We have very similar morning routines! I shower at night but I also prepare everything the night before. I’m a clinical microbiologist, and I’m always wearing different kinds of PPE depending on the organism I’m working with so minimal makeup + mascara is my go-to as well! Thanks for sharing!

I literally do the same makeup and even use the same real techniques brushes. For mascara I also have a drugstore cheaper one and it works wonders. I am also a doctor to be, so I guess that makeup just works for our daily lifestyle in clinic. I love you, you are so beautiful and calming, such an inspiration ❤

I am shook that your whole routine takes 40 minutes?! I do way less than you on my weekday mornings and it takes me the same amount of time if not longer. Having to choose what clothes to wear is definitely one of the more time-consuming parts. Let's normalize wearing scrubs to work for all professions!

I’ve also seen nurses I work with use WonderWink that has tops that they can adjust a front panel with their growing belly. Hope you find something that fits your needs and feels comfy 💕

I loved the NARS concealer for years. It's so nice and workable. Have you gotten a chance to try the Clé de Peau Concealer in the little lipstick lookin tube yet? They have spf 25 in them already, and they are EVERYTHING! You’re such a graceful beauty. BTW

I used Mac’s Haute and Naughty mascara for years, but it was discontinued. After trying several mascaras, I now use L’Oréal’s Unlimited or Thrive. Love both of them. I get both volume and length.

Thank you for letting us in on your routine. I also use a prescription Azelaic acid gel and have always applied at night which prevents me from using a retinol. I think I'll try switching to morning so I can use both! Love your videos Dr. Sam.

If you’re a good candidate for it, my dermatologist has me use 20% aza with 0.025% tretinoin at night and 20% aza in the morning after a quick rinse in the morning for my rosacea! So i don’t see if there’s a problem with retinol

Azelaic acid and tretinoin can usually be used together, but can be more drying than either one alone in my experience. Best to you.

@@msi8311 yeah, but it works for me and you have to be acclimated to one product to introduce another, for me it was about a couple months to get to everyday tretinoin, but azaleic acid only took me a week to introduce

I haven’t used body lotion in years. And I see no difference in my skin than when I slathered myself with it day and night. I have normal skin, and the only thing I stopped doing was using harsh body cleansers, and of course no more tanning. Just no need for body lotion. I was surprised to see you can use that prescription azalaic (sp?) acid in the AM, I wonder I would benefit from that….I use Tretinoin at night, and it seems to have taken care of most of my skin issues. I’ve looked at the Vit C serum you use at Blue Mercury, I just can’t justify the price…thinking of adding Vit C to my AM routine, though. Sunscreen is my biggest headache. I love EltaMd tinted SPF 41, but I get bored using the same thing all the time. I want a light weight tinted one, that I can use a little foundation over when I want. Fig scrubs are awesome!! Pricey, but worth it. One of my coworkers is designing her own line of scrubs, and using (so she says) the same fabric that Figs are made from. She wore a sample pair to work last week, and they look great, can’t wait until she has enough made for me to buy them.
