That's a really good point. That being noted, maybe we'll go back and make the straps connect over the shoulders and to the back. Thanks for the feedback. The good news is that the buckles we used, although secure, will give out if you pull on them too hard which is fortunately an ok safety mechanism. In the end though, you're right.

made it, slight altercations, but pretty much same design, couldn't be happier. thanks.

1. Before you attach your buckle on the adjusting end, get an elastic loop around the webbing to keep your excess strap from flopping around in front of your lense. I'd do this for all adjusting straps. 2. It would be easier to adjust on the fly if you were pulling downwards on the adjusting strap over your shoulder - maybe make the longer side a fixed length and the shorter side the adjustable end. You could tuck the excess strap behind the mounting plate to help with the issue in #1.

TIP: Burn the cut edges of the strap (only a little bit) with a BBQ lighter or so, so it won't feather out and get loose over time.

Meh, I just used duck tape and put it around my chest with camera and it works pretty sweet.

Good idea! If you take a Bic lighter you can melt the ends of the strap so the don't keep unraveling. It will look better too.
@nononoplsno488410 жыл бұрын
It doesn't have to be Bic

Cut straps at a 45 deg angle. Use lighter to melt nylon so it doesn't unravel.

So if I understand right,the horizontal straps goes up then around the neck, then back down to the plastic plate? thats not very comfy after a long time using it. I would buy a clear or black plastic plate from the hardware store and make a 2nd plate to fit in my back so the strap can be mounted in the back to have a better fit.

i made my own today, i made it in 2 hours it cost me €7,50 about 5 bucks.. great tut!!

Make sure you burn the ends of the nylon so it does not shred or fray

In my opinion, we need to using sewing machine rather than by manual to get sturdy and strong strap. Thanks for sharing the idea!
@andrewcaruana1310 жыл бұрын
the shape is perfect, the only thing you're doing bad is when you pass the strap from behind the mount rather than sewing both ends to it. this way you could tighten it better :)
@thra5herxb12s4 жыл бұрын
Also dont cut your slots too close to the edges or the straps will pull them apart 👍

Good DIY, but you shouldn't use any strap on your cervical spine, because it might cause you some injuries. You should arrange another solution for that.

Noob You can use any material wood metal or any flat plastic piece and just use your sticky mount to it. Be sure to use your flat sticky mount and not the curved helmet sticky mount.
