What is the perfect treatment that can cure type 2 diabetes (!) and lead to effortless weight loss? Listen to the eloquent Dr. Jason Fung describe it in this 12-minute part of a longer interview.
** Observe: This treatment is extremely effective. If you have diabetes and take blood sugar lowering medication (especially insulin injections) you may need to reduce the doses a lot to avoid potentially dangerous hypoglycemia. You may instantly become too healthy for your medication. **
In the full 45 minute interview Dr. Fung goes into more detail about exactly how to add fasting to your low-carb diet, important things to consider and how to avoid potential problems.

My oldest son is in his early 20's and he has type 1 diabetes. But thank God for this piece of article kzbin.infoUgkxVYhghKWmrUgXARZ_ydZTvmmcrw5L0I5i At first he thought he had the flu and was lying down on the bed for three days until his sister took him to the hospital. They took his blood and it was 600. What I do not understand is how he could have gotten it, since no one in the family has it. But he is winning the battle now. This is good stuff.

I am 190 I always been 145 my whole life at one point lower than that I've gained over 50 lbs in the last 4 years and now that I am engaged I am wanting more to be healthy again. kzbin.infoUgkx5VQ5nUzHu6i0O5_u7ipyLnCz0lbsSvr0 I am not fat but I am thick and have muscle. I am very close to how you were but a lil smaller but I am so sick people making comments to me like I'm huge or like you said having shorts that used to be so cute on me and now I can't even find a pair to fit me. I used to love shopping now I don't even want to go to the store and if I do I pick the biggest size don't even try it on and deal with it. I went from size 5 to size idk because I don't even want to know the real number. I hate looking at pics of myself now or me before. thank you for your video it's time to make a change.

Dr Fung is my hero. In January 2021 I was 55 yrs old in menopause and more than 100 lbs over weight. I had quit smoking the year before and in menopause. Even though I thought I was eating healthier the weight was staying on. I was too exhausted to exercise and was restricting my calories. I started watching Dt Fung. I tossed my high carb cereal and low fat options and went strictly low carb about 20 net carbs a day and started intermittent fasting 16 hours a day. I am doing healthy keto more plant based keto and extended fasts for up to 3 days a week. I am 15 lbs away from loosing 130 lbs. I am so thankful for you Dr Fung. You changed my life. 😊

I listened to Dr Fung a few times and followed his logic. In a matter of 3 or 4 months I took myself off all medications. For the last year my BP, cholesterol and A1C have all been great. Thanks to Dr Fung I have a normal life and hope for the furure.

You can look him up by name on youtube and google and get his plans, but essentially, he's telling you to start intermittent fasting, and cut out carbs and sugar. Allow your body to start breaking down its stores of fat and use that to fuel your body instead of food. Once you reach homeostasis, or balance and your health and numbers are normal, you permanently change your diet to a healthy one of mainly fruits and veggies. You can cure diabetes, cancer and all disease processes this way.

Dr Fung is my hero! I was diagnosed last May with A1C 12. I took jardiance duo and metfo. I have done the combination of intermittent fasting, exercise and low carb diet. In the 2nd month of it, my doc told me to go off med after seeing my daily FG everyday for a week. Iwas very happy, and keep doing what i have been doing till now (and, i hope, forever) Last month, I checked my recent A1C and I am on 5,5. Couldnt be happier than this. He is truly a hero.. Also ate much less in general and I lost 30lbs in 4 months and am now feeling 20 years younger. No more stiff joints, a much flatter belly and just feeling great. Certainly works for me.

@@munahtheniqabi ... I can tell you from my experience, diet is #1. You don't need to exercise to lose the weight if nutrition is on point. If you are not eating right, you won't be able to "out exercise" a bad diet. Regarding the hormone insulin and prediabetes/Type 2 diabetes, exercise is great to drive the blood sugar down. Think of exercise as icing on the cake. Doing both is optimal.

@@NOOR5083 I like some parts of Islam, some parts of it I don't like. I like fasting, brotherhood, helping the poor, helping others, love for Allah. What I don't like: Prophet Mohammed. Why? He either changes his mind, lies a lot and breaks his oaths. Like he is not trusthworthy. He says no compulsion in religion yet he invades mecca and force converts the meccans. he also tells people that he will invade, either convert, stay but pay taxes (jizya) or be exiled. He also killed people who surrenders in wars including defenseless young boys, poets and singers. He attacks during Ramadan. He says death is better than unbelief when breaking his oath, saying Allah says so. I don't think he is really a prophet because he is a thief and slaver. He also commands muslims to fight non muslims until there is no more fitnah or unbelief, if so, jihad is not for defense anymore but for invasion. Islam will know no peace because of this because the world will not accept Islam because of how forceful it is.

As A diabetic of 10 yrs who couldn’t get my sugars under control - even when they quadrupled my meds I remained at 250 fasting. I will say this: 6 months ago I started a super low carb ....calories were from 5% net carbs, 25% protein and 70% good fat diet (keto) along with light fasting periods of 12-16 hrs a couple times a week. I did lose 30lbs, my blood sugars are now completely normal with NO PRESCRIPTIONS. After 10 yrs with no real control!!! So, I’m happy to agree with Dr. Jason Fung . What he’s saying is exactly true in my case, as well as others I know too. It’s a DIETARY disease for sure! UPDATE: 4/24/2020... Now down 45 lbs! Still no need for meds UNLESS I eat alot of fruit. In one afternoon got a little crazy and ate 1/2 banana, 1 cup of raspberries and 3/4cup papaya... Glucose hit 190... So I did have to take some meds... Still have to watch what I eat! So beware...and stay on that low carb lifestyle!

As of today, I have been a diabetic over 20 years. My doctor always told me that cut out the red meat and work out. Over last 20 years I have not even lost one pound but I ended up gaining weight. My doctor told me that I will have diabetes for the rest of my life. He also said that I will run out of insulin soon if I don’t cut of red meat and work out. 3-5-2022 I had a blood test. Found out that I have high proteins in my urine. 4-14-2022 I had a CT Scan. I ended up with fatty liver and a lot of gallstones on my right kidney. That’s when I started to google on KZbin found my life saver Dr. Eric Berg and Dr. Jason Fung. I started eating Keto and Intermittent Fasting. As of today 6-4-2022 My ( HGB A1C) is 5.6 My ( Cholesterol ) is high 452 Kidney and liver tests are normal and don’t have Hepatitis C Infection also I lost my dream weight and I am very happy and healthy. I wish all will with good health and spread the information to all your love one. God Bless.

I was diagnosed with diabetes type 2 about a year ago, I was instantly put on Januvia and a high cholesterol med. I was referred to an Endocrinologist, who put me on Metmorfin( 1,000 mg 2 pills twice a day) I was sick for days... I was put on 500 mg 1 pill twice a day and insulin. Then trulicity was added. Before starting insulin I was finally able to get down to 198 lbs. Now I weight 220 lbs, take insulin twice a day, metmorfin twice a day, still take the high cholesterol med and trulicity once a week. My blood sugar is always high, I have been working out 4 to 5 times a week and can’t lose the damn weight. And then I see this video, which gives me hope. I will give this a try!

Thank you Dr. Fung! I reversed my type 2 diabetes in 10 months from 7.9 to 5.5 (5.3 with my newest test) by following your intermittent fasting protocol. I chose to do the daily 16:8 and only stuck to low carb the first two weeks, but the daily 16:8 worked just fine on its own. I also ate and drank things no diabetic has any business having. It just doesn’t seem to matter much what I eat, as long as I get in 16 hours of clean fasting each day. So I’m proof it works even if people won’t change their diets. The low carb in the beginning did help to reduce how much sugar I was eating once I reintroduced refined carbs back into my diet, so I tell people to stick with that as long as they can. I see my doctor this week to discuss when to reduce the victoza I’ve been on. He and the dietician he sent me to have been thrilled with my progress. My blood pressure, cholesterol, and inflammation are now all normal too. I didn’t learn about intermittent fasting in time to save my dad or my uncle, but I tell everyone I can how it saved me and how it can save them too!

I ate 15 bean soup with greens for 2 months… no rice, sugar, pasta, sodas, juices, anything with a label, and fast food is full of sugar and salt. No grease (Oils) are good because of wheats, sugar, and salt is in it….. Anything that good made is good… Fasting is a plus and the game changer.

This doctor is on point because I am the proof of what he has just educated us. As a type 2 diabetic since I started taking insulin 5 years ago I gained 85 lbs. I have lost 95 lbs in 4 and half months. From 435 down to 330 and my goal is 240 lbs. My life style change consisted of 80 % good fats and 20 % good carbs . I eat 2 meals a day one at 11am second at 6 pm. Then that's it no food in take after 6 pm. So basically I'm feasting about 18 hours only intake I consume is half litre of lemon water and just water it self. My A1c went from 10.3 down to 6.1 last week. Also 30 minute walk or tredmil every day. In Begining I couldn't walk more then 10 minutes now I can go for an hour. I was taking 100 units a day and 3 medication once a day just for diabetes and 3 for hp , plus quick pen insilin every day. I have cut that in half now. I wish you folks the best who is going through what I did and another thing , majority of doctors are not like this doctor who became a doctor to help mankind. The majority of doctors just want to add more medicine in your body to come back every month like use to do. Peace to all and thank you Dr Jason Gung your good man.

The contribution of Dr. Fung has profound impact on teaching patients and other health practicians to learn how nutrition has a great impact on our health. We must protect Dr. Fung. Since I lost 30 lbs on Keto/carnivore my numbers are very good. My friends are now interested in how I did it and they are amazed when I shared what I learned from Dr. Fung, Dr. Berg and other Keto and Interment Fasting enthusiasts.

What a lovely spoken man this doctor is. I am going to be looking into all his video's concerning this because as a recently diagnosed type 2 diabetic, I am trying my hardest to avoid the medications they so easily throw at you here in the UK. Quite a few members in my family had type 2 and 2 of them went on to have insulin injections ( I always thought these were only given to type 1 patients). Thank you so much Dr Fung for sharing this with me. Much appreciated.

@@7MonarC They are. HIV / AIDS is a hoax. HIV is a retro virus triggered by many conditions (including by being pregnant or on a nutrient deficient diet). Much money made by building careers around research, also by manufacturing and dishing out condons, through HIV testing and poisonous retro-viral treatment. Similar as with chemo for cancer, those who do not receive treatment remain alive. Most tragic how people are living in fear - many losing hope - and stop functioning, because of their supposed 'HIV status'. Some are rejected by their community. There is an increasing number of MD's standing up against this.

once you understand what Dr Fung is saying you realize how much BigPharma is taking advantage of people. Allopathic doctors manage disease. Naturopaths and chiropractors heal disease. And patients gullibly go along with allopaths until they listen to someone like Dr Fung. But by then they're so brainwashed they don't care to change. Diabetes is a DIETARY DISEASE. Change your diet, heal your disease.

I'm in rn school and everything we are learning is pretty just maintaining the clients comfort for the short term and do nothing to develop plans that will help their quality and quantity of life. The current medical approach is horrible even with infections it's not just redundant in treating diabetes but also many other health concerns. The current medical model has been purposely biased because there is no money in natural approaches.

I've been trying for a while now to get my brother to do some intermittent fasting and eventually some extended fasts, maybe 5 or 6 days ... but that bastard just won't stop eating! It really frustrates me because he's getting more and more health issues from his diabetes and related health complications. I really want to help him, but he's so resistant to helping himself. This needs to be part of the regular health class curriculum in grade school so people are less likely to start down the path of getting this disease in the first place.

ZombieTex I know what you mean. My brother does have diabetes thankfully but I wish he was more disciplined with his diet. I know that experience made a big impression on me. It’s a nasty disease. Best of luck to you and your brother.

ZombieTex have him do the 16/8 intermittent fasting and eat 8 hours. He can drink and use mints the rest of the time and it includes sleep as part of fasting.b I'm type 1. My endocrine system, from eating GMO foods is toast. If he won't stop eating, at least get organic. Get him all the salads and put cashews and dates and apples...make it huge and good with fruit juices as the dressing and use himalayan salt, can't spell, and get melons for his cravings...water fruits. Watermelons every night. When I was able to do this, I was almost off insulin entirely in one month! If I could afford this and a vitamix, I would be healed. As it is, I can only afford the salads while the government spends thousands on insulin instead of helping more with food. It's backwards as is the food pyramid. See Markus and Cara Rothkranz on KZbin, also Kristina, raw vegan. I love them!!

Street Wise 1 second ago Nice work!! At least we know Dr Fung is on our side......someone who knows what's going on! @9:40 Dr. Fung makes a mistake. He means "raise blood sugar", not raise insulin.......why? If you are a type 1 diabetic that produces no insulin, then you administer your insulin accordingly but fat does not raise glucose levels. I've been diabetic for 40 years and was mistakenly told all those years ago to eat 150 grams of carbs per day but, because the carbs would RAISE my blood glucose levels, I was then told to inject insulin in order to LOWER blood glucose levels. This made no sense to me whatsoever, even at 19 years old. What was the point in eating something that made your glucose levels rise, then need something to counter that effect!! Just cut out the carbs, surely this more logical? The keto diet is the best diabetic diet. Carbs are no good for your health on many counts. Cancer cell for example thrive on a carbohydrate type diet, but struggle to survive on a keto based diet. It's about time the general public knew about this. No doubt this comment won't get seen by the general public.

@@johnm5855 thanks for the reply! I understand that one will lose weight if they don't consume sugars. But you said you only ate for 4 hours and I thought it was too short a window to actually eat enough food. While it's important to lose weight, isn't it important to eat enough? I only end up consuming 700 calories in a 8 hour window of feeding and while I do lose weight, I'm afraid only 700 calories is highly unsustainable.
