I don't own that vehicle, but I'm always grateful that you take the time to put in the necessary details for the maintenance that you do. Thank you very much for your time and effort.

I've had my m54 e46 since 2006 and covered over 120k miles. Rather than the hassle of replacing the diaphragm in an aged and brittle plastic DISA I just replace the entire unit with an aftermarket DISA, they're good for about 40k
@djm95834 ай бұрын
The oem disa is the only one to use, and they are expensive. Id take a rebuilt oem over a new aftermarket any day, especially with the GAS rebuild kit in the oem.

the DISA is a little over engineered to be cheap, thats why the price, if u dont want the hassle of it, just delete it, but i wouldnt recommend an aftermarket, even tho, first time i hear bout a afktermarket disa lol

@@djm9583 of the 3 disas that I've had, covering 170k (120k myself) I've always had a vacuum pot failure, never a shaft failure. I still inspect the DISA abt once a Yr, I think my current one is 40-60k old

@@camialeh it's a clever design, but it's not overengineered lol, it's just made of a few pieces of plastic that are joined with a ultrasonic welding (ie glue), cheaper to manufacture and also deters ppl from taking things apart to repair, forcing ppl to buy a whole new part. I wouldn't trust a DISA with a vacuum pot replaced, just be done with it and get a replacement. My 3rd DISA (1st aftermarket) has lasted longer than my 2nd OEM DISA

@@ozstriker4075 my 220k m54 is in his 2nd DISA and the first on was repaired and the guy who bought it(knew it was repaired) saying is not having a lot of problems Im talking bout the funcion of the DISA itself bc is electronic and im bout to know almost everything bout ms43, so nah, sitck to OE or OEM parts, just look for them on non-scalpers sites

Where i can buy that diaphragm?
@mattvaughan3971 Жыл бұрын
The diaphragm is easy to damage, and the cap usually breaks when opening this up. I don't know of anywhere to buy just the diaphragm. Be sure to test the DISA before attempting this repair, as the diaphragm may not need to be replaced. Search for "BMW 330i 325i E46 DISA Valve Operation Test" to learn how to test the DISA, including the diaphragm.

where did you get the diaphram?
@CtrlAltDefeatTV Жыл бұрын
This particular diaphragm I got out of a junkyard car's disa valve. I've seen a few pop up online for sale but you'll have to do some deep googling to find them.
