I'm always on the lookout for a mineral sunscreen that doesn't burn my eyes, doesn't leave me whiter than I already am and is water resistant. I'm a sweaty person, especially in the summer so that is super important. My main concern with some of these tinted sunscreens is they leave me looking like I don't know how to match my foundation color to my face. It's definitely not easy!

I’ve been using EltaMD tinted sunscreen every day since 2010, when I turned 50. It does have a shiny/dewey finish, which I HATE, so I use a pressed finishing powder (No7 or Bare Minerals) over it. Not only does it knocks down the shine but it gives me enough coverage that the combination works great as a natural looking foundation! Even if I’m shooting a video, it’s still the combination I use, I just might go a little heavier on the powder or use a darker shade, for more coverage. It feels so much nicer than wearing actual foundation. I’m just realizing now at 62, I should have been putting the EltaMD on my ears too.

Great topic! I agree that the Elta md clear would have been the better comparison. It use to be my absolute favorite. Then DRMTLGY came along at a better price point and I switched. Thank you for this series! I was excited to see the comparison of my two favorite brands side by side, but unfortunately it was not my two favorites. I'd love to see Elta MD UV Elements 44 v DRMTLGY Physical Tinted 44. Both are physical tinted sunscreens offering same SPF. I'm guessing it will come down to a similar conclusion, that it really comes down to preference but since I don't recall hearing about these on your channel and they are my favorites- I would love to see them do a Doctorly battle!! On a side note, I was surprised that the con you mentioned for tinted sunscreens as being messy- the hardest part for me is the lack of good shade range. My favorite Elta MD is too dark for me in winter- which brings me to my question... Is it safe to mix tinted sunscreen with anything to get a better shade match?

Hey, I'm nearly 60 (yikes!) and use tinted sunscreen but hate it. I hate anything that stains my clothes and there doesn't seem be an alternative. What about the Japanese Biore UV Aqua Rich Sunscreen Water Gel shokunin SPF50+ PA++++? Is this just as good as using a tinted sun screen? I'm use it when on days that I can't take it feel like clean clothes.

What about PA+++? Is it important for sunscreen?

I’m so surprised at the amount you used. I have heard you should put 1/4 a teaspoon which is about 3 finger lengths. Would love if the amount you used is effective because it would sure make it last longer
