It is not the weight of the handler, it is their ability to train their dogs properly, starting as puppies. I have 2 mastiffs - total combined weight of 300 lbs. I am a 55 year old woman. I have COMPLETE and total control of them and have nerve had an issue.

I agree, however, I think the biggest problem is people not training their dogs. any breed can attack, any breed can be trained, and there's no excuse not to train your pets, especially pits and bully breeds.

Not to say they shouldn’t exist or don’t need a home but they shouldn’t be pets, they should have some sort of home or reserve.

The insurance industry agrees with your observation. That's way these breeds are not insurable. There are more aggressive breeds. It's not just their size. Take for example the Bernese Mountain dog. How often do they attack other dogs or even children? They are truly gentle giants.

You can’t blame the dog breed, it is the owners who do not raise them correctly. No puppy is born vicious, puppies are cute cuddly little things. I get so cross when these situations arise, as I know it is the fault of the owner. Obviously her dogs had not been properly socialised with other dogs as pups. If puppies are trained properly, introduced to other dogs as pups, these situations would not occur. Those dogs need to be taken away from her, before another incident happens.

the Plaintiff had a shepherd mix, for shepherds are known to revert at times. the defendant had Pitt bulls and mastiffs, untrained. Not a good mix for the Pitts and mastiff's owner.
