The majority of women work in boring offices doing boring admin work (housework basically) under the direction of some random boss and they only do it for the wage. What is the difference between dressing up each day and going to work for a random boss in return for a wage, and getting up each day and doing similar tasks in and around the home, surrounded by your children, in return for the financial support of you rhusband who you love and who loves you back? Why is working for a random boss liberation, and working for yourself and your family oppression? Why is doing basic admin or accounting or HR tasks 'fulfilling' but homeschooling your own children and maintaining your own home and making sure everyone has a really good diet and orderly house 'enslavement'? Sure.... not every woman finds the role of housewife/ mother appealing .......but then again, not every woman finds the average office job appealing either. Is being a housewife really more demoralising and restrictive than your typical office or retail job, which is what most women do every day?
@theawecabinet
@theawecabinet 6 жыл бұрын
"... choice. autonomy..." Swings and roundabouts. Being single and working in an office gives you some choices. But not if you want to wear what you want, have a baby, be a mother, pursue education or a skill, plan a business venture..... Entering into partnership with a man allows all of these possibilities. "... not having to fuck the man you work for .." Work for? Are you suggesting that being a housewife equates to working for your husband? Does that mean that if you live a single life and work in an office you are working for your boss? "...virtually against your will...." Why enter into a relationship if you are not sexually attracted to the guy? "... provided you were not manipulated into a Stockholm Syndrome situation via religious dogma..." Do you think there are women working in offices today, who are desperate to have more free time, desperate to have babies and raise them full time, and be the centre of a family, household and community who hate the treadmill and the isolation of a 9-5 lifestyle who were manipulated into that lifestyle via feminist dogma telling them that working in an office represented 'freedom' and 'liberty'?
@theawecabinet
@theawecabinet 6 жыл бұрын
"... the ability to chose whether you will be restricted to your house or restricted to your office cubicle is what i mean..." This choice is really only available to women. Men do not really have the option to stay at home and be house husbands because very few women are prepared to financially support a man in return for sex and housework. This is partly why so many women in high flying careers are so miserable. When men work their asses off to become CEOs they generally do it to support a family. As they put in those gruelling long hours and fly around the world to attend conferences and board meetings they are thinking of their family back home and converting their high salaries into a new swimming pool. a horse for his daughter, skiing trips, the perfect family christmas etc etc. But feminism encourages women to work purely for themselves and their own fulfilment, as if becoming a CEO is a privilege women should partake in, rather than a chore and a means to an end. Thus the high flying career woman is often working all those hours just so she can afford _another_ pair of designer shoes. She prices herself out of the market because ordinary men do not earn enough for her, and men of her status are able to attract younger women who ARE interested in family life and making a home. Feminism has essentially convinced women to compete with men at being men. But most women do not want to be men. "... you could also pursue plenty of life choices without being stuck with another human being..." That is like saying you could earn money in plenty of ways without being stuck with a boss or business partner. Most people find self employment a drag and working for an employer to be a lot more convenient. A marriage is a partnership. It is only feminism that defines it in terms of master / slave. Yet feminism does not define the role of office worker in those terms even though it is essentially doing 'housework' for your boss all day long in a skirt, blouse and heels with immaculate make up ..... the stereotypical housewife role that feminists SAY they hate. "..... and if that other human being has the ability to make choices for you despite your own desires, such as in the way of major family decisions or what the man is going to do to your body sexually. this actually makes it harder to pursue your own desires even when its within your physical ability to accomplish them...." Women control 80% of household income, full reproductive autonomy (men have none) and family courts are totally stacked in women's favour. ".. being sexually attracted to someone is not justification for that person thus having absolute control over when you must have sex with them..." In most committed relationships consent for sex is permanently set to 'yes'. That is kind of what a marriage means. If parenting was defined according to 'consent' we'd find most of the time parents did NOT consent to being woken up in the middle of the night to change a dirty nappy, or have to show up at some god awful school production of Cats... but they do it because as a parent they feel OBLIGATED. Accepting your role as a parent is the only way to embrace it and enjoy it. Thinking about it in terms of consent would just lead to resenting your kids all the time and feeling like their slave. The same is true of work. You have to, in a sense, submit to your boss and the demands of your job. Doing so actually makes your career bearable and even enjoyable. Constantly reminding yourself that you did not consent to working overtime this week, or flying off to that conference at short notice only leads to resentment and the feeling that you are a slave. Signing an employment contract means you consent to the demands of the job and are willing to throw yourself at it, 'all in'. This is the attitude which leads to success _and_ happiness. Feminism's main aim is to drive a wedge between men and women and destroy the home/ family/ institution of marriage. Thus it tells women to behave as if they are single women, even AFTER they have committed to a long term relationship. Meanwhile.... 50 Shades of Grey becomes the best selling book of the century. Once again feminism encourages women to go against their natures, and try to act like men. (Although in truth, studies show that the most common fantasy for BOTH sexes is to be controlled sexually). "... this book seems to suggest that married woman shouldnt have full control over when they are to have sex with their husbands..." In a traditional marriage men do not have full control over when they go off to work. And a traditional wife is going to know that weekdays and any other time her husband is not there is going to be sex free time. That leaves evenings and weekends. Hardly unconventional to have sex during those times. ".... so the wife's consent is not fully valid..." It is if the wife agreed to it. Plenty of men would love to be financially supported in return for having to have sex when his wife wants to. Plenty of wives love their husbands to throw themselves 'all in' to their careers and essentially become slaves to their business to maximise the household income. That 'all in' attitude is the male equivalent of the submissive wife. The man dresses up smart each day and does whatever his career demands of him ..... and in return his wife dresses up smart each day and attends to his needs when he gets home. Remember the husband is also attending to her needs too. He is paying for the entire household. A submissive wife is also a demanding wife, the more submissive she becomes the more high maintenance she becomes. Offloading agency onto the husband is placing an extra burden onto him. Feminism is also an example of women offloading their agency onto men (and productive women too), and becoming high maintenance. The difference is that the state (men with guns) is used to transfer all the resources by force, which allows feminists to make their demands for resources and special treatment while giving absolutely nothing back in return (he for she).

Being gay gender roles playing apart in straight couples have always weirded me out. My boyfriend and I are completely equal and if one of us is better than the other in some aspects of maintaining a healthy relationship, than he takes on that role. Straight people have been so conditioned by society that the woman is submissive alway and the man is always dominant (not saying that it is a bad thing just that anything outside of this is out of the norm and discreditied) that even in a gay couple with 2 men they are obsessed with labeling one of us the male and one the female. I wasn't feeling like having sex tonight "Oh justin your'e the woman!" He had a panic attack and broke down crying to me "Cullen''s so sensitive, I knew he was the woman". It's just so weird to me to make that could be seen as vurnerable or whiny is seen as feminine charactaristics. it's just weird to me

Brooklyn Minney ikr, it’s so irritating hearing someone label you a different gender based on your personality. Just because I like to sing and crave sex less than most men does not make me the female of the relationship. I think one of the weirdest things though is how offensive some of these stereotypes are. Like if your a nag your the woman of a gay relationship, if your loud and proud your the man of a lesbian couple. It’s so backwards and regressive

A relationship is like driving a car. It is very hard for two people to be driving it at the same time. It is easy to dismiss the natural masculine/ feminine roles and temperaments that have evolved over millions of years and are rooted in biology (hormones etc) but doing so is anti scientific. How many women do you know who financially support their husband/ BF and generally take on the provider / protector role? How many women aspire to this kind of relationship or see it as normal? How many women campaign for women to work longer hours in more stressful and dangerous jobs so they can pay more taxes and for more taxes to be spent on helping men? (currently men are the main taxpayers and women are the main recipients of tax spending, and men are 95% of workplace deaths). The traditional wife is a role of submission, but so too is the progressive feminist. BOTH place a burden of care onto men (he for she). The difference is the submissive wife actually offers the man something back in return. Therefore the submissive wife who works hard to provide value to her husband in return for the value he offers her actually displays a lot more agency than the modern feminist who makes demands on government/ men/ society but offers nothing in return. Not even a sandwich.

I think I met this woman once. I was in the grocery store and she bumped into me with her shopping cart. I say "bumped" into me rather than "ran" into me because it was really quite gentle. About as hard as someone tapping on my shoulder. She said sorry and I said "no problem and started to walk away. It would have been one of those things that are totally forgettable except for what happened next. To my shock she starts screaming really loud, "I didn't hit you that hard. There is no reason for you to fake limp like that" At first I was confused about what she was talking about, then I realized. I said, "I'm not limping because you hit me. I'm limping because I have a fake leg." You see, I've been an amputee for as long as I can remember. It is such a part of my personal identity I sometimes forget that I walk with a slight limp. This woman clearly didn't see me limping before she bumped into me, so when she saw me limping after she assumed it was some form of personal attack. She was so offended by that attack she had to lash out at me. In fact my limp had nothing to do with her. But some people feel like everything is about them, and any attack against them must be defended no matter how trivial the attack is.

This woman obviously has not the capacity to put herself in the other's place. I am a single man and have been so for all my life. (I am now 60 years old.) I happen to be very happy. When I get home from an outing, I love coming home to MY OWN SPACE! That doesn't mean I don't like the company of others. I am, after all, a musician who loves to play guitar and sing for audiences at local venues, but my "decompression zone" is my own condo with no one else around. I am no more a (ahem!) I've had a good life, always tried to be the best me possible; would have been miserable living someone else's life as someone else's imitation. And many who harassed me to marry, though they love their children more than their own lives and most are still married, have apologized and said they wish they'd chosen differently instead of doing the expected. @WWZenaDo 6 жыл бұрын
@TheBibo Sez 1. But they'll never tell you when you're wrong. Which means you could be very wrong - especially when driving. 2. In some cases, restricting your sex life could prevent STDs. 3. Dogs will also never tell you an unpleasant truth which, if you listened and improved that aspect, would enhance your life. 4. Looking at 1, 2 and 3, are you sure you should be around children? 5. Seriously? My dog demanded restaurant meals every time I came home with food on my breath... 6. On the other hand, dogs can also be neutered or spayed, preventing such human problems. 7. ...Again I ask, what makes you think children would be safe around you??? 8. Depends on whether you are kind to them and keep feeding them, shelter them properly, play with them, love them. The same applies to most people, too. 9. Ever seen a modern-day Annie Oakley with a gun? Better not cross that kind o' mamma if she's protecting her kith and kin! 10. And a dog never wastes your money on yet another motorcycle, snowmobile, ATV, the slut down the street... 11. Hah! They may not TELL you that they mind, but just try cancelling a walk because you want to finish tying that fishing fly. 12. Depends on whether you use that cheap musk perfume. 13. No guarantees when it comes to not picking fights with other dogs (as did my 130-pound bull mastiff/German Shepherd mix). 14. Clearly you've never seen a single "Bad Dog!" video. When left alone for long hours while the owner works, dogs have eaten furniture, torn apart the house, and even in some cases flooded the house or set it on fire. Now, tell me that you had a woman do the same thing, and if so then you seriously need to seek some sort of counseling either for your preference for personality-disordered mates - or for your own personality disorder. 15. They can't drive a car, attend college, bring in a second income, and more.

1. Wasn't just talking about driving a car, but your narrow-minded tunnel vision is amusing. Also, many studies have shown that women are far safer drivers than men (due to the lack of machismo drama in female driving). 2. Apparently you've forgotten about the way AIDS was initially spread in many western nations. 3. Psychological projection from an abuser. 4. Good. Your general surroundings would be far too toxic to produce any healthy offspring. 5. Scientific inquiry indicates that many species do use forms of language. Apparently you are at the very least ignorant, if not deliberately so. 6. Busting your delusion, the role of the female body is far more important to reproduction than that of the male. Sperm provides one-half of one set of chromosomes, while the entire remaining process of life is provided by ALL mammalian females who give live birth. 7. So you're a misanthrope, likely a psychopath. Ever consider that your problems with women were coming from YOU? 8. Yeah, I feel sorry for the many women throughout the ages who've been stuck with some self-righteous schmuck who was beneath them. 9. Going by your own words, you've probably never slept with a woman. 10. Goody for you. I've got an actual case of a flaming male narcissist neighbor who doesn't work (can't keep a job) and his wife is working herself to death enabling his infantile fascination with shiny mechanical things. That sort of situation is unfortunately very common - money for toys, no money for rent or food. 11. Oh, yeah, try that. See how long you can stand the inevitable howling and whining. Besides, if YOU were loyal to the poor dog, you wouldn't do that to your "best friend". But you sound like a cruel viper, so I pity any living thing that you latch onto, be it another adult male human or worse yet, a poor dog. 12. Aftershave or cologne for men. Your ignorance of those items is telling. 13. Clearly you've never owned a large dog. Take one of your friends' (if you have any) big dogs for a walk sometime; get a dose of reality. Mine could pull 300 pounds without breaking a sweat. 14. There's causing drama, and then there's psychopathology. See numbers 3, 4 and 7 above about misanthropes and abusers. 15. Your mental straitjacket is showing - again.

TheBibo Sez wrote: "a woman orders the death of Gilgamesh for the crime of refusing her sexual advances." Wow, I'm amazed at your ignorance. Such situations were also described in Greek mythology (the tales of Odysseus being seduced by Calypso and Circe, to name but two examples). Yet clearly you are blitheringly unaware of such literary works. On the other hand, the reality is more closely described by multiple authors and research papers that describe at least several thousands of years of violence against women, especially during warfare.

A large number of children have died at their parents' hands as they used their approach, and other severely injured with sometimes permanent damage. A bit of google search yields a cartload of horror stories. People like these two should never be allowed to publish their stuff.

Oh god the "hillbilly ugly" story genuinely pissed me off. My family is from the south in the US so yeah that is extra offensive to me. In social justice-y terms it'd be classist as hell because, well no one really calls rich people hillbillies (unless they're in country music). That combined with the "Office wench" story definitely makes me think she's not as happy as she wants to pretend she is, she just gets by by tearing down everyone who isn't just like her.

And specifically tearing down other WOMEN. In the name of Jesus, of course! That's the key. That's how she justifies it. She is clearly an unhappy, insecure, and very jealous woman who wants to take down any woman that makes her feel insecure(which is all of them). The "hillbilly ugly" story just made her sound like a very jealous and sad little teenager(which when you look to be pushing 60 is just fucking PATHETIC). She was clearly very envious of the male attention this woman was getting and had to find a way to tear her down and "prove" she(Debi) was right all along. You see, seeing one instance of this person being mean is proof that she was just faking that happy, smiling personality before! She's as ugly inside as she is outside! Debi was justified in hating her! She's just speaking for the Lord, guys! It's not that she's just a mean person with a shit-encrusted heart and way too much internalized misogyny.

Like you said in the video, if that’s what someone wants to do in life then that’s great and I would never want to discourage anyone from that as being a wife and mother is a great thing. I want a woman who's with me in a relationship to be equal to me, not acting as a willing slave that does my every whim. To be fair, I think the general philosophy behind the 'traditional housewife' role is that all the boring and repetitive admin tasks she does in the office each day serves her boss's goals... BUT in return her boss rewards her by agreeing to financially support her. That financial support is what she gets in return for all of those admin chores she does day in, day out ..... and for dressing up smartly in nice shoes, a smart skirt suit and with immaculate makeup each day (which she constantly retouches throughout the day). The 'perfect housewife', you could say. Compare that to the modern liberated women, who gets to do the same basic admin, accounting and networking chores, ordering stock for the kitchen, managing the allotment and overseeing the chickens ...... only she does these tasks in and around her own home, surrounded by her children (who she also gets to educate) and all done to her own schedule and with no strict clothing requirements either! In return she also gets financial support from her boss, who is not actually her boss at all but her equal business partner in the joint venture called 'marriage'. Plus she gets to have a loving intimate relationship with him too. And their evenings and weekends together are all free of housework duties which were all carried out during the week. Obviously we've come a long way from when women were enslaved to outside of the home, and chained to the photocopier!

I heard this from a pastor once and it always stuck with me because it throws out all these weird beliefs of women being subservient to men. "If I'm going to help my kid with math, I certainly know elementary math better so I can help, but once my kid gets into high school and does calculus, I can't help because I have no idea what's happening. In order to help someone with something, you usually need to be better at that thing than them. So when God created Eve to help Adam, it's presumed that she was better at certain things than him". What I took from this is that men would be absolutely lost without women. And as I've gotten older I know that that is true by watching older men who've been married for a very long time struggle to learn how to do basic things that most people should know like cooking. Women in the workforce terrify men because they have to come to grips with the fact that they are not always the 'smarter sex'. What will we do without women to feed us and help us? Men who believe in this dichotomy NEED women to survive. And the women who are becoming increasingly educated in the modern age are finding that they don't need men to do anything.

And if men don't want to date elder woman with low chances of fertility, then it's all their fault as well, how dandy! Reality knocking btw, married couples tend to statistically always fare better against people in a simple relationship or who are single and most successful marriages tend to be the ones that get married in their early 20's. Maybe you should start questioning your own dogma and look up some statistics about marriage, single parents, birthrates and question whose more insane and destructive. @davidhaaijema4521 6 жыл бұрын
Matilda S , To get everyone to be equal, you need to force people to live the life you dictate, because you know, free will tends to make it complicated to get everyone to be equal without doing so. You cannot have equal outcomes without doing exactly that, at best you can give equal opportunity, which we have, but that doesn't seem to be enough apparently.
@matildas3177
@matildas3177 6 жыл бұрын
David Haaijema wanting everyone to be robots (which is how I interpret your idea of equality based on what you just said) and giving everyone the same rights and tools to do what they want in life are two different things. Today we sadly do not have the same opportunities, not even in the same country. A good example of that is the pay gap, it perfectly illustrates how the society we live in value people based on gender and skin colour.
@davidhaaijema4521
@davidhaaijema4521 6 жыл бұрын
And this is how I interupt your idea of "equality", "give me stuff", you mention rights without responcibilities, you mention tools without obligatsions. You do not get to claim things and demand things you haven't worked for or have taken responcibility for. And pay gap ? there is non if you ask any credible economist, only Feminist claim there is one. The difference becomes non-excistant when you account for profession, time worked and dozens of other factors. The "gap" you are talking about is purely based on "take 1 demographics total earnings and compare it to a others while not taking into account ANYTHING else". The only pay differences in direct comperable jobs with direct hours usually have to do with preformance. Someone who sells twice the amount of stuff in the same amount as time as you, simply, regardless of same hours spent, deserves in wages because he also caused more profits for the company. The fact ther "gap" is there is btw proof there is equal oppertunity, because you wouldn't expect equal outcomes when individuals are left to make individual choices. You want equal outcome, not equal oppertunity. And that will require dictating the lives of people. I am the one that actually wants equal oppertunity. You basically want to force woman to work as much, as hard and with just as much leave as men, or you'll never close the gap. Or you want to be even more entitled and just not do all those things, yet still get paid the same. Tell me, what oppertunities or rights do you not have that a man has hmm ? And why would someone in a different country not have them (if you take Western countries for instance who all roughly have the same rights and oppertunities) ? And why is that your problem to begin with ? Your civic responcibility is towards your fellow countrymen, not the entire world. And if you think Western society cares about gender or skin color, then you haven't been paying attention, it cares only about money. You live in a delussion and what you want would require telling other people and even countries, how they should live and act all so you can feel better because people are "equal". You are the one here advocating that people being treated as robots, i'm here to make a case that I would rather die than have your enforced "equality" because i'm a individual, and I will make my own choices which will come with their own rewards and I will not claim things that I have no worked to achieve. You want equality of oppertunity ? give me a break, if you want that, might want to start advocating for woman being drafted in times of war, that was the responcibility thrusted upon all men when they got the right to vote and woman got it without having to do so. How nice that you can get to vote yes for war and then get too force the men to fight it. Here's your "gap" for you, the amount of men sacrificed for your luxuries. Combat and work related fatalities both over 90% men (this is btw a reason why the "gap" is there, men take on more dangerous jobs which have higher rewards)...... You want equality ? lets bring that down to 50%, after you shown the responcibility you can claim the benefits.

You know, if she really wants this life - of being submissive to her husband, why doesn't she just be honest about it, realize that she is talking about BDSM, she wants to be a submissive, and find some workable and healthy ways to do that. That would include, periodically, stepping outside that role, and talking with him adult-to-adult about how it is and isn't working, and how things might change to improve. Also, to realize that it's just a role you're playing, at times it might not work well or at all, and change to something else. For instance, if she's his helpmate and supporting him in his goals, and she breaks her leg or gets sick, for a time at least she won't be able to do what she has, may need more help from him OR need some hired help. For this to be safe, sane, and consensual, that's got to be part of the deal. Or, sometime, it might cease to work, and they can just drop those artificial roles - because they are ROLES - play-acting if you will. Or, they can even reverse them. But, that type of role-playing seldom works when done 24x7x365. Rather than WRITE a book about being submissive, she should READ some well-written books that are already out there on the BDSM bookshelf. Then, add the religious trappings to the role-playing, and she'd be all set. MOREOVER, stop assuming that is the role, life, or lifestyle EVERYONE should be into. While some people enjoy playing a submissive role, other people enjoy playing a dominant role and it's got nothing to do with whether someone has a penis or a vagina. Some people enjoy both roles at different times, and others don't like that game at all and prefer to have people viewed as equals with different skills, interests, and abilities and try to make the combination work better/best, as well as recognize what things they don't have and either gain them or hire someone to help who has the missing skills.

The hormones that cause breast development and the hormones that cause lactation are not the same. If you give a guy the hormones for lactation his breasts won't get much larger, but they will produce milk.

To me this just proves that religion takes advantage of sad people, or people going through the very natural curiosity of what we are made for, or if what we’re worth as individuals. She substitutes the emptiness of not knowing your worth with saying “oh well god said I’m made to be a mans helper” and it’s honestly just really sad

Yeah, I’m not sure why she wrote what she did since she’s a Christian. I mean many Christian’s believe some people are supposed to be single or if she’s catholic then, it also doesn’t make sense what her point is because of nuns and priests being single for life.

You really sound like you've got your head screwed on. The most long lasting and fulfilling relationships I believe are where people grow together. ('Growing apart' is cited as one of the most common divorce reasons). You already know that you'd be fine as an awesome individual, as would your boyfriend - but keeping finding common interests and ways to spend time together as best friends is really important. Don't ever forget that :) Grow together - real long term partnerships where you feel like you're with your best friend and continuously growing together too is an incomparable experience.

Since I've been young I was always most excited about having someone to walk beside. It's supposed to be an adventure for both. To say one leads, one follows involves assumptions and entrenched impressions of how some specific corner, area or concept of the world works. A relationship doesn't always have to be "ok, it was fun to be with you for a while, but where I'm from, people do things a certain way, and this has to be more like that", as if where you're from or what you're seeking, or what they are honestly seeking, doesn't matter at all anymore. Relationships don't have to sink to the dark area of the other person's behind closed doors space. I liken it to the juvenile idea of taking in someone new into your group, but at some point you 'educate' them about how things work where you are without caring about finding out more about them, only because you've found out enough to decide you want them in your circle for whatever use it serves you. It's almost like you want to make them wrong in a way that points and laughs at them. What is it with people that think they can do that, anyway? We all know it happens, but it never has to make sense.

If her subordinate life makes her happy, that's great for her (and for her husband, I suppose), but that's definitely not what I would want from a woman! On an unrelated side note: At "the beginning" of this channel (around 700 subs) I mentioned a few times, that you should watch out not to use so many filler words, and during this (rather lenghty) video I think you didn't use a single one! That's immense progress, and I think you've become so much more confident (at least with being on camera) throughout this short time. That's wonderful to see, and I'm really proud of you!

As for this horrible woman and her not even fit for toilet paper book, I hope that if her God that she claims to believe in will show her that it wasn't a joke that she shall be judged based on the same standard that she has judged others. Namely, the "hillbilly ugly" woman. If there is anyone in this story who is genuinely ugly, it's the person who is telling it. Part of me hopes that this book was meant to be a joke, or was only put out by her to make up for losing a bet, and not how she truly views the world.

You are so on point here. I was actually given this book by, get this, my mom. I used to think that my extreme conservative, Christian, homeschooling parents were different from the stereotypes ... but after finally kicking my abusive husband to the curb - heresy to most conservative Christian groups - I finally allowed myself to think for myself and started to see how these groups condition their daughters to be nonhuman, housekeeping, baby making, sex slaves to misogynistic asshats. That was literally my life - married 3 weeks after I turned 18, with 4 kids by the time I was 24... and this kind of thinking is what kept me trapped in that situation. While it may not be preached from the pulpit, it is heavily implied AND is actually taught by women to younger women who are then held by those expectations, the standard of a “good Christian woman”. It is absolute misery. It is absolute bullshit... and it is not addressed anywhere near enough.

Wow! It's so refreshing to hear someone preach about how women only serve to give birth and raise families in a time where women are trying more than ever to strive for their own goals and pursuits, being treated as equals, and promote feminist movement! #sarcasm In all seriousness, these people and their thinking is insulting. My mother worked to achieve her dream of being a nurse while taking care of three kids. My aunt was a teen mom who fled an abusive relationship and raised my cousin as a single mother while going to college. She was a firefighter, and is the most badass person I know. Women are awesome and can achieve more than just having kids. This isn't the 1800's.

I haven’t finished the video yet, but I’m just gonna say this right now. Even from a religious (Christian) perspective, this is not how a marriage is supposed to work. A God-honoring marriage is one where a man and a woman come together, and both their respective strengths and weaknesses compliment each other. Marriage is supposed to be (mostly) equal. Both the husband and wife are supposed to make an effort with the housework, cooking, child raising; and there’s never been anything wrong with a woman having a job or owning a business. Not even when the Bible was written (despite popular belief)

You sure this book wasn't written by Michelle Duggar? LMAO!!!! I am so happy we are out of the dark ages, when women go to Uni to actually get an education and not for the sole purpose of meeting a husband. Or when women were relegated to the kitchen and the child rearing, and the man was the sole breadwinner with a martini waiting for him upon his arrival in the evening. My heart hurts for women who embrace this archaic mentality, it really does. And the problem is, books like this will only propogate such ideas for younger christian girls. It's just sad. I've been married just over ten years and we are PARTNERS, we each recognize our/each other's strengths and we work with those to have a productive, loving, *respectful* marriage. I want that for everyone, to have a partner in life with a relationship built on respect and love. Anyway, glad you are feeling better!! Laryngitis is NOT fun, so I am glad it's passed. XOXO

Imaginary Winchester The necessity for conservative values like this is born out of the fact that women are, in the West, becoming more and more unhappy with their lives as the generations tick on by. The marriages are weaker, the lives are more material and the trust and social cohesion in our societies by which women thrive are becoming more broken and cancerous each day. While women today rightfully have the ability to do much more things than they have in the past and are not relegated to being homemakers solely, what one wishes versus what one should have for their health are not equal. People, yes, have the right to destroy or restore their lives however they see fit, but one should not be so arrogant and full of hubris as to excoriate people who have found their happiness in what seems to YOU to be submission. "The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct them to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those that think differently." Nietzsche

My mom is a doctor, specifically an anesthesiologist. Because of this, my family was relatively well off, and my dad didn't have to work. Neither of them are inferior. My mom graduated from Harvard and my dad has a PHD in engineering. Because of this, I was raised by an at home parent who taught me about physics and sciences and cared for me. He taught me how to cook, because that's a useful skill for anyone, and some of my best memories are spent baking with him! Because as a family, we love baking. When my mom was home during the holidays, we'd all work together to host dinner parties. Becaise of my amazing dad, I want to be an engineer when I'm an adult. So yeah, I'd say that stay at home dads make wonderful parents.

Very interesting video and your criticism is on point, but I think reducing men and women to genitals erases trans people from this issue (the kind of people that write and enjou this book don't seem very concerned with trans inclusivity tho). Women can and are treated like second class citizens wheter they have a vagina or a penis (and trans women are further persecuted by transphobic people). Other than that, I applaud your hability to not rip the book in half while reading

Sara Bestea I don’t think she was reflecting her own opinions by reducing men and women to genitals, but referencing how the writer thinks.
