@Haytham Kenway The way they went about it though is so misleading. If lee's intention is only to buy the village and keep them safe then why is he so violent towards connor and even belittling his people while holding him from his neck. That is why the twist in AC3 is so confusing. If the templars just want to protect the natives by buying their land then there is no need for forceful or violent entry. There was also one guy in the game that was killing natives because they refused to have their land sold and he started killing them because "they wouldnt let themselves be protected".

Maybe in Haytham's eyes Birch and Birch alone ruined his life. But not the Templars. He believed in their ways and was willing to do right by the Templar teachings. And maybe the reason why he trusted Birch is because he was there after the attack on his home. He took him under his wing and trained him. Became a second father to him. Besides he avenged his father and saved his sister. Haytham even said that he found some similarities with the Templars and Assassins (whatever that is, but maybe their desire for peace). Even after reading forsaken, my view of Haytham remains the same. He was an honorable man. Who has had such a tragic life. An anti hero. But a good one.
@enlightenmentdoesntcomeeas53376 жыл бұрын
Still Haytham came to Birch with an intent to kill. It doesn't matter who delivered the final blow. I don't quite understand what you mean "treated his family". He saved Jennifer. Sure he may have kept information from Connor, but he was only trying to make him see that he was siding with the wrong men. I don't think he was trying to convert him to a Templar. Haytham believed in Birch's teachings but he still killed his father and took away his childhood. Even though Birch tried to defend his actions as for the greater good, that doesn't change the fact that he ordered the attack on his home and that was something personal for Haytham. Haytham and Jennifer kept in touch, she was only disappointed with her brother's decision to remain a Templar, but that wasn't reason for her to distance herself. They wrote to each other but rarely since they had nothing much talk about their lives. Also after the revelation, he said that it doesn't go against everything his father stood for and that he found similarities between the two Orders. Most probably that similarity is their desire for peace.

I really like Connor’s growth through the series of AC 3. Connor does something no other AC character has done up to this point: try to understand the Templars and possibly unite with the Templars. He does try to work with his father but in the end he comes to the conclusion they can’t work together. He comes out as a better man and understands more of the fight between the two. And he just doubles down on the freedom and choice of all after everything Washington and Haytham put him through. He is a great character and isn’t the dull guy a lot of people say he is.

Haytham stayed his hand more than once. If he wanted he could have killed Connor, he had many opportunities. But he still couldn't bring himself to it. Be it some sort of sense of fatherhood or plain simply trying to convert Connor into a Templar, he did stay his hand. Even in the end, where he could have simply fled with Lee or stabbed Connor with his own hidden blades. Haytham is my favorite character in the AC Universe after Ezio. And just to think that he's Edward's son, that shy boy at the theatre... Well... I'm just sure Edward would have been proud to see his son become a great man even if he fought for the opposite side; Just like Haytham was of Connor, in the exact situation.

@@WhenInDarknessSeekTheLight Connor didn't knew Washington was responsible for his mother's death and the burning of his village when he was a child. He thought it was Haytham's thugs but they were on a different mission during that day and they just happened on him during that time. Connor blamed the Order because he saw the ring on Lee's finger and so he thought they were responsible. Years later Haytham showed him a document ordering the burning of his village something the future president already did years ago. But Connor continued to support Washington for he thought that they would the right thing despite all that..... He thought. Maybe the Order was more dangerous and stopping them was more important, but clearly helping Washington did no good either. His father who was a Templar by the way, tried to tell him, tried to warn him actually that those lesser and unfortunate will suffer while the rich get richer but Connor refused to listen. The new young generation of gamers are just more and more seekers of pleasure and didnt get the real character of connor or the emotional plot in this game. They wanted a person with charisma but they forgot that connor was only a child saw his mother burning alive later discovering that his own father delivered the order to do so. Yet connor struggles to fight for justice helping the patriots. Connor was the only assassin closer to a warrior fighting style , he was the only one to experience armed armies at open battlefields with his tomahawk hammer, by far the most skilled assassin in the series. Jokes and cocky attitudes are expected from people of privileges with aggressive social circles around them. In my opinion enzio was much more selfish seeking revenge and putting everyone who was left for him in danger.

I've mentioned this before on another comment but I'll say it again. Altaïr was the most skilled in battle, surpassing that of Connor and Ezio, it seems that no one remembers the time he charged into a Templar filled war ground and fought multiple Templar knights at the same time whilst also fighting the Templar Grand Master. Furthermore he then went to fight his master who wielded the Apple of Eden and won. Most people get the impression that these new characters are stronger because they display new combat moves, but suggesting we saw Altaïr in a new Game; we would probably give our own thoughts a second think. You have to consider the fact that Altaïr also invented all of the new weaponry used by modern Assassins (hidden gun etc..). He was also the master of stealth whereas Connor would tank most battles. Just watch the AC1 trailers if you don't believe me.

It's not just gamers; it's everyone. People like Ezio because he's relatable and he's only that way because he's the only assassin who's lived a normal life like us until the death of his parents at which I think he was 17 years old by then? Altair and Connor both pretty much had a lack of childhood and Edward Kenway... well... can't really say he's had a normal life. I'd say Edward's life until he's become an Assassin was a life of a desperate man trying to establish his legacy and not in an ambitious way. He just wants a life where he can live secure without having to worry what they're gonna do for food in a week or two from now. Also people don't clearly understand they are two different characters therefore they have different personalities. Also from different time periods and different TYPES of era. Generally, if you've lived during an era or time period where there were a lot of hardships, you tend not to be as so carefree as Ezio was but more like Connor's personality. In this manner of perspective, Connor's personality is more realistic and more relatable. He just lacks charm which was one of the focuses to his personality. He's mean to be an outcast. He's meant to be among the ostracized; as he was by his own people and the men he sought to save.
@laxjoh10 жыл бұрын
Also people think they are professional critics who have masters in psychology and behavioral science and think they are experts in analyzing characters... Then you look at their average age and it's like 15-20. If you ever admitted Connor is bland and mundane compared to other Assassin's, you don't understand human behaviorism very well.

AC4 did the same thing as 3 most of the Templars if you hear their death confessioms well Rogers survived but anyway, all of them were actually pretty good people Torres wanted to abolish Slavery and didn't see it as a good practice nor morally righteous, but it seems he didn't do much to stop it maybe because the power he had was dwindling with Edwards Attacks which js why he needed the Observatory to force the Empire to focus on more practical and Just causes, he didn't have any resentment towards Kenway even in his death but he complemented him saying that Ed finally had something to believe in. Rogers was an upstanding guy aside from his ignorance against Slavery but you could see that he wanted peace and truth, he tried pardoning the pirates making sure they would go with their lives and doesn't seem too eager to spill blood. Ducaste (did I spell it right?), Hornigold, and etc. just wanted something more in fact out of all the Pirates Hornigold had a similar goal to Kenway albeit their methods and beliefs of attaining them were completely at odds.

In Mohawk traditions, shaving the sides of their hair was a sign of that warrior going to war. They kept the middle bit as a way to remind them the path of home or something similar of identity. It coincides with burying the hatchet in a post to signify their people doing to war in the midst of a threat, then removing it once it’s passed. :)

What I loved about their argument on the rooftop is that Haythem had a good point about the Continental Congress. They wanted to benefit themselves, held a meeting in private and coated it with pretty words about freedom and stuff.

I love their dynamic together. I also love how Haytham told Connor early on that he doesn’t “feign affection,” but he eventually did feign affection for him in the end. Also, I had just started playing this game about a week ago & I didn’t know anything about it. When I started playing this game, I really enjoyed playing as Haytham. He seemed like the protagonist at first, and I actually rooted for him to win. But then there was the twist that he was a Templar, and I was so surprised by that. This guy I’ve been supporting so long in this game is actually on the villain’s side? This game did a great job of making you understand both sides of this conflict, and made you question who I should be rooting for in the end.

He didn't feign affection. Feigning it means faking it.

I love them both! But, Haytham is the best character in the whole game. And at least for me, one of the best on Assassin's Creed.

I just love the dynamic between these two. Also the hard lessons he gives Connor may sting, but by the end it really shows Connor was listening and appreciated it all.

12:31 Haythams reaction 2 hearing Ziio is dead was kinda sad in a way. He legit looked like his heart broke after hearing that he'll never see her again

“Don’t think I have any intention of caressing your cheeks and saying I was wrong “ A dedicated man lies Haytham. And you were dedicated.

At 30:10 the scenery changes when the lightning strikes and Haytham sees the truth of what Washington did to the Natives and the Seven Years War. The tension between them grows and the lightning strikes and when Connor said “ENOUGH” it was the last straw. I felt really bad for Haytham. He really loved his wife and Connor and wanted his son to see the truth.

Haytham and Connor sequences were hilarious in my view, that's a pity Connor kills him in the end. Not quite comprehending the fact why it had to be this way...

buek14 For starters, he let his Wife die, he helped Charles Lee, who killed innocent beings and berates Connor for no other reason than to confirm his indoctrinated believes.
