@JamieM470 2 жыл бұрын
@@Looey_The-Balloon-DANDYSWORLD American bulldogs were imported from England. They're basically the original form of bulldog....which was created by mixing mastiffs with terriers. After bull baiting was outlawed in England in 1835, people started breeding bulldogs with smaller dogs like pugs to produce a better pet, & created what is now known as the English Bulldog. Other people mixed bull-baiting bulldogs with terriers to produce a dog that had the same gameness (refusal to back down even under tremendous pain) as the bull-baiters but with more agility, so they could fight other dogs rather than bulls & bears. The Pit Bull was born. In the 1800's. They were also imported from England....and dog-fighters in the US have been breeding bulldogs with terriers to create new Pits and breeding Pits with Pits ever since. Then there's the Staffordshire Terrier (registered with the AKC) which have been bred for their appearance (not for fighting) since the 1800's. The Old English Bulldog was an attempt to recreate the "Regency Period Bull Baiter" in 1971 by David Leavitt in Pennsylvania. He mixed one-half Bulldog, one-sixth American Bulldog, one-sixth Bullmastiff and one-sixth of other breeds. The Old English Bulldog was the last one created. It's a bit confusing, and I think you have your names mixed up.

The defendant might have THOUGHT he had sufficiently closed up the holes in his fence with some loose odds and ends (plus some garbage cans), but that CLEARLY WAS NOT enough, bc the dogs CAME STRAIGHT THROUGH IT! No matter how you look at this case, it’s ALWAYS the defendant’s fault (NOT THE DOGS. ITSELF)! Regardless of the plaintiff going towards his property…. His countersuit is just TOO ridiculous for words; I think Judge Milian made that very, very clear.

@@kevintaylor3435 She should have called Animal Control, but she's kind of dumb. She didn't go into his property, but that doesn't always matter. 10 years ago , my dog snapped and bit a guy my dog didn't know (my neighbor's 40-something son) who came into my 6ft new fence. My dog (a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Great Dane) was barking at him and I was inside putting my daughter down for a nap. He kept approaching my dog to "calm him down" he said, but he cornered a barking dog and got bit on the finger. He then called animal control and acted like it was my fault when HE came thru my secured fence. He said he was going to sue me for pain and suffering even though I paid his urgent care bill (thanks to insurance it wasn't too much and I did it to keep peace with his parents, my neighbors). I told him that we should call the police to file a report and that i would be looking into a restraining order since he didn't respect fence boundaries. He dropped it. I now have locks on my gates. I'm not sure how it would have gone, but PEOPLE ARE STUPID! Always count on that.

But Pitties have also been known to be tiny children aggressive.....they scream, they run around, they're great stimulus for an aggressive Pittie. Any child less than 10 yrs can be at risk....a few times a year we get a story in a paper about the family Pittie KILLING the baby/ toddler/ small child. Das im blut. As a veterinarian, i have to know about thses things....i'm the sap who had to try to put other ppl's pets back together after a Pit bull attack (usually it's my job to tell the owner of the victim dog that they've brought it in dead from the attack) Pitties aren't AKC registered, so no one is breeding for temperament. They just breed for size and colour.....and for a lot of back yard breeders, fighting ability. (yes, dog fights are illegal but ppl are into them anyways. Check Michaiel Vicks. Even the book about his dogs...which painted them in the most favourable light possible....mentioned that most new owners had to be told to keep the dog away from all other animals and small children)

he probably doesnt let the dogs OUT when he's not home but either way a garbage can isnt going to stop a dog that wants to get out they can easily nudge it aside or push it out of the way etc if they claw at the space enough and really want to get out. he needs to actually fix the fence...either get new fencing or its really not that hard to patch up and dog-proof the spaces-- just get some chicken wire , pull it tight and zip tie it to the bars between the areas where the bars have been chewed off and broken you can also bury the bottom of wire in a little bit so they cant dig out if dogs are diggers.

First, aggression toward dogs and aggression toward humans are completely different things. She got bit because she (totally understandably) put her arm around her dog that was being attacked. His dog wasn't trying to bite her; she was unfortunate collateral damage. I wouldn't have been worried about Lauren at all. Second, I hate it when dog bite victims call every single dog a pit bull, like it somehow proves the dog was aggressive. No, the dog was aggressive because it was aggressive, not because it was a pit bull. Plenty of pit bulls are non-aggressive, and plenty of dogs of other breeds are very aggressive. She must have said "pit bull" about 30 times during her testimony, when you know very well that had it been any other breed she would have just said "dog." Third, the guy's insane if he thinks raccoons did that damage. That was done by his dogs trying to get out. He needed to repair it immediately and put up a sturdier fence or a permanent structure at the bottom to keep his dogs contained. He admitted that it's been like that a YEAR and he's done nothing to fix it? He dug his own grave with that one. Fourth, he's a completely irresponsible backyard breeder breeding pit bull-like dogs, which are the #1 most euthanized type of dog in the country. I love pit bulls, but we DON'T need more of them being bred by idiots who don't have a clue what they're doing. I'm glad the plaintiff got everything she asked for.

I have a pitbull. She’s pretty big. 94 pounds of muscle. She’s the sweetest thing. Never ever had an incident where she acted up with a human or another dog. That being said, I understand how powerful of a dog she is. I also acknowledge that some people are afraid of her breed. I go above and beyond to make sure she’s secured at all times. I have an 8 foot iron fence around my front yard and an 8 foot concrete fence around the backyard. I double check that latch every time I open and close it. When I take her out she has her collar (and harness) on. I’ve seen too many dogs wiggle out of their collar. As dog owners (especially of dogs so large that they can cause a lot of damage) we really need to be more careful.

I think both are at fault. Him for not maintaining his fence but she shouldn’t have done what she did. She was on his property when she got injured uninvited.. Why not call animal control. Once I hear pitbull?! Ya that’s enough for me to get out of there.

Agree, the racoon holes definitely should've been fixed/covered and the lady should've just called animal control about loose dogs like why. I've walked a past pup on a leash and she got attacked by an actual loose pit and I choked it with a belt until I was able to lift her one handed and toss her into a car window that was rolled down 😭 I let him go an jumped my A right into the same window until his owner came and got him 😂 I can laugh because my puppy survived and lived for almost a decade

I've k8nda done what she did saw a stray pit bull and looked 4 owner. I was walking my dog and saw this dog running towards us, I HOLLERED 4 my husband who was on the porch and already on the way. Thankfully pup was friendly 2 my husband, my husband held pup while I put Mt dog away because I don't want 2 chance mine being hurt. I didn't physically handle the dog I just walked around my neighborhood and found a young woman walking and yelling a name. I asked if she was missing a dog and I took her back 2 my house where my husband was giving the pup some water. I sadly found out that my neighbors would throw things at the dog just because he was a pit. I understand not wanting 2 go up 2 a strange dog and putting animals/pets away around a stray dog but NEVER understand throwing things.

As we see about the owner of the American bull dog, Mama, and her puppies that got out, he was clueless of his own responsibility of those dogs. He tried to justify that it was other person's little dog that instigated the attack. "...and every man does what is right in his own eyes." He did not care about keeping his dogs securely inside his fence, he really thought he was right, not the other lady. Judges 21:25b

The defendant is obviously not going to fix that fence and his dogs will continue to get out. The neighbors should call animal control every time they see the dogs out. It’s not the dogs’ fault it’s the irresponsible owner who’s disregarding the safety of other people and other animals.
