The point is that it is going to be extremely dangerous in the one circle with supermaneuvrability. It'll allow them to make better use of their R73 and R77 missiles. It doesn't really matter if it's meta for BVR or dogfighting though because it's a CAS aircraft.

For those who really interested how fast such radars should be - just look at the old asf Zaslon PESA radar (developed in the late 70’s), it had 1.3x1.3deg beam and it took 1.2ms to move that beam (to shift phases) so it scanned 60x30deg zone by just 1.66 seconds and now look at this V004 radar (developed in the 90’s) it takes FOREVER to scan 60x12deg zone….

The radar UI needs an update. They need to make it so you can click the display to lock a target seeing has aircraft from the 1970's have cursers that let pilots select targets. Sure you can enable radar curser and bind up down left and right but letting players hold alt then click would be a much better idea. This would also allow them to treat the radar mode at the top as a drop down for quick selection of other modes instead of cycling through all 59 modes as radar's get more advanced

Wow just what the SU34 needed, more nerfs. First they butcher all the flight models for the high tier Russian jets. they add the oldest version of the SU34 that doesnt have thermals, even though the last thing the Russian tree need is another strike aircraft without thermals. they dont add any of the weapons that actually would make it unique. they remove the only weapon that does make it unique. they dont add any of the advanced radar functions for ground target that might actually balance out not having thermals. and they lock the little bit of flight performance behind full real controls making already debatable useful things like doing cobras, almost completely useless in real matches. Maybe if they gave it R77-1, or the lock on after launch to the R27, so it could be used as BVR carrier it could have a use, but with normal R77 being completely out classed in BVR in the game right now, no helmet mounted sight, and basically no dogfighting abilities there is just no point to it in air battles.

Ngl I think Gaijin is still bias towards Russia, but they’re doing it in a way that Russian mains will still be mad even though their stuff is very good (in ground at the very least). Yeah, it’s got no thermals, but the KH-38s give you Gen III thermals and are still the best AGM by far. The Pantsir is the best SPAA by far, but it still doesn’t *totally* cancel out other nation’s CAS (at least some of the time). The T-90M isn’t the best top tier tank, but it’s the best option that isn’t a 2A7. The Vikhr isn’t FnF, but it ignores smoke and is the fastest ATGM. Etc., etc.

@@M0LOCK The KA50/52 are still completely unstoppable. They can lock up ground and air targets with Vikhr missiles that are much faster than any other AGM. The KA50/52 won't crash after having its tail blown off by a tank, while being virtually impossible to lock with IR missiles. The Su25 can literally annihilate an entire spawn in one pass with ridiculous AGM power. The Pantsir literally has no equal and routinely clears out allied aircraft from the airspace. The F15C doesn't have its proper thrust, the M1A2SEPV2 doesn't have DU in the LFP, The F15E nearly didn't get the correct engines, the R27ER dominated for a 18 months, and the T90M is still the best tank in end-tier. For the record, I have both US and RU tech trees entirely researched.

The flaps just help a lot in general when youre going into the vertical since russian planes are so heavy. For the su27 i use takeoff anytime below 300 knots, and switch to landing when 250 or less, but thanks my ocd can rest easy.

I've tested and it isnt that different, it is more of a feeling that you can control the aircraft easier in cobras etc, like the aircraft is pulling basically the same but you can get out of that in a easier way, the su34 tho it feels like it is pulling more, if you use flaps you can get a 100% 180° cobra, the su27 will be close to that but like 20° or so less

Thanks Gaijin thats exactly what we've been crying about on red team, a slow PESA radar couldnt have done it better myself. Maybe Germany will bring back red team with the EF2000, because ive lost hope in russian top tier the IRST was the only redeeming factor for a bad radar, then they proceeded to nerf it on the flanker. Oh well i guess im playing US again next update, dont judge me if you cant beat em join em, see ya red teams.

I don't understand the radar thing really they need to actually have a description on how to use the radar because there's different modes that will pick up different targets doing different things flying simulator I probably change my radar mode probably about every 30 seconds to a minute flying on the deck😂
