiss8 жыл бұрын
Alknix This isn't the best film to make my point because it is poorly written and highly flawed. But the culture is still there, tearing apart far better films, fact checking the smallest details about gravity or rates of combustion or even the amount of time it takes to get from Long Beach to Palm Springs using average daily traffic statistics- tiny details that kill the creative flow and make it hard. Do people need to know these facts? I saw one video complaining about the fact that you can't pull useable DNA from a mosquito trapped in amber to make a dinosaur- which is true, but it is not common knowledge. One is not stupid because they believed that possible, but of course, in this day an age, not only are you an idiot for ever buying that idea, but the writer is now a dick for ever having attempted it- forget the fact that he found an interesting way to bring an impossible story idea to life, it is now on us to make sure everything is possible and without flaw. Or maybe we just want everyone to be a "dumb cunt", I guess....

About the Flare-Thing; the reason why it worked fore Claire when it didn't work for Malcom has more to do with the Indominus Rex than the actual flare. Remember back to the original movie; the rex DID look in the direction of the flare after Malcom threw it, but kept chasing him because he was more interesting. HOWEVER when Claire does the same thing, the T-Rex would clearly see that the presence of a large alpha predator - the Indominus Rex. And since T-Rex's are territorial by nature, seeing another queen bitch on her turf is unacceptable. She was completely distracted from Claire by her desire to fight off the Indominus.

The flare thing was set up earlier in the movie with the Rex feeding scene earlier on, the flare was used as a feeding cue for the Rex in the flare drops, it comes and gets a goat...something relatively common for training to a signal there. The reason it went for the Indominus was due to them both being large predators and territory there, something similar to the Spino fight with the Rex in JP3

Love the review :D I think the reason the flare distraction worked in Jurassic World was because, Claire wasn't the only thing moving. With Ian, he threw the flair, which was a tiny pinprick of light, but kept running. He remained the biggest moving target and the T-rex stayed on his ass. With Claire though, she not only tossed the flare, but she threw it at the Indominus. Between the huge dinosaur and a still running Claire, Rex chose the larger moving target to hone in on. If the Indominus hadn't been there, I've no doubt T-rex would have continued after Claire.

Well, this was a fun review that was well worth the wait! Easily my favourite part of the review: "Goddamn sexual Tyrannosaurus!!" Definitely great to see that old joke make a triumphant return. The one counter-argument I will throw out there is that Rexy could probably smell the Indominus lurking outside of her paddock and considered her a serious threat that needed to be killed, so Claire weren't her main focus of interest. The 4/5 rating was certainly higher than I had expected, and I still hold the original Jurassic Park at a higher rating, but still, loved watching!! :)

(At 11:45) those claws are not deep enough to climb out. In fact, only the foreleg claws are the only ones noticeable, not the hind leg claws.

I don't know about you, but I would have Luke's more if they dropped the kids all together and used their screen time to show more of the park.

17:26 OH, that's a sparkler on the ball wreck. I thought it was a really overdone sun-gleam on the rifle to make really, really sure we all know Owen is visible to something, but it's a giant spray of sparks to make really, really sure we all know the wreck is wrecked.

I like the 3rd one It makes Rex's not strongest creature out their Even If they designed the spino wrong
@kurvos9 жыл бұрын
+Danell Lawrenece They didn't design the spino wrong in the third more than they designed the velociraptors wrong in the first one. Easiest to just excuse it all by being genetically altered.
@dilynazzopardi25989 жыл бұрын
+Danell Lawrenece they technically didn't design spino wrong because that is how it looked at the time and a rex was more powerful than spino because spino is built for fishing while rex is built for just killing. The reason they made spino win is because they wanted a new star dino and because the scientist thought longer=more powerful, by that logic, a shantungasaurus would kill most aquatic and all terrestrial carnivores.

7:31 As a dog owner, this is the most irritating scene in the movie, when Chris Pratt have no clue how to train animals with a clicker! Sometimes, it's the smallest things...

20:56 I read somewhere that Zara had more scenes that were cut that made her out to be a narcissistic bridezilla-to-be who was going on about her apathy for her husband and only wanting a day to be all about her, so the extravagant death scene was kind of cinematic karma for her being so self-centered…although admittedly where I read that there was no official confirmation from any writers, producers, directors or cast so that could all be totally wrong, but it would certainly make sense as she’s not a main character enough to make such a death impactful just because.

the woman died so brutally because they wanted to change the first 3 movies whole: women inherit the earth thing....ever noticed no women got killed in them?...the little girl in number 2 at the beginning survived the compy attack....the people who made jurassic world wanted to end the women are safe thing.
@TheEnigmaticBM398 жыл бұрын
TheConspiredOne these same people that complain about this death paid no mind to lawyer, the security gate guy from the opening of the first, the unlucky bastard from the San Diego incident and frank who did nothing to warrant their deaths, died brutally as well.

Actually if Zach was eaten I think Gray would be cheering(or at least I would, out of all the kid/young adult characters of the JP franchise, Zach is the one that I truly hate).

Hey at the 25:50 marl wasn't there some guy in the back? TF happened to the guy behind the villains giving his speech?
Decker, T.rex was actually somewhat slower than 30 mph, more like 20-25 mph.
@jaspermorrisey6308 жыл бұрын
It's neither. The highest speed of a T-Rex was 40mph
@michaeldeak57278 жыл бұрын
They see Me rollin That's actually false, it is impossible for a T.rex to run at 40mph, because it would have to have ridiculously large leg muscles to run that fast. Even though it did have some huge leg muscles, they were not large enough to run at 40mph.

Well 1, the T.rex was pretty old in Jurassic World, and 2 (as stated before), the speed of a real T.rex was about 25 mph.

Indominus Rex wasn't full grown when she was shown in the movie.
