"comments off" on the original video by MadeBiker already tells me what I need to know about the individual. Edit: And there it is. MadeBiker’s pinned comment on his most recent video “Cry babies from other channels coming to my channel to cry. Keep coming you all, you’re making me money 💰💰💰💰💰”. It’s a pathetic that someone of his age is acting like a prepubescent teenager having a hissy fit because he can’t stand on the accusations he made about others. Not to mention deleting any and all comments that question his accusations. Edit2: He has now removed the comment and instead added it to his original video's description. He also seemingly has "like botted" his video to make it appear as if the ratio of likes to dislikes is positive - the ratio was overwhelmingly negative the day before to suddenly getting over 1k likes. He really is going above and beyond here considering his usual videos get less than 10% engagement metrics when compared to views.

Love you DM, and I appreciate your points, but it's not that streamers are shills, but rather the heavy influence streamers have on the development of the games by being in person in the game studio and in private discords with the developers absolutely means y'all have your thumb on the scale. It's not actually you, but some of the other streamers with their feedback to Blizzard have been pretty off the mark compared to community sentiment this season. My $0.02 anyways.
@Voltairus302 ай бұрын
You can't even remotely be serious about this if you actually watch those streamers closely. The top blizzard streamers, for every game, have repeatedly pointed out how little Blizzard listens to their feedback when initially given. Its only months later, multiple patches later, do they finally cave on some topics and give the community what they want. Raxx specifically has repeatedly tackled the Diablo genre from every level of gamer and what those groups have as their priority desires. Even those that are more skewed towards the one extreme like Quin69 have had very little impact on getting what they'd prefer as the years have gone on. Even the closest streamers to being a chill like Rhykker is pointed out flaws in Blizzard's approaches for years despite clearly trying to be respectful and glass half full towards Blizzard for the sake of maintaining good relationships. And those examples are just from Diablo. The countless WoW creators from every aspect of the game, have years of videos going on about the lack of innovation and the unrealistic levels gate keeping, etc. Hell, even Kripparian, who's played all of these games while being a large content creator has repeatedly ripped all of them including Hearthstone. Blizzard has repeatedly proven in every game that they arrogantly believe they can do whatever they want but have been forced to eventually cave on concepts after the community finally catches up to how bad these systems are once they play through it despite being warned months in advance by the top end players and content creators that get early access.
@Nomoon7772 ай бұрын
The thing is, even if you are correct and the streaamers have such influence, Lizzard is still the one at fault, directing any backlash on the streamers because they "liked the wrong things" makes no sense, the streamers are no suppoused to be union representatives, they are just players with a audience. the one to blame is the stupid fucking company that keeps making the game shit (and maybe the "fans" that keep giving them money for slop)

It's difficult for D4 streamers... Especially if they are only streamers for D4 and nothing else. The game is garbage but they have to promote it, play it, force themselves to enjoy it, as it is income. The narrative every season is, D4 is better now! The Devs have got to hand it to the streamers who make their game seem better than it is. I mean the new DLC is totally underwhelming, overpriced, focused on fleecing gamers through cosmetics, still has barely any skill customization, rehashes things from 20 years ago because it is totally out of innovative ideas, has everyone playing the same 5 builds, awful campaign, don't even fight Diablo etc etc... You can go on for days. BUT! streamers be like, "D4 good now." So lots of people go and pay the 100 bucks for the trashy expansion. I don't blame the streamers. There's a conflict of interests because they need D4 to be popular for their channels.
@Superawesomegeekshow2 ай бұрын
one of two things going on here. He is unhappy because either things in his brain are not like reality and it becomes a circular argument in his head without actually talking to anyone involved OR he is a bit jealous because his channel hasn’t been invited. If a person has been streaming since launch, they might be wondering why they didn’t get an invite as well. Makes one feel unaccepted and unappreciated in the community, so one might have a tendency to lash out as a result. I mean he's right. Blizzard wouldn't be offering anything if they hadn't identified you as a reliable fanboy/shill; likely for psychological and non-monetary reasons. The goal with the trips and stuff is to create an unconscious gratitude and debt, etc. it's a known tactic openly talked about in other industries, particularly automotive. The appearance of impropriety here is really just as bad as the reality. There's also an access journalism thing going on where you know if you don't keep your mouth shut and go a little too truthful with criticism you won't have any future opportunities for trips and etc. and you want to keep that avenue open in case some good opportunity in the future presents itself. Really think about it; they could have just had their little preview screening event remotely.

Honestly, Diablo 4 is so far from what I wanted, and is only going in the wrong directly. I HATE the whole seasonal reset BS. they did it with D3, cool, been there done that now, and i hate that they did it again with D4. They had a wonderful idea making D4 an MMOARPG. Getting to 100 taking a long time, grinding for low drop weapons, all great ideas but NOT if you're going to do seasonal resets. Instead of supporting their original idea though, they made leveling easier and quicker (and shortening the level cap), they made drops easier to get, and its just a different game that what it set out to be. And whats the point? if the leveling is now designed to be done in a day, and the gear designed to be gotten as quick as possible, and you're going to to do the same thing every season, getting the same gear for the same builds, why bother with the resets? Should just do seasonal content, without the resets, so we can have long term progression characters. When you see a level 100 with a Mythic it should be a testament to the time they put into it. Everything in the game is devalued because it resets every 3 months. And literally all the mechanics, world bosses and events, would actually matter, instead of everyone skipping them because you have to do the most time efficient things since its all a crunch before the next reset. Only really makes sense for short attention span players and content creators whos income depends on the season resets, so they can make the same videos every season. but thats what Diablo devolved into I suppose. Sad to see.

Every single streamer hyped the expansion. The expansion was shit. So is S6. And with the exception of S2, the game has been shit since launch. But then again, in every other profession in real life, the benefits streamers are accepting from companies would be called bribes. But I guess getting inside information and exclusivity on new content to create videos and make more money is more important than valid criticism to actually help improve the game. The ONLY time streamers are criticizing is when the grand majority of players are fed up with Blizzard shit so they want to appeal to that crowd.

Always nice to see your balanced approach, interesting points but agree can not label other streamers for having different opinions or assume it is due to a flight out or hand shake agreement.

I played for 3 weeks straight for this season. Longer than I made it on all previous seasons other than game release. Only reason I enjoyed it, was because there was finally a class that just felt so good to play. The bugs made the class even more fun. Like yeah, way overtuned compared to other classes, but it is so much more enjoyable to play when you’re rewarded for your grind.

I don't blindly trust anyone that aren't my family or personal friends. But I highly respect your opinion because while watching your videos one thing is perfectly clear and that is that you try to be fair and honest and are open to conversations. I mean even in this video you're doing your best to be transparent and trying to have a conversation with someone that clearly isn't interested in having one. The fact he's turned comments off is evidence of that but also within his right to do. I don't wish any ill will towards him but I also wouldn't take his criticisms seriously. You keep doing you man, much love brother.

I feel like if that guy has a monetized channel and is making ad revenue on HIS videos.... then using that same arguement, you can just say he is saying whatever to get views and ads.... I don't have any problem with Darth at all... Always has seemed to be pretty straight-up to me. Going to events or receiving merch or whatever to review doesn't mean you've been bought. Thanks Darth... love ya, bud.

i love how cool-headed you go into these things! very polite and smart. just cut the guy some slack, he doesn’t know better and in the end it is also his frustration that gets through. in reality we all know how messed up d4 is and that it is a mere shadow of what it could have been. we all know the reasons for that and we are all dealing with it individually. in the end it is an industry and we know that the industry does not care about us individually. wether you are a developer, a streamer, a 50+ year old traditional gamer or a 13 year old roblox player… we all just play a part in not being able to change the gears behind this game.

We of the social media must be responsible for our own opinions and behaviours.. I declare that I willingly chosen to be a customer of blizzards Diablo franchises.. no one other then myself can be responsible for my participations. Streams offer information for me to consume and to make my own choices. I do not and will not support justice by social media as it is and will be a kangaroo court if anyone decides to shift their responsibilities to others. Thanks all streamers for your good work on your journalism. It had helped me as a consumer to make my choices. loves !

I'm glad you explained things from your PoV. Streamers can't win in this symbiotic scenario . However, there is gossip going around the Maxroll streamers are paid beyond a free trip. The same arguments are made about journalists on Commercial Mainstream media where they need to be careful about what and how they report on certain topics if it could jeopardise an income stream. Politicians come under the same sort of scrutiny when it comes to upgrades on flights and other gifts (donations) from interest and/or lobby geoups (current topic here in Australia). The point being...if you offered free trips, sent gifts etc one is less likely to give blunt assessments. At the end of the day streamers are going to do what attracts their audience. I do have to say that D4 streamers tend to be seen as the marketing arm of Blizzard. Not sure if I completely see it that way as there's a bit of scratching each others backs in a sense that streamers use Blizzard content for profit....something not usually allowed in other sectors for copyright reasons. Blizzard see the benefit of streamers having fun playing their games so turn a blind eye to that. Anyway....you explanation does put my cynicism to ease.... or...did Blizzard pay you to make this one (just jokin'). Cheers.

Rhykker is the only streamer I see in the thumbnail regularly. He does great ARPG news so is a must see, he even covers stuff other creators miss. He is somewhat of a fan boy, but he always announces the community dislike of things regardless of his own opinion, and I find him consistent and reliable. He isn't guilty for any of the things this guy mentioned. He did say that D4 is in the best state ever, and he was excluding crashes and seasonal content. I haven't even played and objectively I agree, as the game has come along way. He specifically said the expansion is half baked when it comes to content and he and others are disappointed in that regard. One of the reasons I've not played is watching Asmongold and Rhykker talk about the inconsistency and growing pains of the game and how it is a new game every 3-6 months. I may skip the expansion and play more than 10 hours total next year on that expansion regardless of what people say about it to get a full experience of the 2 originally planned DLC's (we may not get more and Blizzard claimed not long ago D5 is in the works or will come alot sooner than we expect). And then I can pickup the title on sale. I got 30 dollars off the base game. Right now I want to purchase the Warcraft battlechest! They are supporting Warcraft reforged again to make it better and it includes remasters of WC1 and WC2!

Worked as a games journalist for a couple of years myself. You get invited all the time to events online and offline. This is nothing new. I also did attend events by Blizzard back in the day. They are usually pretty chill and do not try to influence your coverage so directly. I have seen other publishers trying to pull off such things and have heard of bribery but I think that in this specific case the content creators do a fine job of conveying their honest opinion about the add on and new season without being biased by their exclusive event. Just my two cents.

i think you're missing part of the point on going on trips is to meet the developers and build 1on1 relationships, which can be of higher value long term that the immediate value of the trip.

Just because Blizzard offers incentives to streamers doesn't mean they can't be trusted. I was offered a paid promotion from Blizzard, but wasn't able to release the full video because of controversial subjects mentioned in it. So, I just turned it down. But the content that WAS released was fully true to both Blizzard and my own team's standards. The real truth here is, people think that other streamers are ONLY successful because they've done something devious. When really, they're just good at what they do and know who they are. They're real. They're relatable. And that's why people like them. Streamers need to look for inspirations and not excuses.

I was going to comment on that guy's video, but he turned off the comments by the time the algorithm showed it to me. I am not a streamer and therefore I can only go off what I saw from those who did get to test the Spiritborn. Firstly it was a level 30 character with a pre defined build, presumably with only enough skill points to cover 30 levels plus all the Altars of Lillith and those new shrines in Nahantu from the zone rep thing. So what is that, about 38 points maybe. I dont even think that is enough to unlock the key passive, or if it is you can only just barely get there. How many of the bugs with Spiritborn are linked to paragon points and legendary nodes and how they interract with other skills? If you were to take away half the skill points and not spend any Paragon at all right now in the game. How many of the bugs could you even possibly trigger to make the Spiritborn OP? My guess is very few if not none, so how the streamers could have seen those bugs on a level 30 capped Spiritborn character with a predefined build is beyond me. I guess that dude who made the video didnt think that far through before dribbling his nonsense all over youtube. As for the crashes, yeah the game does appear to have a memory leak, but I think its had some form of memory leak since launch. My rig doesnt run out of RAM, but the game often gets to a point usually in a load screen at some time where it just crashes, this happens at about 15GB RAM usage. For my system of 64GB its nowhere near close to maxing the RAM, but I guess the game engine just cant handle it. Often when I go to login, when you get to the Logging in screen with the round swirly animation, most times that feezes at downloading data and the game stops responding (I have 1gbps fiber internet). If I am patient it gets past it after 30 seconds or so. That said, sometimes it just doesnt get past it and the game refuses to use more than 400MB of memory and doesnt load in. At the beginning of Season 6, it almost always never got in and the game would crash. But as the patches have rolled out, it seems to get past that point much more frequently and faster, but it still hangs there for a bit and sometimes still gets flagged by windows as a not responding application. Its clear they have some pretty inefficient code in the game, and garbage collection isnt working properly. But its likely because during development the higher ups forced the coders to push the game out fast and the core base of the game is so horribly inefficient that trying to fix it post launch is really hard as they have to recode large chunks of the underlying framework which has to be done very delicately as to not destroy the inner workings of the game. Its always better to take the time to code things properly and not have to go back, but bean counters and share holders/executives dont understand that, they understand lack of coin from seasonal content only. The best seasonal mechanic I have played so far for me would be Season 2... The green helltides, man I wished they just kept those in the game as permanent events. I know they changed helltides to be a lot like them, but what I found fun is when the vampires started stalking you, and they kept stalking you even in other content like nightmare dungeons. I found that the more of the shards that I piled up on my toon the more I would encounter those tougher vampire packs just spawning on me in a NMD. Once I got 2 packs of those spawn on me when I was fighting the Butcher, my build at the time was an AOE build so the butcher after all the trash died was taking a bit of time to get down, then 6 of those things jumped on me and all of a sudden I firstly almost died as I wasnt expecting it, then with the extra targets I ended up smashing both the butcher and those other guys, but was left with 0 health potions left. It was a load of fun, other than that one thing (probably the only thing) that I miss from D3 is the kill streaks that give XP bonuses, and the contrainer smashing streaks, that feature alone made me want to go out and smash demons more, and it made conduit shrines more fun to zap containers... That said the D3 conduit shrine wasnt as ill conceived as the D4 one.

That guy’s video is so absurd to me because my biggest issue with Diablo youtubers has been that I feel like they are overly negative about a game I enjoy. That’s actually one of the main reasons I gravitated towards your content in Season 0, DM. It pissed me off that some of these other content creators were dunking on the game for things I enjoyed about it, and I disliked how it was ruining the enjoyment of some of my friends who were more impressionable. To name names: Asmongold basically left me with no friends on the game because he convinced them they should dislike the game and not aspire to hit level 100. When I discovered you, you were just innovating with the Druid at the time, and I thought that was cool. Keep doing you, DM. I’ve only had 2 crashes on my Series X thus far this season btw, so I feel like he’s blowing that complaint out of the water a bit. Obviously I’m excited for the Spiritborn to be fixed so I won’t feel like I have to play it, but if I’m feeling down on the game I’m not going to be seeking out content for it, so why should content creators just shove negativity down my throat when I’m seeking out said content?
