The tree is lovely and I'm with you - love the red vs pink. Delightful that you have honored Gerry with the tartan theme; he is pure gold (overlaid with a tartan plaid of course.) The love and respect you and Phillip share is such a bonus. It was shocking when you two were "outed" but it has been a gift to us to be able to share in the warmth of your love. I hope that in retrospect the freedom it has given you to relax and celebrate your love has become a bonus to you two as well.

As lovely as all the specific colour coordinated trees are, nothing can beat the traditional red, green and gold ones! Especially adding TARTAN to the mix - is the icing on the cake ....err no ...the SNOW on the tree!!🤣👌👏🎄✝️❤️

The chandelier is magnificent, but Phillips hair is even better. He really should be a model along with Amaury. You should do a la lande calendar with all the regular residents. The tartan tree is beautiful

gorgeous tree for the Winter Salon. boyfriends are so good with instructions; i'm not. it was funny when Stephanie found humor in Philip putting the tree upright & then proceeding to predict that the branches are going to fall on him & then rescue him from being buried in the branches. the chandelier is gorgeous there, also.

The chandeliers from Anders in Denmark have really made such a difference! They are both so, so gorgeous, and - well spotted, Anders - they really fit in, like they have always been there! I suffer deeply from Chandelier envy, so Anders - if you have any more, lying around, then I am much closer! I also live in DK!! 😂The decanter for the aquavit, and the little glasses are also from Denmark, made by Holmegaard, so quite a few danish influences today 🇩🇰😂 The new tree is perfectly proportioned for the room, and the tartan theme was just made for the winter salon! Oh, I can already feel it... I'm going to miss the daily vlogs...

From one Scottish Lass to another I love the tartan tree. My Father's family are Welsh, Scottish and Native American (Cherokee & Mohawk). All of the decorations are so beautiful. When I think you guys have outdone yourselves in decorating one room after another, you keep getting better!!!! This tree and room is stunning!!! Love everything about it! Gerald is going to be overwhelmed when he sees it. The attention to detail is incredible. I love how Philip put a “necklace” on the bust on the fireplace and the red ornaments with the horses. The music was really good while you 2 were decorating…and might I say it has a very catchy tune…😉. I so look forward to these Advent videos. Keep them coming please!!! 👍🏻💜🥰🍷🙏

From Norway, 🤣 Akevitt (aquavit) with pizza? We drink it when eating the traditional Norwegian Christmas food that has strong flavors and a lot of fat. A strong, traditional aquavit then acts as a tasteful contrast to the food. The aquavit cleans the mouth and resets the taste buds before the next mouthful, which provides a better meal experience. And then we celebrate Christmas Eve, going to church, home eating pinne kjøtt (salt dried lam Meat from the ribb), then gifts are opend. Stephanie I placed my tree in different places through the years. OMG THOSE TREES ARE FANTASTIC !! I just had the regular prelite tree. They came out with those after I decided to stop putting up a big tree. Oh my, the tree looks absolutely beautiful decorated.

Beautiful, beautiful tree! And the chandelier! I use to have a smaller chandelier that had fewer shades. I bought red shades to replace them at Christmas. What a festive touch! Or, maybe Philip could figure out a way to temporarily cover them in LaLande tartan. 🎄

Okay! Piece of advice regarding the tartan tree. I leave the tree cover on. I gather it at the bottom of the tree in order to simply draw the tree cover up over the tree when I am putting it away. I drape the tree skirt over the cover to hide it which gives it a nice depth and angle and then when the tree is about to be stored away, you simply pull the cover up and over the tree to live in Narnia until next year. Scotsman will love this tree! When are Isabelle and Percy returning? I am interested in knowing what Alexander’s volunteer tasks are if he isn’t making curtains. Everyone else at the chateau work all of the hours that Gawd sends. I am so impressed that you are soldiering on despite the scary structural bad news. Big hugs from Canada!

As a dane I must say that you are so brave drinking snaps with pizza and chocolate. We only drink it with herring on rye bread or salmon where it cuts through the fattyness of the fish with it's strong taste. Drink it cold and it will clear your palette nicely. A musthave at Christmas in the nordic contries

Hello Stephanie and crew. I was just re-watching the very first Christmas advent video with Philip in the Chambre de les Oiseau (Birdy Bedroom) and (apart from holding my breath every time one of you stood in front of the mantelpiece and waved your elbows about near that large vase) I noticed at around 22 minutes in there is a shot of Philip looking upwards and you can clearly see the crack at the top of the wall. That was two years ago and from what I remember when I last visited the Chateau in September, It hasn't got any worse than it looked back then. I think there is plenty of time to fix it before it falls down as long as you don't poke it with a stick anytime soon.

Been on my own since I was 18; now 69, and I always did my tree myself because I'm a perfectionist when it came to placing the ornaments I'd been collecting my whole life and were so precious to me. Age has made it too hard for me to be so fussy and my only child took over the honors. We had cheap artificial trees her whole life (she's now 49) I've been a single unwed mother since age 20 and worked as a carpenter (I feel so close to your dear cousin) for 24 years until I retired, moved from the cold of Chicago to Orlando and went to work for the Walt Disney Company 17 years! Disabled now and finally retired. 3 years ago I got something I'd wanted for years but I got it as Christmas in July sale for my daughter's birthday gift! A BALSAM HILL TREE! She loved its quality and how easy it was to decorate; we have a revolving tree stand for it! And when COVID hit in 2019 we just left it up!! Its beauty and cheerful lights got us through the dark depressing years of the pandemic---I'm waiting for this year's after Christmas sale and buy a smaller tree for my bedroom--can't wait!
