If I am not mistaken, you mentioned the car was tuned with pulley from VAP on the original motor. My guess might be if you didn't reinstall the VAP pulley from the original motor (and it didn't look like you did) if the ECU is running the tune file on a motor without the pulleys, this could account for some of the issues you are having. Have you tried to contact VAP to see if you could get the original ECU file and flash that back or did you transfer over the pulleys?

Doesn't jag have a clear flood mode that allows you to turn the engine over several times without it starting? Running clear flood or manually disconnecting ignition to turn engine over several times before allowing to start should be protocol on an replacement engine. This allows the oil pump to fill all caveties with oil before starting under ignition.......or is this not necessary on junkyard replacements.....

Steering on my 2017 F Type is not heavy in standard running mode, there is more weight when it is in dynamic mode. Having said that Jag had switched to electric PAS by2017. Also worth being careful when using an OBD reader. After using mine and disconnecting the car continued to run a routine and the systems would not go fully into sleep mode when the car was locked, until I disconnected the battery for a couple of minutes.

Those nasty, wide rims 👍 will have some effect on steering. Toe them nearly parallel, and barely toe out. If those oxygen sensors are not new, they are trashed, and finding a lean or rich mix code or value will lead the way, after all new sensors.

Let's hope it's something easy and stupid like a loose wire or something. I had a beater 82 Celica I got dirt cheap and it was running great after we cleaned the pieces of the air pump out of the carburetor. After a month or so and a lot of work replacing worn out parts it just started missing and falling on its face under load. I was trying to figure out what went south as I replaced the plugs and the distributor and I opened the hood at dusk and it looked like a big lightning storm all around the plug wires. Some new wires later it was good to go again.

GM has easy power steering and Ford cars and suvs have a heavy feel. When Ford employees complained about it to a team of visiting engineers we were told the corporate design philosophy was to think of a "female driver" when creating a car/suv design and that their studies showed women prefer a slightly stiffer steering feel. And by the numbers Ford is right. Men buy their trucks and women buy the suvs...
