HALLO!? A few points I missed in the video: 1) For polygel *specifically*, I use this "steamer" as an acetone warmer which is why I fully submerge my nails into it. I found that when the polygel makes direct contact with the warm acetone, it softens faster than steaming alone. 2) I do the T-Rex claw because the inside of the steamer is super cramped and I'm trying to fit all my nails into the little acetone tray, facing down. I also let out a "rawr" each time. 3) I will definitely do follow up videos, one of which will be of me trying this on JUST gel polish, using only the steam of the acetone. 4) Do I think the steamer is revolutionary? No. Through trial and error, I have learned that the key to removing gel, dip and polygel is warm acetone. This method can be easily achieved without a steamer, as I demonstrated in my last polygel removal video. Do I think the steamer is convenient? Yes. Thank you for watching! 🖤

Hi hun I get so excited when you post I can never get enough, no matter the content! To be completely honest I can't say I'm a fan of this removal method, it uses a lot of acetone to begin with, the you end up having to discard after use. Also, as a nail tech I'm constantly trying to limit the amount of chemical exposure the nails and skin see. This method exposes a lot of skin to the harsh chemicals and over time can cause irritation and premature aging of skin. The cotton and foil removal method (although tedious) is going to limit the amount of contact between acetone and skin. If you have those plastic nail clips I'd recommend wrapping the nails in foil then placing the clips to lock in heat. Using the clips alone causes the acetone to dry out too quick. Another tip for removal is to take a fine sanding band to the nail bed after scraping the product off to help remove what's leftover before re-soaking. I hope to see more vids & please can you tell Lou bun he needs to post more of his cute lil face on IG🐰

The bad thing about these steamers is taking all fingers out at once. As soon as you remove nails from the acetone, the product begins to reset. That’s why every time you did it, the first nail came out the best after scraping, and each finger after that became more difficult. The best method is wrapping each finger tip in cotton soaked wipe/ball, wrap in foil and remove one foil cap at a time. Also do one hand at a time.

there’s these nails i’ve been seeing that you can do with polygel & i would love to see it for when my kit comes in the mail! from what i’ve seen, you use a thin layer of clear polygel, then place iridescent glitters or shapes, & then add whatever color you’d like underneath. in a way encapsulating the glitters or what have you! i’ve seen many variations of it with acrylic & polygel but i’d like to see this with ALL polygel since i kind of already know about the acrylic. just an idea tho! :)

I ended up getting one from Walmart the other day. I had gel polish on my nails but underneath the gel polish I had a some polygel over cracked nails and the steamer removed the gel polish. I felt it did a good job and it felt comfortable enough. It removed the gel polish on the 10 minute mark and turned the polygel underneath to goo. So, I gently scraped the gooey polygel and then put my hand back in the steamer for another 10 minutes (five more didn't remove it). Again, I gently used a pusher to remove the polygel and barely buffed my nails. A little while later 3 of mine felt really really sore. When I looked at them closely it seemed like they had little marks (looked like rug burns on my nail bed) where some of the polygel came off. They are still sore! I am not sure if I used it too long or it was the polygel or maybe the scraping off of the gooey polygel. Idk, but they hurts like all heck!! Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly I get so lazy with removing my gel I leave it until it lifts enough for me to pop them off (which also makes me realize I need to work on my application 😤). So far the steamer doesn’t impress me.... side note I kept wanting to say this: I looooove the background music you chose for your videos.... it’s so catchy and relaxing. It kind of gives me the 1975 vibes.

I've been interested in getting one of these steamers myself the only thing that I feel is a drawback for me personally is if it took you three 10 minute sessions for one hand it's going to take at minimum an hour just to remove product from both hands. It already takes me 3+ hours to do my nails (because I'm learning and probably not very good).
@TheBeautyVault5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, polygel is a real pain to remove, it takes me this long to remove it with or without the steamer. Next time, I’m going to file down most of the polygel before using it and time it to compare.
