Another great video Always like the idea of a Kobutan (pressure point stick)........... I am surprised anybody would even consider trying to straight punch someone with it poking out from between their fingers. A roll of Lifesavers fits neatly into the palm of your hand.......... the Peppermint Lifesavers are less likely to break.......... much better than using a Bic lighter......... and less obvious than a roll of coins. Glass breakers..........The extendable headrest in most vehicles is designed to come out of the actual seat so its prongs can be used a glass breaker. Close your eyes just as you break the glass underwater........... it minimises the chance of getting a piece of glass in your eye as the water rushes in. If a car is submerged........ first let inside the cabin fill up with water to equalise the pressure inside and out....... then try opening the door normally.............the glass window will also be much easier to break.

Flashlight is especially useful; can disorient as well as be used as a force multiplier; AND can be taken anywhere without being seen as a weapon. I always take one when traveling by airplane ✈️ 👍

Hi Matt, great class. When i carried the kubaton on the PD, i preferred the aluminum variety. For me, gripping was better and less slippage in the hand, than the poly plastic variety. From my experience, the kubaton was one of the best "additude adjustment" tools, an officer could carry for self defense.. Stay safe. Doug.

I think I am going to take my chances with the glass breaker pen it maybe easier to argue your way out of a problem if any one says its a weapon! Note : a warning though I read some where that if you bring that pen on a plane or something similar it could be called a Kubotan!!! ( a banned martial arts weapon )

Was great watching this video live. I was on KZbin, and, suprise....🍀. Used a marker for training recently. Perhaps the Mini Maglite can be a great kubotan. Thank you very much and many greetings..🙏.

Pliers and hex keys can be good options, especially if you are a mechanic or machine worker. Plausible deniability. A closed multitool or pocket knife can work too.

Hi Matt, I came across this video and I would NOT recommend ever using the regular sized kubotan sticks as you have shown @6:58 onward, for a different reason than you mentioned. When positioned between the middle and ring finger like that, there is WAY too much side leverage imparted to the small bones in the user's hand. That's the reason on my Ti Rod Tactical short neck or keyring carry sticks, using a hose carriage that the stick separates from, I only have about 3/4 of an inch exiting the hand, up to maybe 1 inch on someone with really thin fingers. BTW, mine don't hurt the palm area because I use a rubber walking stick ground tip on the end positioned in the palm! I tried longer ones myself, and it only took ONE practice strike into a bag where the stick turned in my hand to convince me to never do that, as it hurt like hell and I had bruises for a week on those fingers touching the stick. (and it was a mild "test" strike, and had just 2 inches exiting overall too!) Also, since you are doing this video on Kubotan and Yawara type sticks, I was surprised not to see any of the three FREE Ti Rod Tactical samples I sent to you. (2 in Titanium, one in DuPont Delrin, with the central reinforced rubber "Fist-Lock" Grip that has been universally well received!) Over 8,000 hand made in all lengths and diameters over the last 7 years, sold into 20 Countries to date, and with no returns says a LOT, and with a full year warrantee to boot! I sent them to you in May of 2021, and was looking for another customer in my shipping logs and found your address at Quantom Martial Arts in Florida where I sent them in care of you. I just hope you actually received them, as I lost track and don't recall ever getting any feedback from you, though I do recall speaking with you on the phone for quite awhile before I sent them. Anyway, I just turned 67 this month, and we never know how long any of us will hang around, so if you never got them let me know and I'll see what I can do. 🙂 Stay Safe, Joseph Tousignant Ti Rod Tactical

Looking at the Yawara. Low profile & unassuming. The "word" is kinda out on the Kubotan.

Nothing silly, they work. I guess in this day of gun violence it is easy to laugh at something that is not a bullet. Not always do the bad guys stand at a great distance. Let there be light.
