@@G.Bfit.93 for example, lets say you do bicep curls first, then do pullups, your biceps will be a limited factor at least that what jeff says with his research backing it up. If you check his program too, he puts compound exercises first and isolation later
@paulcox24475 ай бұрын
The idea behind doing isolation work first is as follows. When you do them, you pick muscles that wont be the limiting factor in your compounds. Hitting biceps before doing row for example. The biceps wont be the limiting factor in your rows. If they are "prefatigued" the compounds arent effected much. Overall volune is the same. If you do the compound ift first though your isolation will suffer. Youll burn out fast, particularly on the concentric part of the lift. You wont lift as heavy or for as many reps. So you lose work capacity this way.
@LilWillieBeatz4 ай бұрын
I think what you mean to say is that If you did biceps before rows your biceps WOULD be a limiting factor? Usually pre-fatigueing is used like this: If you do a squat and really want to emphasize your quads then you maybe do leg extensions and then do your squats. That way your quads are the muscle to first "give out" and therefore is the muscle being emphasized the most
@justjoshingyou04 ай бұрын
generally speaking, hitting something like biceps or triceps before a compound will decrease the amount of reps you can get on that movement, which means the primary mover (the back in a row, for example) won’t receive much eccentric overloading. secondary muscles are also more resilient, so a compound movement won’t affect an isolation much. (i hope all that made sense lol).
@albertspaher41943 ай бұрын
You had a good point but your example with biceps and rowing is subpar. Should've took the one we all saw in the video, doing Hamstrings before squatting does not really limit your squatting ability because it is used primarily as a stabilizing muscle along with add/abductors, so doing some easy lightweight sets of hams before squats is a good way to hit both the quads and hams with awesome stimulus in the same workout. Think of it more as facepulls before Benching, where when you bench heavy you use your back muscles passively to stabilize but not as a part of the concentric. And with benching beeing usually a more compound move than Facepulls you can target the traps and back shoulders with good intensity without loosing much energy before a heavy ass benching set.
@LilWillieBeatz3 ай бұрын
