Here we go again with the second recipe of the series: Butter Tart from Canada!
I love this recipe, first time making it and its sweet, crumbly, gooey and delicious as you would expect from a dessert. It does require a few steps but overall very easy to make.
The recipe yields 6 Tarts, 7 if you use the off cuts. The pasty recipe you can prepare it before hand freeze it and use whenever you need.
Ingredients:
1 + 2Tbsp flour,
1 Tbsp sugar
Pinch salt
1/2 C ice cold cubed butter
3 Tbsp ice cold water with
1 /2 Tbsp lemon juice.
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 Tbsp lemon juice
1 /2 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch salt
1/4 cup lightly toasted pecan pieces
