Let’s talk about the warning signs of hypothyroidism and go over a few natural remedies for hypothyroidism.
A big problem with taking thyroid hormones over a long time is that the thyroid will become lazy and dependent on the hormones.
Instead of only masking the symptoms, it’s crucial to understand the potential root cause of hypothyroidism, so you can really do something about it.
T4 is the main hormone that the thyroid makes-but it’s not the active form of the thyroid hormone. It’s the precursor to T3, which is the active form. A problem with the liver or kidneys can affect this conversion.
A deficiency in selenium or zinc can also affect this conversion. There are two hormones that can not only affect the conversion but also the production of thyroid hormones-these hormones are estrogen and cortisol.
90% of hypothyroid problems are really Hashimoto’s. A permeability issue with the gut can lead to an immune problem where you develop antibodies against certain things. Gluten sensitivities, allergies, and intolerances have also been linked to hypothyroid problems-especially Hashimoto’s.
Another big factor in Hashimoto’s is inflammation. If you can get rid of inflammation, I think you could see a lot of improvement. Vitamin D and selenium are important natural remedies for Hashimoto’s.
7 early warning signs of hypothyroidism:
1. Loss of the outer part of the eyebrows
2. Thinning, dry hair
3. Decreased cold tolerance
4. Slow metabolism
5. Weight gain all over
6. Feeling tired
7. Depression
What to do for hypothyroidism:
1. Determine the true cause
2. Take trace minerals (selenium, zinc, and iodine)
3. Don’t consume gluten
4. Take vitamin D (40,000 IU) and Thytrophin PMG (1 before bed over three months)

As a person who has hypothyroidism, I can attest to losing eyebrows not being an early sign. Cold intolerence, weight changes, hair changes ,hoarseness , low energy , foggy brain all came before , temperature drops like waves through your body, skin changes (cholesterol deposits under skin) weak ankles/ feet , anxiety, not as in worrying about stuff but as in internal tremours, heart palpatations, shortness of breath( onset asthma) AND for women, menstruel changes, i nearly bled out for instances before i was diagnosed and THEN i lost the outer part of my once thick , joined in the middle eyebrows! So if anyone wants to know about symptoms, ask me. I've been through the mill while the doctor just thought I was neurotic and overweight!

6 years ago I discovered I had slightly elevated thyroid antibodies. The doctor said she wasn't concerned bc she'd seen much worse. I never went back to her but I did change my diet. Cut out gluten, sugar, and dairy. It was horrible at first, felt like I was dying from the detoxing, but it was definitely worth it. I just had my antibodies tested and got the results right before I watched this video and they are completely normal in range. Praise God 🙏🏼

I was diagnosed at 9 years old with Hypothyroidism. I'm 44 now and was finally diagnosed with 5 different food allergies: Wheat, Soy, Corn, Peanuts, and Sesame Seeds. My life thus far has been ruined because of it. Most of my life not one Dr. would take my complaints of nausea and vomiting seriously!! It took me four years after doing the research to even get a Dr. to finally give me a food allergy blood test! I'm so angry. Knowing this early in life would have changed my future completely. I was a good kid and an A & B student but as I got older the nausea became debilitating. This greatly affected my social and work life, not to mention the depression that stemmed from it. Avoiding these foods is even more socially isolating which doesn't help my depression and I am not sure what to eat now that can help me heal. Coming from a toxic family, I was often accused of making it up and ignored when I said I don't feel well. Unfortunately, they believed the incompetent doctors over me. The relationship between my parents and I is permanently damaged because of this. 😐 I hope I can find some form of happiness this late in life. I pray my body can heal enough to have my own family. I promise I will treat them better then I was treated. Much prayers needed. 💝

I myself was born with congenital hypothyroidism...but my thyroid is on the back of my tongue..lingual thyroid ..the right one isn't even there..but I too have the same symptoms as you..pregnant women need to make sure they have these nutrients prior to getting pregnant so they aren't born like us...nutritional deficiencies in the womb caused mine..

First of all throwing a pity party doesn't help. Secondly everything has a source meaning the depression. No one relationship with anyone is damaged less you want it to be. So work on letting go moving on and and forgiveness on forgiving yourself and others. Find happiness and work on some healing.❤

Been exercising, dieting including low carb and fasting/omad very frequently for years and still cannot shift weight gained. Always been very healthy, sporty, active, slim, fit and toned. No sympathy or interest from any doctor in uk. Even had to educate my GP re certain aspects of thyroid issues as her knowledge is very basic. Some days I find it hard to accept I have to live my life this way. They need to understand just how significantly life changing the effects of hypothyroidism has on people and due to cheap, Ineffective treatment, what effect is has on patients’ quality of life. I feel insignificant and worthless and like I’m just another hypothyroid statistic.

Big Pharma trains and creates the curriculum for today's doctors. They teach only to know how to manage the Disease Process and not your Health! They practice what I call 'Cookbook medicine' following the prescription recipes to manage only disease symptoms while not trying to addresses the root cause or even a cure. A deep understanding how your health decline might have come about is not required by today's doctors. The industry is in decline and Dr. Berg is the answer.

Watching your videos I’ve lost 25 pounds in 5 weeks. I’ve played sports my whole life and was military for 6 years. I hurt my back, gained weight (from 225 to 290)and it took 13 months to get back to some type of normalcy. In that time I was still eating 6 times a day and I started getting depressed/suicidal. Once I was able to hit the gym again I hit it as hard as I can but couldn’t drop weight (I gained more. Got up to 340). It gave me body dysmorphia. I had no gut but love handles and body was just big(defensive end offensive linemen) and not what I was accustomed to. My doctor said I had no issues but needed to lose weight so I saw a dietitian. They put me inside this egg shaped machine that give a body breakdown. Long story short I followed what they said to the letter but nothing worked. Watching your videos helped me immediately, I started a 4/20 intermittent fast along with my workouts and a protein rich keto friendly diet. I had to understand my body is different and seeing a dietitian I did listen for my own good but they did give me more of a cookie cutter experience for my body. You can’t say someone is built like a linebacker(with a high energy motor) and then give them a plan for a regular person who doesn’t work like you do. I thank you and my wife thanks you. I’m finally starting to look how I workout.

Congratulations on your weight loss. I gained about 40 pounds during menopause and I was trying everything to lose weight. I was experiencing joint pain everywhere, especially my back. Went to the doctor and all she would say it’s a part of getting older and prescribe me mild pain pills. Got so bad I’d be up all night online trying to find out what could be causing it. That’s when I found Dr Berg, Dr. Ken Berry and Dr. Sten Ekberg, and others who I start listening to. I stared KETO and within a few days all my pain was gone and the weight just came off and I’ve kept it off for 4 years now. And when cheated around The holidays, I’ve eaten sugar, or too many carbs pain would return with a vengeance. Keep on going.

After giving birth I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I had all the symptoms Dr. Berg mentioned plus swelling all around and pressure around my eyes. I was put on synthroid I took it for a year almost. In that year of taking the medication it made me feel worse. I was always sleepy tired I would sleep throughout the day and I would still wake up tired. I went to Tulum last year and I forgot my medication. The week we were out there without me taking my medication felt amazing I wasn’t tired I was active I felt great so I stopped taking the medication. I went to an all natural doctor in Los Angeles, CA. She told me straight up it wasn’t my thyroid acting up she said I had a fatty liver (usually happens when your gallbladder has been removed). She had me do a colon cleanse and then detoxed my liver. I was taking choline, catsclaw, livtron and zypan. Along with that I was drinking lots of water and eating healthy. Within a month I was glowing and I had a lot of energy I felt like a brand new person. Today I’m struggling a little again but with Dr. Bergs help I will get back to it slowly but surely.

I am 70% gluten free but will deff put that to 100% and go grain free as well. I don’t have much of an appetite anyway! Wow I’m just so thankful for you right now Dr. ❤️

I can tell you this doctor is spot on... I'm 38 and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 17 years ago. Levothyroxine does NOT help. I've been taking it for years and so annoyed that I still have all the symptoms. The meds are useless. Especially gaining weight when I don't even eat that much at all. It's depressing and stressful.

A "symptom" I've been experiencing from hypothyroidism is my eyes practically never blink. This actually comes in handy when engaging in staring contests, so I'm leaving it untreated as opposed to asking my doctor. When I visit my doctor and don't try to tell him anything, he's so relieve to have a patient without a list of questions of things to either ask him or tell him I get a discount on my co-pay. He always says jokingly - "You must never watch TV. ''cause if you did, you'd have a whole list of questions to ask me and things to tell me about."

This is exactly my problem. I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 4/5 years ago (as well as a genetic mutation that doesn't allow me to absorb vitamin B12 which I always lack and a slight insuline resistance) and have been on medication ever since. I am treating my thyroid with hormones and it seems to work in the sense that all the levels are now ok but my symptoms are all still there. Apart from the loss of the eyebrows and the dry hair, everything else is there: always fatigued and depressed, thin hair, can't tolerate cold weather, difficulty in losing weight despite eating a somewhat balanced diet and so on. We were never able to identify the root cause of this hypothyroidism so my doctor just came to the conclusion that it must have been caused by some flu. But after seeing this video, I am definitely gonna suggest him to do more research, especially since my insuline resistance could be linked to it!

Within the last two years I’ve changed my diet a great deal and did the gluten free thing since 2010. That really gave my stomach relief. Anyway, with me not having a thyroid at all and a fatty liver, and 44 years old, I am unsure how I can fix that issue.

So much awesome information that my doctor is not aware of! My doctor that was aware of this and got me on a path of healthier living, GF, grain-dairy-soy free - passed away and there is no one else in the are as educated as she was about thyroid issues. She did diagnose me with Hashimotos - Leaky Gut - Adrenal Fatigue. I do not take any thyroid hormone - I am taking your VITAMIN D3 + K2 - 40,000 IU's per day along with several other supplements you mentioned here as well as others. In fact, I have followed your healthy keto plan for 1.5 years now - lost 60 lbs - but lost a lot of fat around my belly, thighs, and Hips. My question is this... do I continue taking the 40000 IU's per day of VIT D3 + K2? I've lately seen some "healdlines" online about overdosing on Vitamin D.

There is speculation that taking LEVOTHYROXINE may cause SIBO (based on an article that came out a year or two ago that showed a strong connection). We've known for years that being hypothyroid (untreated) can cause SIBO, so this article felt like a "you've gotta be kidding me"/"damned if you do, damned if you don't" moment 😬 I made a whole video about this- basically, it seems the real connection was the autoimmunity itself (or rather, the duration of autoimmunity), rather than the medication. So if you're reading this and you've been frustrated and confused about how to treat your thyroid and your SIBO, please know that it is ok to take replacement meds if you need them.

I honestly can attribute my hypothyroidism (and my oldest daughter's) to decades of domestic violence/abuse. She's been on levothyroxine for over 12 years; I've been on it for at least 8 years. Neither of us have had any improvement in our symptoms despite increasing the dosages. For the past 4 years, my labs have shown questionable elevated liver enzymes(making my doctor concerned about fatty liver or something else going on). I have gained over 100 lbs in the past 8 years(I went from 120 to 225,then lost 22, but am now 235). I crave sweets and other carbs, have no energy, have chronic insomnia, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, my eyebrows have been nearly non existent for years, my skin is always dry,my nails are brittle and split and break before they ever get past the nailbed. I'm so tired of feeling like I'm old at 57,especially when I see other people older than me living full and vibrant lives.

Thanks for this video Dr Berg. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism the year before last but given the symptoms I think I have had it for a lot longer than my GP says. I had been having blood tests roughly on an annual basis but the surgery receptionists - not the GPs at this point - kept telling me that all my results were OK and I didn't need to see a doctor. It actually took one of their practice nurses saying to me "did anyone tell you that you needed more blood tests after your last lot?" and me saying "well no, the receptionist told me everything was normal" for me to find out that everything wasn't actually "normal" and they wanted to investigate things further. I'm now being tested every three months and am prescribed levothyroxine at 100 microgrammes a day. But I haven't really been feeling any better. I feel the cold more, my OA plays up like crazy, my metabolism seems to have slowed right down and my joints are so painful (I'm taking 4 different types of tablets for the arthritic pain) and I'd put a lot of this down to menopausal issues. Also, the hospital won't test for Hashimoto's even though I and my GP have requested it because apparently "they like to try everything else first" which seems totally counter-productive to me!
