There is a huge backstory as to how she ended up there at that interview. These trashy concert promoters brought her to Stern. Two theories about the Stern interview: Either 'Clay' truly was a serial killer and went to Stern because he knew nobody would believe his story going to Stern, with Stern's history of trolling...or 'Clay' out-trolled _Stern_ with a story that made the radio's biggest asshole become scared. Seeing Stern, who's always acting like a smug piece of shit, actually beginning to realize who he's interviewing, is both scary and a bit karma inducing, considering Stern always tried to have some power over the people he interviewed/mocked/embarrassed.

Well it would go back way further and I hope doesn't continue to 2002, as he said he killed the first one when he was 16, the call happened in 1996 when he said he had killed 15 already, hadn't killed in nearly a full year, and he said he had kids, an ex-fiance, and other things that would make one think he's at minimum in his late 20s or more realistically his 30s. The mother of one of my good friends growing up may have been murdered by “Clay” in either 1999 or 2000. She was walking down a street in the Baton Rouge area. Though she wasn’t a sex worker, it was a rough neighborhood. Just like the caller said, a hammer was used to murder her. We knew there were at least two serial killers in this area at the time. Derrick Todd Lee (caught in 2003) and Sean Vincent Gillis (caught in 2004). Some think Gillis murdered her, as a lot of his victims were picked up in this same area. We also have the Jennings serial killer from the more western part of the state. Everyone knows that there are a lot of cover-ups involved with that one, from the police to a few elected officials. The police are said to know who it is and because of his ties to them, there is no chance it will ever officially be solved. The BRPD, NOPD, and LSP say they know of a few active serial killers in southern Louisiana. Sadly, there isn’t much effort put into finding them until they kill someone deemed worthy of deserving justice.

It's hard to determine whether the Stern caller was genuine or it was well acted. Personally, I think it was genuine because the caller Clay, remained calm and didn't seem nervous. He knew specific details and never show remorse for his crimes. Also, the call to Howard Stern's show may have been his only way to confessing his sins, without actually paying the price.

It didn’t sound to me like confessing sins so much as taking credit. It’s want of recognition and another chance to make a play for power that would’ve made him call. That’s the exact opposite of confessing sin.

Go to China. No one steps in to help. Why? Because a) there are criminals who use that angle to scam others and b) the criminal "justice" system in China is just as likely to blame a good Samaritan as they are the perpetrator in the name of police expediency in looking to solve a crime. So people stay away. And in the US, where levels of violence are way outside the norm for an industrialized society, I can fully understand why bystanders would not want to get involved. A divided society, apathy, fear of the unknown, and an instinct for self-preservation all outweigh a desire to help your fellow man.

Why would the caller's calm demeanor when being insulted prove that it was a hoax? If this guy actually killed 12 people, there's a good chance he's a psychopath. Most psychopaths do not feel, or at the very least, respond with the same kind of emotion we would consider typical. I'm not suggesting it isn't worth considering at all, I just wouldn't be so quick to use his awkward behavior to jump to such definitive conclusions.
@Nekris4212 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily, even if they are emotionally dead, they are absolutely narcissistic and blatant public blows to their fragile egos would almost surely elicit a response, likely a more extreme one than... Well... Pretty much anything else. They're not known for their anger management skills either, even if it makes more sense or is more strategic to conceal it at the time, they will still erupt. Perfect example is Ted Bundy's trial, with the whole "TELL THE JURY THAT THEY WERE WRONG!!" after the verdict was read... Some jurors stated that once they saw the monster in him release like that, it was the first time in the whole trial that removed all doubt of his guilt and capability of his horrific crimes... All this said, for a handful of reasons I believe Clay was entirely real... From the nonchalance, the plausibility of being unnoticed since his victim pool were all members of the "less-dead," to use a term the police coined to describe murdered homeless people, drug addicts and prostitutes, people who they consider less than human, almost deserving of their fate and therefore not even worth investigating fully instead taking a "good riddance" mentality. Lastly, and I know this is in no way conclusive, but between the statistics on numbers of serial killers likely operating in each US state at any given time uncaught, but more specifically the way he spoke having a A LOT of similarities that I can't quite put my finger on to other serial killers I've heard speak of their crimes... It's not just the monotone, the composure, casual and flippant talk about human life, but lack of insight into one's own compulsions that seems consistent with it being true, but something also beyond all this that evades me. Perhaps one of yall can help me out there.
